1. Create a study time line 2. Set goals in each study session 3. Get a study buddy 4. Tell people that you are going to study 5. Schedule work time and fun time 6. Create to do list 7. Make a reward jar 8. Avoid distraction 9. Study in a library 10. Study away from your bed
I am procrastinating by watching this video on how to stop procrastinating. I have one essay standing between me and the end of the semester, but, ugh.. essays.
Problem with the study buddy lol You need to find a study buddy who's equally or more willing to stick to studying as you. That's why study buddies have never worked for me. No one I know takes studying in groups seriously.
I just want to thank you, you are the reason my grades are finally starting to turn around I'm so grateful you're on RUclips,, we all are!! Love you❤️❤️❤️
So glad I've "discovered/found" your channel. This is the second video of yours I've watched and It's as I'm procrastinating. These seem so simple but I never really though some of these methods worked, but I guess it's because I never fully committed to sticking with them or doing them properly. Definitely going to work on the doing all you've suggested. Cheers Jess.
+Study With Jess Thanks for the video! Procrastination is something I've struggled with since I was a child . . . Not to mention the fact that not even two years ago I was officially diagnosed with ADD. I'm in my latter twenties. Creating a schedule for study/homework time is included in my victory plan for next semester. I do have a question, though. When you mention a reward jar, what kind of rewards would they be? A small piece of candy? A gift card? Apart from time away from homework, I can't think of many other rewards I could fit into a jar on my desk. Do you have any examples?
+Heismyrock3 Hi! I'm glad you liked today's video! I hope my tips can help you with your studies and make studying a lot easier :) I like the idea of choosing some rewards that would take roughly 5-30 minutes each. For example, making a cup of tea, calling a friend, going for a jog, playing with a pet or watching a show on tv on RUclips :) Anything that can help break up your study sessions and stop you from feeling tired or restless. Sometimes it's nice to also make time for bigger rewards after completing a major assignment such as going to the movies, a party or shopping. I hope these help! :)
Study With Jess That does help! I wasn't sure if you meant food/money rewards or if you meant the type of rewards you mention above. I like the suggestions you made! Thank you so much for your swift reply!
thanks! these are really helpful. I actually do half (or maybe just a few) of these and it's really helpful , especially the one with studying AWAY from your bed. thanks again Jess! that was awesome! :)
Something else that might help is to identify why you are procrastinating. If you're just not in a studying mood, then taking a "just do it" attitude will help. If you're anxious about your homework or upcoming exam, then try some positive self talk and relaxation techniques.
+Beautiful Mind Thank you gorgeous! I'm so happy that you always enjoy my videos and that my study tips are helpful :) Have a great week and a happy holiday! xo
Seishaa Shivanni you can try making mindmaps and flowcharts about the topic and connect the on formation and also break up complex or complicated information into a condensed form. making mnemonics or songs on the topic helps as well. hope you find these tips helpful
Jess i love you so soo much, your videos are amazing. I was wondering if you could make a video showing how to study from home and how to organize if i don't have any classes and just study by my own
omg the rewards jar is an amazing idea haha :D I'm definitely going to do something like that for next year! Thanks for the tips Jess, and happy holidays!
This is such a great vid Jess!! I got super motivated and really these tips are going to help me when my winter break finishes!! Thank you for this vid I know it helped me and many people!! You are truly my inspiration😊💗💗
hi jess :) i just want to ask that, i always get distracted by RUclips and facebook on my laptop and cannot study as i am using my laptop to study so is there is any apps that can block those websites for my study time and then i can unblock them afterwards? also i never stick to my timetable because whenever i came back from college i have my dinner and then back to study; but i usually fell asleep after some time and that messed up with my timetable so is there is a way to not fall asleep when studying , i know that i usually study on my bed and i asked my parents to buy a study table for me but they said firstly it's not gonna fit in ur room and secondly you can study there or go in sitting room and study there which i dont like because i like to study in my room but would like to have study table as all the things are in my room. please answer my questions :) Thanks ;)
U HAVE to study on desk. The more you are standing you are more likely to memorize. So if u are on floor studying u cant memorize easily but more ure "getting up" (desk, having straight back) and the most obvious standing...you can do it easily AND WALK! (around room or whatev)
Ika Syaira thanks for that, actually i was asking what kinda apps i can use because many of them i have seen on other youtube channels are all available on Mac laptop but i have windows so couldn't find one but now u told me one which is great, just tried it out :)
New sub!I like this video because I procrastinate hard and I'm entering high school soon. It's going to be busy.I'll be watching more and more school-related or improving videos. How about to wake early?By yourself?I'm having a hard time with that.I always need to have my phone charging next to me which is risky.Thanks.NEW SUB!

