@@surprisek3918 For now, the wire has not affected our work performance at all. It’s also beneficial having a light that lasts multiple 8 hour sessions to avoid having to constantly change the battery/charge it. I run the cord inside my white coat to avoid it getting caught on things and it seems to work well as of now!
Yeah, loupes are very expensive in the US as well. We’re required to get loupes at our schools but it’s normalized because most people take out loans to be able to afford them.
@@thedentalduo In Brazil, these loupes cost R$ 10,000 and the minimum salary here is R$ 1,500. Paying for the materials necessary for the course is very difficult for some people. THe public university sometimes provides these materials. Generally, we recieve all disposable materials from the university.
Did you two ever make that video commenting on why you chose lumadent for your loupes light? I'm actually looking to buy the same q optics TTL loupes at 4.5 with the steepest declination angle and deciding between loupe light manufacturers. I love my andau lights because even without the shield it doesn't cure composite quickly well but the batteries are questionable quality so I was trying to decide between designs for vision (can be powered from a USB battery pack if needed - it's been done on a youtube video somewhere ), surgitel (more neutral light compared to most blue/white loupe lights - dont know if this will cure composite faster because my old orascoptic was a bit more neutral/yellow cand cures faster) or just making an adapter for my andau lights to work with the q optics. Thanks!
We haven’t! We wanted to use the loupes extensively for the first couple years to ensure we don’t have any problems or change our mind. As of now, we love our decision. The Lumadent light was recommended to us by D2-D4s at the time due to its long battery life and brightness. I can confirm, it’s a really solid light that lasts multiple days of use which I think is very valuable considering when we get to clinic it will be annoying to switch out the batteries constantly. As for the adapters, Lumadent will provide you with the adapter that will attach on to your current loupes so there’s no issues with that! Let us know if you have any other questions and we’re happy to help!
We got “direct ergos” loupes. The angle of declination and positioning of the lens is extremely low compared to regular direct loupes. As of now, we’ve been pain free and have great form while working. My head is tilted a lot lower typing this message while using my phone compared to using my loupes. Hopefully the pain doesn’t build up in the years but as of now we haven’t felt any discomfort compared to my other classmates who went with direct loupes from other companies.
Good luck on your search! I know Q-Optics has a pretty decent trial period. I'm pretty sure if you return your loupes within 4 months of receiving them you can get a full refund in addition to having a 6 month grace period where you can exchange your direct ergos for standard ergos if you prefer those instead. Its a good standard to make sure you are fully satisfied with your purchase. We could still exchange to standard ergos today if we wanted to. @@iddicted
