This is why MMA needs the Ali Act. When the UFC is refusing to give you a fight because you're not signing their bad contract, you should be able to say "Ok then! I'm fighting the Bellator champion!". But MMA contracts have promotion exclusivity written into them and it's a huge detriment to fighters during their negociations. Fighters want to fight, but the UFC is the one making the fights. So they hold those opportunities hostage to force fighters' hands... We desperately need the Ali Act in this sport.

"You're not going up to LeBron James during game 7 of the finals with a contract." - Yup, you're not doing that to anybody for that matter sounds like an inside job to me was pulled on Francis, Francis gets contract negotiations before his important match up and then, after we can assume things go: 'up in the air' he gets a knee injury from an "excited" sparring partner. Like that's pretty fucking blatant. Or am I just jumping to conclusions? I fear that Francis will never be physically safe if he stays in the UFC. Even gane was attacking that knee in the fight.
Sounds like a conspiracy but it could be true. Nobody knows what is going on inside the minds of crazy businessmen.

Honestly, with all due respect, some people in this comment section need to shut up. What do you guys mean by saying that he should vacate the belt? This man worked HARD to be where he is. Why should he give it up to those who haven't earned it? And to those saying that he is greedy for demanding more financial compensation, do you guys know how much a training camp cost? Do you also know UFC fighters don't have health insurance and he has to cover his medical bills for fight injuries, etc. alone? If you were a fighter, will you enter the octagon and have someone beat up on you for $600k? Please, let's put ourselves in these guys' shoes. They fight to entertain us - we pay good money to see it, and the UFC cashes out on their sweat. It's not right. Just give them a share which they can use to take care of themselves. And lastly, to those saying that he needs new management...do you know how hard it is to find loyal people in the business world? He has a team who are his family in the 🇺🇸. Let them be. We want to see more about the lovely Ngannou! What does he like to do in a day? Is he going to do gaming like Demitrius Johnson? If he does gaming I would love to see him play some of the old games like Spyro, or Crash Bandicoot, or Silent Hill, any games from that Era if it's the best ones.

I wish Francis had better management. This guy isn’t getting the job done. Francis needs a fresh start with his management in my opinion. Maybe hire Ali Abdelazeez (spelling?) perhaps? He seems to be able to cut deals with the UFC and get his fighters paid appropriately. This current manager of Francis’ has just burned his bridges with the UFC.
