Ight so after incorporating my right hand to block and parry opponents over hand right, what can I say is since your right hand is high and right by your head, ready to fire, u can get it off quicker and use it to counter more as well as block. Opponent started going straight down to the body and left side of the head now. If you’re quick enough and good at reading movements you can block a decent amount of them and get off a quick counter. Overall pretty effective if used right. If you love to jab highly recommend using.
@Chaxie Forni the ankle pick i know is a wrestling takedown, but yeah the imanari roll is great for getting knee locks, foot locks and other nasty subs. Last time i seen someone land one was Chase Hooper, looking forward to this guy.

Usually you can see when they have loaded up the right hand, that’s all that’s on there mind to throw, drop the left to make them Trow it, slip and try counter. I’m good at slipping I need to work on the counters before they guard up
I did boxing for 1.5 months at my university gym in a group class. During that time I also got some tiquando lessons from one of the students(Black belt) and then joined the UFC gym near my house because I really enjoyed both marshal arts and wanted to try different styles. I've been going to the gym as much as I can (3-5 times a week depending on uni pressure) for 3 months and I can see my self doing this for a long time. One of the coaches at the gym one day told me that I hit hard for my size and my weight (47 KG) is perfect to start MMA and offered to train me for aud 35/hr. My tiquando instructor also told me that I kick hard for my size. The truth is I cant afford to pay for private lessons as I live on less than minimum wage and the gym membership is already a lot of money but I think its worth it. I see the coach training with some other guys sometimes and they all seem to be improving a lot more than I am. My question is how can I improve as fast as the other guys?
The key is how to block an overhand right? if you know how to do that then you have to tool you need. The next question is visual reaction, you need to be able to read it coming, that comes from experience and training. Visualize it happening. Slow it down, respond successfully. Now speed up the situation and respond the same.
If you duck the overhand right and pivot, you can right hand his liver and it's gonna HURRRRT lol 😳🥊 Tyson was a beast at ducking under and pivoting his feet. It was really more like a quick hop with both feet and he'd end up almost behind his opponent
To counter the overhead right : duck under slip to the outside and throw a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut or a left hook to the head
J. Angel i recommend getting the basics down first. I worked basics for almost two years and decided to study the philly shell and it wasn’t as hard after a while. I found it easier working philly shell against basic combos. It’s like it’s meant for that. Once you advance you can get creative. I must admit I did struggle a little against taller opponents.
Legend has it that the bag in the background is still swinging
The overhand right, arguably the most feared punch in boxing and rightfully so. I prefer ducking under or blocking it. Slipping is simply too risky.
