I'm from the Seychelles and I grew up with these magnificant creatures. He wasn't angry, he was looking for attention. Male tortoises love tourists and this one just wanted a neck scratch! They can be very persistant so if you want your peace just give them some neck scratches. They'll go away eventually. Females are notoriously shy and will mostly avoid humans. I miss them so much, I don't know any other type of tortoise that is this friendly to humans. If they didn't get so big and produce so much waste I would have snuck one into my apartment in EU by now :D