Hi Jessica, what lipstick were you wearing in this video? It's like a pinkish plum colour, I love it Also, great video, I wrote down the tips and I'm gonna use them literally right now !
for me personally, i cant study at a library, because i always read my notes out loud, sometimes in different accents and tones, to help me remember it! haha
Omgosh, I looove your videos!! I have a question, how did you think of all of your products for your educationary line!?!? They're so unique and soooo helpful!! Can you show how to write essays (another video) and the Cornell note takin method
+Tanni Khatun Thanks so much :) I'm glad you loved it! Also, I'm so happy you like my range of products from seed.ED Educationery! I am always thinking up new ways to make studying more fun and easy and so whenever people say "I wish there was something to help me with..." I always try and think of a way to create a product around that :) I guess I am just constantly looking to create things that I wish I had to help me when I was at school :) xo
Hi Jess, here's a question for your study party, is it better to write in blue or black pen in a class notebook/which one is better for remembering or reading back over at exam times?
Q1: how to get motivation to get work done Q2: what should you have on your desk to ensure that your desk isn't cluttered and that you have everything that you need Q3: how to organize files/binders/folders Q4: what are the essentials for school?
This video was so helpful!!!!!!!Now,for the Q&A: ,,Earlier,I was AMAZING at math, but our teacher is not so good at explaining stuff,so not everybody gets good grades,I tried the stuff with the notes, but sometimes I always end up getting a "B" .I started not liking math, how can I motivate myself?,please help, love your videos!"
love this =) too bad i'm procrastinating right now! OKAY, NOW I'M NOT! PS can you have your tips in the description box or have a link so then people can print them out? thx!!
hey jess!dont forget to answer my question at your study party.my exams are going on and i take classes from a tuttor at 4:30 p.m and i have rest of the day free.many a times a try to study but i never do.so tell me how to study properly and a good schedule for exam studying.i hope u will help me
Thhhhhhank u for this video my final exam will be on 14 January and i feel lazy for studying because i have done with my TMA last week. Thank u so much again for this video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Jess, my problem is that I can't study no matter how hard I try I either always get distracted or I can't memorize anything that I studied and end up getting bad grades I'm also not a very bright student and my biggest weakness is definitely maths I always try studying but I just can't and it really annoys me because I need to pass this year but with this problem I have I really think I might fail this year please help me
I love this video!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wondering if you can help me? I would love if you can maybe do 'how to organized your desk' Because I have a lot of stationary, like pens highlighters etc. But I also want to keep it clean so that I can have space to lay out papers. And i was wondering if you can maybe do like "recommended things that should be on your desk" and the 'not recommened things":) Thank you so much! your tips help me a lot:)
thank you jess! I have finals this week and I was like I am going to study that later. Now I am going to tell the world that I will study, haha. Sorry if my English is bad I am from Montenegro .
What I find my problem is, is since I home school I get distracted while watching my classes on my computer. So instead of working on stuff like I should be, I get distracted with stuff like pinterest and such. I'm sure all these tips will help me in the upcoming semester though :)
please Jess help... I am good at maths but, still some times at need of bigger calculations..... the result will always be incorrect.. Please make a video to improve calculations.
These may not be for me because I have Down syndrome, but I just want to ensure that I am doing my homework, and sometimes study. However, making time for breaks and after homework and study sessions. With a doubt, I believe it does not hurt to take break. And always, occasionally important, especially also recommend bottles that replaces plastic. I'm not much of a eco friendly person..but I hate when people say, " I don't like wide ruled". However when I had thought about this.."Don't fuc**** mess with me. Waste of life." I would not say that, so perhaps arguing is alright, but having negative and dark thoughts are not okay. So, this is incredibly hard for me because I'm both negative, and positive. In addition, I wanna organize my life...but yes using a diary or journal besides ridiculously purchasing an expensive planner. No! Just get a journal, notebook, composition book or diary and decorate the cover back and front to make it yours. So, you would not be wasting paper.
1. Create a study time line
2. Set goals in each study session
3. Get a study buddy
4. Tell people that you are going to study
5. Schedule work time and fun time
6. Create to do list
7. Make a reward jar
8. Avoid distraction
9. Study in a library
10. Study away from your bed

making mnemonics or songs on the topic helps as well.

What type of music is best to listen while studying?
They say classical
Xian-Qi Huang i think it's baroque.
Instrumental. There's an app called Pandora and there's a playlist called Instrumental music for studying ( it really helps you concentrate )
