Die hard Sox fan. I’m 43. It’s early, as we’re not even 10 percent through the year, but this is easily a 100 loss team and by far a top 2-3 worst Sox team I’ve seen. 1988 and ‘89 were awful. This looks worse.

I’m a Cubs fan but I’m pissed off for all the Sox fans. That entire organization is a disgrace and it starts with the owner. Chicago is a large market and they should be spending some money, but the White Sox act like they are in a small market. At least if they’re going to act small market then they should be developing players, they aren’t doing that either. The Sox fans deserve better, they deserve a new owner who will clean house and bring a winner to the Southside.

Biggest takeaway is what Chuck can’t say and how AJ wrapped this up. Royals actually spent money to improve in off-season and White Sox spent nothing. White Sox traded Cease and added. I free agents. The White Sox have a team of has-beens and never was. Baseball has a competitive balance problem because every year there are teams not trying. It is collusion to keep roster spending and payroll down. This is the worst Sox team they have ever assembled and has a chance to break the MLB record for most losses in a season:
At the end of the video AJ brought up the Royals fixing their team by spending money. The Royals team payroll is still lower than the Sox payroll. Spending money insures nothing. Not having Pedro Grifol as your manager immediately improves your team. My schnauzers could manage better. In my 60 years of being a Sox fan, I've never been so disgusted, so soon.
As of now they are averaging 2 runs a game. Which if it keeps up would give them 324 runs scored. That would shatter the all time record of fewest runs scored in a season. The record is 372 by the 1908 St. Louis Cardinals.

Honestly, it has seemed to me over the last few years that the Southside is where players come to die. Players arrive via trades and do not develop or meet expectations. Free agents shun the team and only sign when other teams reject them. They are now the lovable losers who aren't lovable. The team didn't give up in April or March... they gave up when Houston ran them out of the playoffs in 2021 and every new arrival comes in already dead inside. I am glad that Moncada is out of the lineup because I can't watch him jog the bases and fail to hustle any more.
You hit it on the head. No good players want to sign here because of Jerry Reinsdorf's bad reputation as a terrible owner.

In this era, multiple team "syndicate" ownership was permitted. The Robisons transferred Patsy Tebeau, Jesse Burkett, Cy Young and 10 other good 1898 players to St. Louis. On June 1,1899 the Spiders were 8-26 and then for September and October they went 1-34. The Spiders final record in the National League was 20-134.

They didn't wanna pay him to go away when they knew they weren't going to try winning this year. Basically they chose to hang what they knew would be an awful season on him rather than a new manager. It's the kinda thing an owner who lives to finish 2nd or 3rd would do to save money

I will say some of their prospects have looked really good so far. Farm system is ranked 18th to 20th I believe.
