Today I want to share my arrangement of “Largo” from “Winter” by Antonio Vivaldi.
“The Four Seasons” is one of the most famous classical music cycles, it consists of the four violin concertos, entitled “Spring”, “Summer”, “Autumn”, and “Winter”, in which the composer tried to express the atmosphere of each of the four seasons.
It is always quite a challenge to arrange classical music and ensemble pieces in particular, but I did my best to preserve the original composition while adapting it to sound idiomatic on the guitar.
This video was made back in 2017 and I originally wanted to simply share the old version, but after watching it I realized that the old mix isn’t up to my current standards and decided to remaster it, so now you can enjoy this new version with better sound quality.

Lovely, Daria. I've made a similar arrangement in C. I like the way you keep the rhythm with arpeggios instead of a repeated bass line. Also at the ending,in place of the long trill. I can't see a PayPal button on your website. So nice to hear you back playing again. Joseph UK
Thank you, Joseph! Strings play pizzicato arpeggios in the original, so going with simply bass line as accompaniment would be a bit too lazy :) It would work if the arrangement is aimed to be at the accessible technical level, but I was trying to preserve the feel of the original piece. This video is from 2017 by the way, not me currently, but thanks, cheers!
