    i’m studying for my dental admissions exam right now and i have to say this really motivated me to keep going. it can be so hard and overwhelming at first to think you’ll reach a goal as big as becoming a doctor. your video is truly an inspiration, good luck emily!

    This is sooo intriguing. My brother is a 12 year head and neck cancer survivor (and basically lost ALL) of his teeth over the years due to cancer treatments. He has been thru 10 months of getting his NEW teeth at MUSC (medical university of South Carolina, USA) and we were informed he only has 3 more appointments. It's been grueling for him but he values and loves the students at the school who have been so engaged in helping with impressions and posts and implants and fittings etc!
    All that to say THANK YOU for your work. It truly does make a difference!

    If your contacts are giving you eye fatigue then I would recommend getting some higher oxygen permeable contacts like Silicone Hydrogel Lenses for example
    Oxygen permeability is measured by a value called Dk, where:
    D represents the diffusivity (how fast oxygen moves through the material)
    k represents the solubility (how much oxygen the material can hold)
    Hope that helps! I also recommend overnight contacts, which reshape your eye overnight so that you can go contact free the next day (though some patients do complain that they have a hard time going to sleep in them). I haven't tried them personally. I just wear glasses now haha.

      oh wow hahaha. but i lowkey have astigmatism and i'm slightly cross eyed in one eye so my optermistrist said i had to get a special kind that were like soft ones i wear for 30 day.

      @emilystudying lmao 🤣. Unfortunately, as you likely know, astigmatisms usually mean that you'll need thicker (and therefore less comfortable) lenses. 30-day lenses are a pretty common recommendation (great bang for the buck), but if your eyes are consistently getting irritated. Trying out some new brands with higher dk values (ideally dailys) is never a bad idea 😊.
      Personally, my eyes always had less irritation when I used dailys vs. monthlys. This is because daily contacts are usually made thinner, with better oxygen permeability. There's less risk of allergen build up, contamination, degrading of the lens, and loss of moisture since you're using a new lens every day.
      That said... your either using toric lenses or custom soft lenses to correct your strabismus and astigmatism. And using dailys is always even more expensive. The prices can be frustrating! But if that's not a factor and comfort and eye health are your top concern. Then trying out some high oxygen permeable dailys could be a great idea for you. I'd recommend running it by your optometrist to see what they think/recommend next time you see them 😊. Of course, you would probably have to wait quite a few weeks for those custom ones to come in after you get a fitting.
      I'm not sure why I felt like writing this all out haha, I may have misread your text, it sounds like you might not haven't gotten those custom ones in yet that your optometrist recommended. But thanks for replying! Have a wonderful day!

    Hi emily 😊,
    I really appreciate your reviews on note-taking apps and your deep insights into what makes a great app. I’m working on a new note-taking application and would love to get your thoughts on a few key aspects. If you have a moment, could you share your perspective on these?
    1. What are the biggest complaints users have with existing note-taking apps (latency, performance, features, or usability)?
    2. What features do users actually want but don’t get in most note-taking apps?
    3. Would users pay for a better note-taking app? If yes, what features would make them subscribe?
    4. How do current top-performing note-taking apps optimize performance and responsiveness?
    5. What’s the biggest challenge in launching a new note-taking app today?
    If you're available, I’d love to discuss this in more detail. Your insights would be incredibly valuable in shaping something truly useful for users.
    Thanks in advance for your time! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

    im sure you've probably answered this question a lot but you sound either Canadian or American, why did you decide to go to dental school in Australia?

    • @emilystudying
      @emilystudying  5 дней назад

      Cause the program is 5 years long and we can go directly from highschool! They don’t have this in Canada

    What's the duration of dental courses in Australia???

    • @emilystudying
      @emilystudying  26 дней назад +1

      for undergraduate students (i.e directly from high school), it is 5 years. if you had an undergraduate degree/bachelors degree you can apply for post-graduate dental school which is 4 years long. hope that helps :)
