    very clear instructions abt taking up the slack. I'm in chiro school and we learn it differently - keep the patient's neck flexed..but some books describe 2 versions - keep neck flexed to treat extension dysfunction vs. extend neck and patient's elbows kinda superior to treat flexion dysfunction.

    This is old school chiropactic and osteopath adjusting. Chiropractors are the last master adjustors. Osteopaths hardly do it anymore. Good to see PT's starting to see the benefits of it. Manipulation/adjusting is such a great tool.

    That is too low for this technique, I use prone thoracic thrust for that (rotational P/A)

    BTW.....this manipulation is wrong as he show on the video. He combination 2 another manipulation technique: "manipulation Th spine with mobilization costae" When you like mobilization Th spine with this method you need a little flexion with peak on mobilization part, for next distraction. Open your book and repeat it. Or mobilization costae but on the video you must hand under patient take to the angulus costae. ;)))

    Great Vid... I absolutely hate the pistol grip.... flat hand works beautifully... excellent tip on taking up all the shoulder slack!

    I do a similar move by myself. Sitting in a chair I wrap both arms behind my back. Then
    I extend my spinal posture vertical with the backhand of both fists on the mid thoracic. I then thrust upward with both thumbs on both sides of the spine to a target under the high V of the scapula. Full release of vertebrae in local area.

    I find it hilarious that PT's trash chiropractors but yet when you want to get results, you try to copy it.

      maybe it's because it works for some problems, but we don't use the one size fits all approach a lot of chiro's have

    • @sohunt18
      @sohunt18 9 лет назад +9

      and because of the number of patients I see who say they tried a chiro who actually made the pain worse because they manipulated when they shouldn't have

      sohunt18 That could be equally countered by how many patients I have seen that say PT did nothing but exercise therapy, and when we did an adjustment the pain went away.
