Thank you so much for this absolute gem!! I am so amazed because all these years being a hard-core fan, I'd never heard or even that Joan had performed these Woody Guthrie songs (except for Deportees)!... Wow! What a surprise! Gee, she's really sung EVERYTHING!! haha

First time I saw this. Thank your for posting it. Obviously I've gone to every Joanie concert in London for a few decades. Most important to me, though, is to honour Woody. A genius visionary. Joanie's music will be remembered for many generations. But she didn't change the world. Woody did. Plus, she got to know THE TRUE LIFE-CHANGING GENIUS of the 20th Century -- The unwashed phenomonon, inspired by Woody.

This beautiful soul with her marvellous angelic voice absolutely shines in her integrity and devotion to the marginalized and mistreated peoples in a terribly unjust world. Rarely has a voice for social Justice pulled at our heart strings with such passion and beauty. Abrazos Joan!

Baez changed the world for many, maybe not you. For 60 years her name has been synonymous with and the role model for music and social action.

No, I don't think she did. The best-known versions of "So Long..." are by The Weavers and by Woody himself.
