Sure was, pretty much directly across from you and your group. Definitely a grind that day, between the other anglers all over, the fast current and ice build up on my guides I was happy just to not get skunked like most!
@@MarshManMasson and idk if you caught it on video or not but I was laughing so hard when your boy walked down a bit and caught that line across the bayou and thought he had a GIANT 😂
Use to kill them years ago like that at Myrtle Grove when you use to be able to bank fish, the colder the better . It use to be packed tho but would always catch your limit. Was one of the hottest winter holes in Louisiana for bank fishing
I was out there yesterday. No luck whatsoever. Had multiple rods tightlined with shrimp, mullet, gulp crabs, and everything else i could throw at em. I know you told ya boy not to throw plastics, but what color matrix shad would you reccomend in that clarity of water if you would have thrown that?
I must have just missed yall we had to leave early we landed 2 by 745 maybe 8 fish caught that we could see at that point and actually that was my daughter's phone she must have put it down and it got forgotten
This video is a good example of why texas closed their coast because fish pile up and it’s like shooting them in a barrel for that one group that was in a good spot. Do better and practice some conservative.
Similar to when speckled trout move to the coast to spawn in the spring, and anglers catch their limits casting to beaches or adjacent to wellheads. The fish are super vulnerable then, so we should close down fishing during the speckled trout spawn. Would that also be your argument? If not, why not?
@@MarshManMasson that’s the anglers preference but if I catch a nice breeder trout I release no matter the time of the year as I’ve seen you do as well to your bigger fish. ruclips.net/video/n7qykMPt4V4/видео.html Just imagine what’s sitting on the bottom of our murkier bodied water Louisiana right now after the freeze
I was there for the last jubilee and we smashed them. That was a good one as we also went to MG and HJ during another freeze that year and done even better!
i think the big question is was there a big fish kill this year? texas is going to be hit very hard.....we had it pretty bad in 2018. was it cold enough for long enough to have a repeat in southeast louisiana? what are you hearing/seeing out there?
The info will filter in as waters warm and more anglers venture out, but really, my concern is with delayed mortality. I suspect some fish will die over the next week or two as a result of the freeze. Speckled trout fishing could be pretty lean around here until next spring. If we have a good spawn this year, those fish will be recruited into the fishery next spring and summer, and fishing could be epic, similar to what happened in 1991 following the devastating kill of December 1989.
I’m in north Texas it got down to -1 and -8 with the windchill. Have family down on the coast and we lost some huge trout like 24-28 inch range. Ready for the thaw
The jubilee is where I first met you and Joel back in 03 or 04! My car was stuck and you pulled me out and told me Ron was your uncle! I appreciate you Marsh Man!😎

@@MarshManMasson Both lol, I went back Sunday too and it was still a pretty decent day. I caught one in the same spot as you and I went to the opening that leads directly into the canal. I caught em between 16-24 inches and hit my limit.

Caught one rat red right in front of you that day on salt n peppa overcast lure swimbait.. also caught my PB.. a 7 ft Shakespeare rod 😂

I don't know if anyone reads your video descriptions as much as I do but I can say each video's description is just so well written. Keep it up!
The only good thing about cold weather is the Reds like to have their mini parades down the channels in celebration of Mardi Gras, lol.
Subbed

Cool shore bite!
I live in Baton Rouge, could you tell me somewhere close that I might catch some sheepshead?
