Pastor J.D. I laid my head down this morning and asked the Lord, what next shall I read in the bible. I often let him lead me. Philippians came to me, so when I seen your post pop up and the title, I knew it was for me. I even got the same scripture. Let me tell you a little story.. My husband grew up in a religion I will leave out.. He is not saved, it the terms Jesus would defined saved. I have preached to him, gave him words from the Lord, we watch church on tv but it always seems to fall on deft ear. I am an ordained minister, we moved to our retirement home three years ago. way out away from town.. I started having issues with my body. well, after many times going to different doctors and finally unable to walk right, slurred words and all sorts of issues, I was diagnosed with progressive MS.. ok.. so I broke down for a moment, but then, I noticed something. My husband that would be drunk everyday and unstable to do anything by 4 pm started helping me. by this point, I can no longer cook dinner, clean the house and be a normal person. I have had conversations with the Lord. After asking him for healing a few times, I said ok, this is for a reason, im my weakness, you are strong.. for me.. getting back to my husband.. he has not been drunk for a few weeks.. cooks dinner, fixes my plate for me, takes it to the tray were I eat.. cleans the house and laundry. I have so much JOY, I get tears. I am tired and worn out, but the Joy of the Lord IS my strength to carry on. if this is my ministry for now... so be it!! Your message today, was conformation to me... Thank you so very much. I am reminded of Paul, when he asked three times for the Lord to remove his thorns... We are in a place for a reason... we must except with Joy, Joy to serve.

Pastor J.D. I felt like you were talking straight to me! I pray for joy and peace every day, and the place where I find it the most is at work. I am a nanny who works for 6 families taking care of 9 children altogether, and we have fun every single day, and I thank the Lord for my blessings. Especially since He was in charge my entire life and had me become a nanny to care for His children, and also my name "Leslie" means "joy". Thank you for this beautiful video! I'm always amazed when I see a thumbs down on these. What's the problem?! But it's not what someone else thinks but what God by His Holy Spirit ministers to out heart. I think the reality of Jesus returning for His Church and His working in things we can't see or understand either scares some people or they're afraid if they believe it, what if it doesn't happen! That's where faith is faith and that's where Jesus said "Blessed are those who haven't seen yet believe". Blessings JD and trust God's Word and His promises everyone... Me

Really good, as a Christian that desires so to feel joyful as some do all the time it has you questioning things. Bad Attitude is a terrible thing to develop and stay joyful. I’m really prayerfully trying to work to that being Joyful. Some people are so joyful you wonder if they are sick but I know it’s letting God lead! Thank you Jesus!

During this sermon I noticed the car in front of me had the Letters J O Y on the license plate...then I was curious if the other letters spelled anything... and they were S O L ! Soul joy!!!🌈💙
I feel joy comes from counting our blessings. The more we look back and see the blessings and the works done by our loving, heavenly Father then joy comes with it. I pray this blesses someone :)
Count your blessings name them one by one! count your blessings see what God has done!
Hi J D, you mentioned Dr Martin Lloyd Jones, he also wrote a book called 'Life of Joy', an exposition of Phillipians, worth a read.
Can I add that I've been impressed by your broadcasts, to remind us that as biblical prophecy appears to unfold before our eyes. In the war torn areas and other tragic losses they are all real people, with feeling hearts and loved ones. And in need of Jesus just like us.
I think many of us need such reminders and often

While Joy & contentment are rooted in the very foundation of a settled soul.
A soul who knows when pressed and placed against the backdrop of eternity.
The distinct difference between point A and point B of journeys end.
Internal peace. Composedly framed by promised hand. From Christ her first love.
His eternal sustaining assurance beckons even the least of faith to abide with righteous
fervor and lasting certainty. This world with all of it's heartache and disappointment at
best is temporal. Indeed Joy & contentment are rooted in the very foundation of a settled soul.Forward looking toward the prize that awaits the redeemed at journey's end.

Happiness can be lead to feelings and not on truth. Joy last longer but happiness only last a while. That is the difference!!!!!
It's sad to hear you have to call for help for children's ministry, ( again)I shall pray that caring capable people will come forth and help. Thank you JD for your constant service to The Lord, and us your listeners.

I'm confused. In the letters to the 7 churches in Revelation the 2 without rebuke were Smyrna and Philadelphia and there is no Philipi?
This is a difficult sermon to hear. I've been a Christian for over 40 years and have had a debilitating case of severe depression and anxiety since childhood. It's plagued me that I don't have that joy. I get momentary little glimpses of it but it goes away quickly. . . . . . very discouraging.
Yes I have also Been anxiety ridden most of my life and I definitely am not the picture of joy on a daily basis which makes me sad and around it goes! The sermon did help me to realize that happiness depends on circumstances and happenings and that Joy is different than that so I have hope that if I keep my eyes on Jesus and the unchanging us of God that the joy of the Lord will be my strength I pray that for you too!

Sounds like they have a need in their children's ministry?
Pastor J.D., you and many others refer to people with hate in their hearts, who hate the truth, who hate Holiness, who want to live as they desire, who seek a human messiah, who want a good economy more than anything, and who want humans to make "America Great Again" rather than the salvation of souls, rather than repenting of selfish intentions - as Christians. I disagree. They are not Christians. They need the LOVE of Christ in their hearts. They need to seek the welfare of others over themselves. WE need to be "fruit inspectors." We need to judge others, after we get the log out of our eye, so we will know the false christ, and his followers.
We have made our President a "holy man." Yes, God has used him in a mighty way, but satan is also using Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump is "full of himself." And we know how God hates pride and arrogance and that pride will be the downfall of America. BUT, more importantly it is not good advertisement for Christianity! Our Christian leaders are making Mr Trump our god. Wrong. Mr Trump is NOT a Christian and we are misleading countless lives to a humanistic religion, lives that will be without hope when trials come upon us.
MAYBE more people would have sought out Christ if Ms Hillary was president. We know that people only come to Christ when there is a dire need for divine help!
MAY God forgive me and others who have compromised God's ways, and are then leading them to an eternal hell. ( The apostle Paul, and his hardships, is one example, Jesus Christ being our true example.) Thank you Pastor for your STAND for our Savior, Jesus Christ.
