I never forget driving my first car overnight from one end of the Isle of Skye, in the Scottish highlands, to the other whilst listening to Terje's Odyssey album - magical! Still love it.
Big fan of terje here. He gets some occasion play in our record sessions. Just about to fire up the 1978 album he did with Jack dejonette and weather reports miroslav Vitous next weekend.
I think I’m pretty much responsible for having this amazing document now in the open since it was shot in Molde but never broadcasted by NRK. It took a while for my contacts to find it, since it was only rumoured to exist. Sveinung and Terje’s eye-contact at times is a priceless sign they were deeply connected over more than just music..
Odyssey got me through the turbulent late 70s. Stilla desert island disc. One of the best concerts I ever saw was this band in San Francisco abiut a year later. The audience was stunned.
Both sound and camera work got to be some of the best live recording from the era! The camera work especially is super fresh. Everyone doing live music video should look at this. Could do with less close ups, but some of the medium shots is spectacular! Feels like being there. Kriko looks like Jim Gordon here!

My favourite Musician: Terje Rypdal. I loved his music from my first year when I had 16... All my life with Terje in my mind.

Whenever I Seem Far Away blew My Young mind back in the 70's. Still an Outstanding Classic
His best record - slightly above the others of his 'classic' period. A bit Mahavishnu in the long passages. Stirring album.

The things they used to show on European television! I couldn't imagine seeing something like this on American TV.

I saw him play in Philadelphia once. John Abercrombie and Ralph Towner opened. I forget what year. Only thing I forget!
My lord!!! 🙏
1976 seems likely?
Han hade en smått överjordisk tid med albumen Odysse och After the rain....Har betytt så mycket för mig Terje....
One of my absolute favorite groups. I’ve worn out many copies of Odyssey. What a true gem this is. Thank you for posting. ❤️

The last 20 min. are absolutely brilliant!
Thank you for this. Terje Rypdal is a major talent. This would have never been available in America. Very Grateful Mr. Eriksson.
