New subscriber! 👍 heading to Delacroix 3 rd week of November for trout reds and flounder…..moved to Florida in 1998 which the fishing here sucks due to the limit you can keep daily….not worth taking my boat out. Have family in the Kenner area so I try to see them every couple of years….just purchased a new 2072 grizzly w/150 mercury….need to stink it up with some speckle trout and reds…enjoyed the video young man. Have a great week and an even better weekend. 👍🇺🇸🙏🎣
Used to go along those rocks before Katrina, using a mullet wake bait , pounded them , awesome to see that they are moving back in LaTag Time again , hopefully I’ll get my batch of tags in Thursday, glad you got on a great bite , only keep enough to eat and release the rest , thanks again for the great video
You better change your name to jerkbait Jar 😂. I wish I could be that excited about catching fish again good job bro. You know I’m playing about the jerkbaits. I used to use them but I hate them treble hooks. I’ll be fishing the rocks more often this year we moved the boat to shell beach and we’ll be fishing towards the wall more often this year. You might get me to tie one back on real soon.
Lol you’re right though. I had one incredible trip with a jerkbait years ago and I’ve been chasing that same trip ever since 😂. I thought it would always be that good.
I get it. Do what you do. If you want to jump in my boat when the trestle turns on you’re welcome to. Do you fish the trestle?? I can’t remember if I seen a video.
What a fun trip! Great video with lots of good tips and techniques, including how to eat em! Can’t believe how fast all the kids are growing up! Must be all the shrimp and trout they’re eating.
Man you always smashing the fish in Hopedale. Me and my little boy are coming Next weekend.. Dont know the area very well but know some spots.. Anyway you can lead us to some fishing spots that i wouldnt know about and wouldnt have my boat beached?
Hey John. I change the hooks to the Gamakatsu EWG’s. The smaller size x rap that I fish with the most uses a #6 size hook. If I want it to run a little shallower, I’ll remove the split ring on the front (not sure it helps, but it makes me feel like it does).
Went yesterday using a twitch bait in Hopedale shoreline , tagging 16 trout 16-20 inches , 1 big red as well , no tide movement and no winds , skeeters were bad
Jared, glad to see you back at it !! Hammer time is here, looks like a great fall bite for sure. Awesome video, your usual, loaded with pro tips and techniques. I love to see folks cookin and having family time together, you’re a very lucky and blessed man! Thanks for takin us along with you! Do you ever fish a larger size jerk bait? What length leader do you prefer? Thanks again
Thanks James! Family time is what it’s all about. I start with my leader around 5ft and change it out once it gets to around 2.5 ft. Usually 15lb leader…20lb when I’m targeting Redfish.
@@Jar_Fishingyou find you actually get more trout bites with a 15lb leader? I used a 15lb flouro until I broke off twice while setting the hook and swapped to 20lb flouro, never had it break yet
@@garrett2251 I do break every now and then but it’s usually gonna be after I have caught a few big ones and don’t re-tie. It seems like the lure sinks a slight bit better and moves more freely with the lighter line. I fished 20lb for years and caught plenty of fish so I don’t think it matters all that much in the end. Stick with what’s working for you.
Awesome fishing, yep first cold snap gets everyone jazzed up for what is out there,be it folks bow-hunting or stalking bushy-tails or those of us addicted to chasing tail(fish,of course).Been slammed with bunch of issues, chiefly that this is MY time to shine as far as enrolling Medicare folks plus doggone ole Kubota radiator decided it needed PLENTY of TLC,in the form of complete re-coring,compliments of The Radiator Shop, near Ochsner Main Campus.Guess I somewhat lucked out as owner of shop lives not that far from me,unfortunately when I got the call dat radiator was ready, they wanted to know if I could make the trek across Lake to pick up radiator and owner's dad in hospital BUT totally lucked out as Jude ,one of their employees, advised that not only does he live in Killian, not that far from Ponchatoula, where my wife and I have our Medicare kiosk set up,but he was headed homeward and would be shopping at Wal Mart TODAY so he could personally deliver radiator to me.He showed up a tad after 4:00 pm and radiator looks BRAND new, can't wait to get rebuilt radiator installed so I can wrap up discing up deer food plots. Was hoping to fish this TH but have a meeting with Aetna and tomorrow supposed to be rainy day!!!Congrats on nice fishing trip, gonna make some time soon and might even chase some T-Funky sac a lait!!
It is good to see that the great time for catching nice trout , is on the way, you get them good Jar, Thanks for sharing .

Are you fishing North or South of the rock dam in hopedale.
Hammer Time indeed!! Well done and glad to see you catching them in the marsh with suspended and jigs.
Some good cooking!!
Good luck ahead.
Wow, I love to see that jerkbait action! Thanks for that and releasing the 20”er.
Great video! Appreciate the complete descriptions of everything! Thanks

Great video, thanks for the insight and best of luck this fall!
Thanks John
What a stud that first fish was! Welcome back brother!!
After catching smaller trout all summer even the medium sized trout feel like a dang tarpon 😂

Great video, appreciate all the pro tips as you try different retrieves. Thanks
You and I fish and think the same way. Especially after the jerk bait bite - "Stay on Stay on Stay on Stay on"
I’ve had some serious heartbreakers so now I’m just superstitious about it 😂
Making it look easy Jar!!!!! You should open a charter business...I be signing up!!!
I’d be a terrible charter guide because I would be trying to catch all the fish lol.
JAR, you’ve spoken about modifications you make to the Rapala X-Rap, just hook upgrades? Others? I’ve learned much about fishing it from ya’.

Good report. What color are your tags?
I’m on the tag team LaTag , yellow tags

New to your channel bro. Enjoy the content. I'll keep an eye out for you my next time on the water
Sweet!

Thanks Anthony! Glad you got that tractor fixed.
About 10 days early on the fish, bro. Better get out and catch a few more before I fly in!
Nice video, how deep of water are you fishing boats?
Thanks. Probably 3-10 feet
What time of year do they typically start showing up along the rocks near the wall?
Wouldn’t surprise me if a few were already there but a couple more fronts will probably do the trick if not. I’m just guessing
Alright Jared, Catchem! I like my filet thick! Hank
All these years you’ve been saying thin 😂
Glad that jerk bait action is back.
Haha I know right where that spot is in the marsh
Great video. Never fished the area. Thinking of Delacroix this weekend but the wind is 10 to 12. Is that too much wind for down there ?
Not too bad as long as it actually turns out to be only 10-12
