    Steve, I have been watching several of your videos on blackjack. I found the information presented are extremely helpful. I have a dumb question. Do you or Henry believe in winning (or losing) streak (before a new deck shuffle) to adjust the amount of bet? Thanks in advance.

    In some casinos (in cyprus for ex) , there is late surrender option but since there is not hole card, you can basicly surrender regardless that the dealer has bj or not . Everyone on the table makes decisions BEFORE the dealer takes the next card from the shoe
    BUT, you can NOT surrender if the dealer shows an Ace . Still it is nice to cut losses with 14-15-16 s against a dealer 10 (in some cases even against a 9)

    I have seen a extra double rule. Works great if you double lets say with 6-3 which makes 9 against a dealer 6 maybe .. and boom you get a 2 . Now you have 11 and normally you are left with that 11
    But with extra double you can take another card after your original double.
    But with the extra double , your wager is NOT the double amount of your first double, but double of your initial bet
    Example . Your bet is 10 $ , you double and your bet is now 20 $ , you double again and your bet becomes 30 $ (not 40$)
    Still a nice one

      @TheJackpotGents  3 года назад

      John Patrick was a well-known gambling "expert" in the late 1990s. I read some of his books and watched some of his videos. Unfortunately, he seemed to give a lot of bad advice that was based on his hunches as a long-time gambler, rather than on the true mathematics of those gambling games. There seems to be a Facebook page for him, but it was last updated in 2019. Maybe he has passed on to that big casino in the sky?

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  3 года назад +1

      With early surrender you get to surrender your hand before the dealer knows whether or not they have blackjack. With an ace up, the dealer will have a 10-value card underneath about 30% of the time. With late surrender you would lose all of those hands because they will check for a blackjack before you can surrender. With early surrender you can surrender before that happens.

    3 card bust is a push is the worst rule for the player, I can’t deal with it. I like buster blackjack. I usually bet 2 units main, 1 unit side bet on buster, and you can bust and the if dealer also busts and you still break even on a 3 card bust, and win money on a 4+ card bust

Luckily, I found one this last trip to Vegas and we had a blast! We had a sweet patient dealer so that helped as well.

    And my general RULE FOR GAMBLING IS ,, IF YOU CAN'T LOOSE ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE GAMBLING AT ALL .
    SO IF YOU CAN LOOSE WITHOUT GUILT ,,, THAN MORE POWER TO YOU .
    IF YOUR THINKING IS WOULDA ,, COULDA ,, SHOULDA . THEN YOU SHOULDN'T.
