- I think it was only about 3 or 4 days ago I turned up to the plot in entirely the wrong clothes and it's happened again. Just some quick updates on various garden bits and bobs today, with a lot of laughs.

It's good to see you being able to get the young plants out into the freshly prepared beds. A bit of decent weather is what is needed now
Don’t you just love it when it goes quiet and you can hear the birds! Apart from the weather, it’s all looking so great, you’ve given me some great ideas, thank you!
Lovely to hear! Thank you :)
Hi JB, its been very windy here too 🌬🌬 this weather has been awful this past spring. Maybe, your greenhouse hadn't been warm enough 🤔 lovely video update. Your excitement is infectious. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
I feel you getting caught out. I was finishing glazing my greenhouse and them bam, absolutely howling wind and hail.
I stood there and held the new panels in sheer panic wondering what the hell to do 😂😂
Made me wish I had a full roof haha
Been wet up here in Inverness still a bit frosty to put out my beans and peas love your enthusiasm all looking great ❤❤
Half way through the video I had to go out and sow my second round of peas 😂 thanks for the reminder! 😂
Good show JB, for the peas with the road pins, you could use some of that 2" mesh as a support, it looks exactly same length as the guttering row, thread the road pin thru a top n bottom hole to hold it up - that's exactly how I do my peas, but mine are dwarf petit pois that only grow ~3ft high so mite not be appropriate for taller varieties!
Thanks for the greenhouse slug reminder....just found six under my broad beans!
Good to see such germination in the pollytunnel summer is on its way in uk 🤩
I love your enthusiasm JB, it makes me smile!
I had pretty much the same day yesterday. Went to plot with my nephew, sun was shining. The the wind and rain came in suddenly. My nephew hid in the shed whilst I planted a couple of containers of potatoes. Pretty miserable. Then it cleared up and we could get a bit of weeding done. Then it started hailing. Very peculiar, changeable weather day.
Some plants need cooler conditions. It’s a learning curve
Hey JB I too have found successional sowing a bit of an issue. I think you hit the nail on the head, when it is early in the season it is easier remember but it is during the height of early summer sowing it all goes to pot.
I have only managed to be self sufficient in lettuce through one summer and that was probably the lockdown spring summer as I was working from home and didn't have anywhere else to be or much else to think about.
Like you this year though I hope to be better at it. ...although my chillis and peppers need potting on again and my tomatoes are desperate for pricking out and the greenhouse STILL needs cleaning! 😁🤷♀
You are amusing. Thanks
Haha, I had just put some seedlings outside on some shelving and the hailstones came down like nothing before!! Poor things, didn't dare go and see if they had been flattened. What a day, 4 seasons in one 😂
what do you do for a living ?? how do you stay so happy ??? it makes me happy just watching you 👍👍
haha I work in the environment sector. It's quite stressful but working from home so no time commuting means more time allotmenting. It's great because I can start work at 7am and be at the plot by 5.
I've not had the best of days but seeing such a happy, excited youtuber like JB always cheers me up.
Looks like you got Yorkshire weather. Still cold & wet here, but was surprised me is left Parsnip seed from last years Potty Mouth Challenge, half have germinated.
Great video 👍
Jb's excited face and little noise 😂 7:30
That happened to me today but didn’t last to long 😂
Ah bless summers day in Northumberland 🤣
We had a brief hailstorm out of the blue yesterday, just after I uncovered the just-sprouted carrots 😂😮
Oooooh well they've had a hard start to life! Hope they're okay
getting there mate. weather has been mental
Thanks Tony!
🐝Thanks for the great video🌻 Love the white noise Zzzzz 🤣
This week has been getting right on my nerves !
Gosh, that was quick JB.
Those beds are looking great! I've been putting off sorting my fourth raised bed out which is out of sight behind my greenhouse in the garden, mostly because the weather here has been so atrocious. Seriously. A wetsuit, mask and flippers would have been more use than rainproof clothing. In fairness though the raised beds have proved their worth this year as the rest of the garden is so completely waterlogged and planting into the ground would have been completely impossible. The sun came out today after the obligatory rain and there was the first feeling that spring up here is finally on its way...hooray😁
May has got to dry everything out doesn't it?? Surely??
We had hailstones on Saturday, it was very windy too. It's been very changeable weather but it's good that you still manage to get so much done. Your peas are looking really good, you should get lots this year. 👍
Thank you! Fingers crossed
Looks great, JB.
