    Would you consider shared ownership of a car or do you think it's too political/difficult? Let me know below!

    I bought my 08 plate, 107k on clock 5 door DSG for 6.8k in 2017. It's an interesting car for sure. Would like a new car but i cant bring myself to sell the 32. I think ill keep it forever. Been 4 years now and 25k miles later.. 125k miles and timing chain still original.

    Such a shame you didn't get to enjoy the R32 for longer before getting all those issues. I've had mine for 4 years and never had any big issues but I guess like any car there are good and bad ones and you don't know what your gonna get sometimes. With regards to the timing chain as long as its been serviced on time it should last the life of the car, people worry to much about what is really a non issue. Great videos man and keep doing what your doing👍

      It is indeed a shame. I do keep thinking about having an R32 in my life. I won't say what a future video entails but let's just say I do end up selling my M135i and look at alternatives and the idea of an R32 does come up. Make sure you're subscribed and hopefully you'll see that video land really soon

      It's one of those cars, isn't it. It's hard to replace once it's gone due to its age as you'll never find a like for like replacement

    Good point about the VR6 being hard to work on. Very cramped in that Mk5 engine bay with that much displacement

      Definitely, any sort of labour cost is very high due to the amount of work needed I'm afraid

    Mate found your channel on calvins car diary show. Love the vr6 engine. Have you ever considered a mk1 TT 3.2 vr6 same engine as the golf r32 but with 1/4 of the price. I have two coupe and manual gearbox roadster, I bought Calvins old sliver mk1 tt. 175k still going strong. Love the content keep it up bro.

      Glad you managed to find my channel through CCD and you're also a VR6 fanatic. I'd love to get my hands on a MK1 TT 3.2 and see the bang for buck you get considering they cost as little as £2000!

    Even Thu I ain’t a bmw (fan) but I agree with u on that is not abt buying a car only u gotta think abt the maintenance running cost in general & comparing it to the m135 ur a winner✨

    • @CarNitty
      @CarNitty  2 года назад

      Definitely, if you're looking for displacement in a hatchback, BMW are the best due to the longitudinal engine and engine bay for maintenance costs. Shame interior space is compromised

    Think most people have respect for the R32 however, as you stated, it’s a car that the average person can’t own due to its high running costs. I follow the guy with your old R32 and I would’ve never knew you owned it. It probably wasn’t meant to be but you’ve still got an M135i which is a brilliant car.

      Hey Ben, been a while since I've seen you comment. Good to see your name crop up.
      Any real petrolhead rates and loves the R32 but yes, it's not for everyone due to the running costs. That's sort of what makes it special. It's in the same road tax band as a E92 M3! It's basically a lesser V8 I say. Beautiful noise and expensive to run but at a lesser cost.
      Don't regret passing the R32 for the M135i for a second. A 24 month ownership review will go live on the channel in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for that. Also an M car compared against my M lite too! Stay tuned!

      If you sell it, there's honestly nothing that has the same personality that can replace it. They just don't make it like these anymore. I think you should keep it for as long as you can and that will ensure the timing chain will get done rather than be passed around as people will look at avoiding the repair bill. You've had it long enough and I think the cars found it's permanent home with you now
