I rewatched the first 20 seconds of the video on mute and thought Davie504 had kidnapped Charles' parents and was demanding a ransom.
There is something insanely unnerving about seeing an instrument being played but not hearing any noise.
If it's an instrument you know well, you'll be hearing plenty of stuff :D
Especially true when the instrument is being played by davie’s long skinny E.T. fingers.

When you’re a guitarist but watch both Davie504 and Charles: “Ha Ha Yes… Bass”
Before you know it you'll have a strong urge to cut two of the strings off your guitar
Guitarist here too, but I must say that bass is waaay cooler than guitar. Especially in ska and and stuff like that

In a way, Davie actually inspired Charles to run his RUclips channel. Charles was the "pro" in every davie504's fiver related videos (where Davie challenges random fiver bassists to make tough baselines), and he got the well deserved fame after Davie challenged him in a base battle. Good times.
Following this battle a few years after, great fun and awesome bass lines from both of u👏🙏
I expected Davie to tune into some insane tuning like ABCD and play something ordinary on it, would have been both impossible and hilarious
I was very happy to see For Whom The Bell Tolls at number 6. A metal baseline you can actually hear lol.
Got 5 of them. Recognized only stuff I can play myself. As a lowskill bass player I guess it's not that bad xD
I got one (I Want You Back) and only because I'm playing it in my band.
In my defense, I hadn't heard more than a couple of the other basslines.
I would love to see you and Davie to play a bass version of Tommy Emmanuel's instrumental Classical Gas (originally by Mason Williams), and see how each of you interpret it.

I got the first couple, could almost hear a bunch of those in my head... never heard of Fat Larry or his band but with the sound it was almost exactly what I thought it would be like. Fun challenge!

Challenge: come up with a baseline you like that, with the same fingering in a "radically different" alternate tuning, is still musically pleasing. "Radically different" means at least two used strings are retuned by a different number of half steps.
Try the Good Bad and the ugly doing all parts on bass with 50 of you playing each part in the little windows. You are absolutely freaking amazing. Keep it up.

As a keyboard player on the bass players stage side, I'm often watching his fret playing to check myself, especially when I'm first learning an arrangement. I actually guessed a couple right even though I don't play any of those songs. Very cool exercise, especially when playing live and your monitor mix isn't perfect, it really helps to know other instruments. :)

Runaway by Jamiroquai didn't sound right here but it's an absolutely epic bassline played by Ian Turner.
I'm really suprised that Charles says he doesn't know many Jamiroquai tracks with them being such a bass driven band from the Stuart Zender days. I'd have thought most bass players would be upon Jamiroquai
Lol the first 6 ones are propably also the first ones that any bassits wants to learn. The later 4 are usually the ones where beginners start to struggle and Nr. 11 is the one where they start questioning their life choices! XD
