Hi Martin, the next video is the strip down. It like a meccano set and I wasn't very good at that.
Apart front the middle frame, which is basically just a bent bit of tube I think all the other bits I will be able to powder coat.
      Take care, Jeff

Thanks Alan, it's probably the Mr Bean scene that inspired me to get one. I think I may be able to powder coat most of the panels as it is a bit like a meccano set, I hope I can get the bits back together again. Lol.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Adam and thank you for watching. The Mobylette was made in 1953. My mum is 92 and I tell her she was only 21 when it was made.
I'm sure before my father in law gets back from Thailand at the end of April we should get at least one good day.
I think it's got a vacuum leak somewhere, which I think I may have to tackle before doing the DPF.
I have been on the railways 20 years on Monday and we get a £200 voucher. I may invest in a smoke machine and hopefully then find out where the leak is.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Jeff, wish I still had the health to finish my projects.
    Enjoy watching your projects..
I've loads of tools I'd need to shift if you can make use of them..

Hi Captain and thank you for your kind offer. I'm 58 now and things I wouldn't think twice about like groveling under cars is a thing that I now put off us much as possible. I've still got to do my Father in laws Jaguar DPF, but I'm putting it off until it's drier and warmer. I will be guaranteed a bad back and a sickly tension neck ache the next day, so have to plan it around my days off.
Doing the mopeds is what enjoy the most, because it's old school mechanics.
      Take care, Jeff

Making progress on the bike. 👍
Had dogs for 40 years and they get what I call the "3 day bug" every now and again.
I keep some Pro-Kolin paste in the cupboard I get from Amazon, good stuff, firms them up in no time, saves vet fees too which seem to go up & up! 😠

Hi and thanks for the tip. I will make of that and get some. As you say they seem to go through a few days of it every now and again.
      Take care,Jeff

    Hi Jeff
This one is going to be really interesting.
I've never seen one before, only in films.
Such a shame we still have to tax and insure them in UK.
    Hi to Jenny and all
    Phil

Hi Phil, I hope you are well. I think I will enjoy doing this one. I believe there were about 8 million made, but very unique in this country. Bit of a hold up with the registration documents. I got a letter from the DVLA to say there was confusion over the frame number with customs. As it didn't have a frame number the person who registered with customs registered it under it's engine number. I now have a unique frame number, but have got ask customs to amend the NOVA certificate.
All this for a push bike with a little engine.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Phil, Jenny is back to normal now, so no getting up in the night to go to the woods.
Yes they made things so simple back then, comparing it to that blooming Jaguar.
It's still got a vacuum leak somewhere, so will try and to that before the DPF.
Tomorrow (Mon) I have been on the railways for 20 years and we get a £200 voucher, so I am going to invest in one of those smoke machines that detect leaks. Hopefully it will work.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Shaun, feeling good at the moment, I hope you are well too. Yes it is a 50cc, but I think you would be lucky to get 20 mph out of it.
I love unique looking bikes and although I think they have made about 8 million of them, it still has character and I'm sure eventually going to the shops on it, it will be noticed.
      Take care, Jeff
