I appreciate that you put in the footage of when you spilled your paint water. Very relatable. Also putting the bullet holes in the 'O' then painting over it. Anyone that has not gone to extra effort to only paint over it later is clearly a cyborg that you should cover with rust.
yeah Dollar Tree is hit or miss. if it's one of the big ones they tend to have cooler stuff. All Dollar Trees are a good source for cars to convert to Gas Lands cars though.
So here's a conversation l had after watching this video. Me: l need to go to Poundland and buy some trucks. Wife: What, for Carter (Our Grandson) Me: Eeerrr.....Yes Wife: You've been watching those RUclips things haven't you. Me: Maybe Wife: Carter is 4 what's your excuse. And to be honest l'm still working on that answer but will have come up with something by the time l get to the tills. Great video as always looking forward to Episode 18.
This is by far my favorite episode yet! I was honestly laughing out loud at parts. But besides the laughs, this was incredibly helpful with tons of great information! Thank you for sharing these tips and tricks with all of us. I loved the last video about rust techniques, btw. It's my second favorite!
Rust, rust, baby. Another cracking video. The music is so fun and up-beat, and the sound effects really make the whole video pop. Magnetizing with pin heads is a great idea. I'm surprised that the rust video didn't attract many eyeballs; it was aces.
The best thing is, the greatest part of this video was the bumblebee story. Came for a destroyed truck, stayed for Bill. Unlike any other craft channel. Brilliant!
People really missed out on your last video! The rust tutorial was a total revelation for me! I am a gasland player and I effin** loved it! Most complete and comprehensive rust tutorial out there! I will definitely pledge on patreon soon (when I pay my card lol) continue your great content I love it!
I'll glady be there too! Bloody kids taking up all my modelling time, and giving up my hobby room because the baby needs a nursery... Shes a month old now and in our room. Glad I did all that moving and decorating for NOTHING!
@@gavinallen88 Trust me - by the time she's ready to sleep in her own room you'll have to beg her to do so. Especially when you and the missus wanna get busy.
I got some simple clay/modeling tools from my family, since I asked after watching you and Studson for a while. Thanks for inspiring me Bill! Your hermit crab really sold me!
First of all, excellent video as usual! Second of all, I finally figured out that Studson is your son from the future! Here's why: 1. You've inspired him to craft at a young age 2. In one of his videos he referred you to as 'old man', his dad! 3. When he was commenting on of your earlier videos, you treated him like a true son! 4. Stud-son, son of a stud! Am I close?
Wait, why would people target practice the O, if the thing is spray painted after... Gotta work on that continuity Bill. The trucks are pretty cool though.
that is a good point... I was intending to keep some of the Poundland text showing. But got caught up in the sheer scale of filming and editing. And didn't. Trust you picking that up... nerd haha
One of the interesting things about these older videos, after having watched recent ones, is how the studio has changed from fairly bare to a lot more decorated...
Now you need some shipping containers done up to be compatible with your magnetic bridges and walls. Also, corrugated cardboard when carefully peeled makes for some good metal after painting
Wow, all the rusty panel bridge ramps added a lot of character. This whole terrain piece adds so much background and lore to the board. Amazing build Bill, please don’t ever change your sense of humor and editing style. Quality content right here
I like the editing style for these. Amusing and snappy. As for the pigment powders... don't forget to seal those down or they will get everywhere over time and lose the effect.
Bill, I did watch the rust video, in fact I was very much looking forward to the rust video because I wanted to learn how to paint my trash robot I made. I actually found my pastels so I'll start as soon as I work up the nerve
If you can't use Masking Fluid or Liquid Latex for masking, due to allergy to Latex or because of the cost. Cheap toothpaste also works. Also a misting of Isopropyl Alcohol on to the sand before the watered down glue will help the glue permeate the sand better.
Great episode sir. Longer is better I guess. Plus everything went so perfectly. No mishaps at all, such as falling lights or spilling things. In all seriousness though. Honestly really impressed with your terrain episode. Didn't like when your little guy was shooting at me but I'll be okay. Thanks for improving day.
It's faint, but you actually can see the drip on the bullet holes. It's nice. Good place in the process to do it... looks like it sat there for a while. :3
The cracked paint with PVA was a really neat trick! It looked like the one that didn't turn out well was because the strokes you put on the glue with and the the strokes your put on the paint with didn't match directions, so it pulled apart in a different way. It might be a difference in paints, but I think the stroke directions might need to match. Just a guess. Cheers!
I watched last week. I'll have you know that per your suggestion on things to rust, I attempted it on the neighbor's pet. Chicken feathers are surprisingly difficult to sweep up. Stupid jokes aside, you've got a nice eye for placement and design. I truly enjoy / get inspired by your vids while getting a laugh now and again.
Beached cargo ship sounds ideal for this thick arid sort of rust. Not at all sure a vehicle would rust in the same way on a desert planet, especially considering it’s likely to be coated in zinc/tin and plasticised paints.
It might not be your style to talk about patreon, amazon wishlist or subscribing, but you definetly have style and I really dig it. Great terrain and super entertaining comentary.
So what you're saying is that you are going to make so many terrain pieces that one day you will be able to tile an entire floor with them? Absolutely adore all the little story elements you added- the holes around the o was such a great touch. And the movable pieces... wow seriously love this build so much, you always have really creative ideas! Also when you spilled your paint water... felt that pain too much, do it too often.
Thank you very much. Yeah the swearing was amazing... wish I could of left it in. And the bullet holes around the O... I then proceeded to paint over it without realising. You know how it is.
Another great episode of Bill Making Rust, I was very excited to see that it was 30 minutes long and the weathering techniques you experimented with were quite excellent! Also thank you for providing translations for your American viewers Bill, however there were a few which you missed that might confuse some people: "Cheesy Wotsits" are what we would call Cheetos, "Drawing Pins" are what we would call push pins, and "Poundland" is what we would call pound town and we take people's mums there

That paint over wet pva technique was really cool. This is also the first video that has ever made me want a heat gun

Heat guns are also great for organic textures using plastic or styrofoam. Just be sure to do it outside, 'cause fumes and all.
