Laura you inspire me to create beauty (which is more fulfilling than weeding all the time!.). Haha!
I added a drift of rose hips and some small pines cones to my first succulent arrangement. Beautiful!

I love your videos! I would love to see a series re watering a succulent arrangement over a period of time. That is, show each time you check an arrangement for water, how you evaluate whether to water, whether you water or wait at that point, how you water it. I bought one of the syringes you recommended and have started building arrangements but I need more info about watering successfully. Thank you.

Finally I understand a little about succulents. I really like that they don't need a lot of maintenance. And I like your tips about feeding and watering them. Good job, as usual, Laura! Very cute arrangement. I want to come and visit your nursery this Fall. I'm fairly new at gardening and love your videos. I learn so much and you make it look so fun! I only live about 42 miles away. It will be a nice day trip! Maybe I can drag my girl friend to come with. ( It would be really fun if we could meet you.)

Great video, so much helpful information! I know that plant containers need drainage holes and you reference that all the time ;-) For my regular pots, I always use the tray for that size pot. You have shared several videos using fun, designer pots such as this faux wood container. You showed us it has a drainage hole however, as I have wondered with some of the other containers you have graciously shared with us, how are you protecting your table tops when these containers do not have a tray to catch any run off? Thank you!

My son is a wheelchair person and he wants to sit out in the garden with me while I work so I bought him a screened in tent. It's 10 ft square and you could see right thru the screen. It was $40 at Academy Sports and Outdoors. They have some that just pop up. No mosquitoes ever and no need to apply bug spray.

Amazing video content on your channel. I have a question. For the succulent arrangements how to check when the arrangements need to be watered? I mean since in the arrangements usually the "stick your finger in the soil" test cannot be done as the succulents are crowded together. So in that case how to check if the soil has dried out or not? Thanks in advance!

Hi Laura, I do succulent composition bowls. The succulents I can get my hands on always are peat grown. I know peat is the worst medium for succulents so I try & remove all or most of the peat from the roots. Even getting them so called bare they are so peat bound sometimes I have to soak them then use a skewer & hose to remove the peat from the roots or the roots will get hydrophobic. Learned this the hard way by losing plants. Once peat dries out it will not accept water, it just rolls right off. And everything I have read said that you let the plants dry out then give a good drink. In removing the peat most likely I damage the roots. How long should I wait to water them? I have been waiting at least 1 week for any damage to heal. Is this long enough? Also I make my own gritty mix, been doing better w/ that, faster draining. Just have to fertilize a little more as there is no soil, just coco coir. Last yr. for the 1st. time had a fungus gnat problem using compost, in growing Tropical plants for over 30 yrs. it is the first time. Not a bad 1, but 1 fungus gnat is 1 to many for me. Thank you for any advice. Karen
