Was dreading this when it was first shown but I'm warming up to the idea of an episodic Kodaka story, but now I fear this has no chance of getting localized given how much text could be involved. 😔

@@antigodyui4020 the issue is the amount of text. Lots of games like the higurashi series dont get localized because there is so much text that would need to get translated. It all depends on how well the anime is received otherwise the company would see no point in translating so much text for not much profit in return.
I'm glad for Kodaka trying new things, sitting on one franchise is more harming than benefitial. And I also like that he doesnt want to distance himself from Dnaganronpa which opens a possibility of him coming back to write new DR story in any shape or form, but I hope that he atl east will work freely and happily on other projects, develop his writing skills even further and create more complex stories for any game that will come out next under his pen.
Agreed on the sitting on one franchise thing companies just take out the money belt and milk the fuck out of the popularity of one success but sometimes you just have to take a breather

@@tonyinfinite5174 I dont think Spike Chunsoft really sits on Danganronpa needle like Ubisot on Assassin's Creed's. But Kodaka was surely were doing mostly Danganronpa stuff and by V3 it was quite obvious he was getting tired of it. So, a new breath, a new franchise and new tops and down would definitely benefit him, and I wont mind to wait if we will see Kodaka refreshing Danganronpa franchise in like 3-5 years or more.
I would normally agree with this however Danganronpa is such a unique concept, and it would take a long time for fans to get sick of such a game. Since new characters are different, and atmosphere is different. If there was 53 Danganronpa games I would play all 53 lol.
This game will no doubt be amazing. Visuals, storyline, everything. The only problem is trying to imagine how long it would take to 100% complete the game. 😂

I swear Kodaka and Rui Komatsuzaki makes some of the coolest characters designs and while I'm not a big baseball fan, I can totally see this being badass in game/anime form. I do hope this comes to console because I don't like mobile games like that

I’m so excited for this I’m glad it seems so ambitious and detailed! Tookyo’s other projects so far, aside from Akudama Drive I suppose, have been notably budget-tight. Let’s hope it gets translated to several languages right when it launches, they were good with that in their other games! Glad it’s shaping up to be a bit beyond what you expect from a mobile game, also the designs rule.

I would consider trying it, another thing I hope for is the ability to play the game offline. I kinda wish some mobile games had the ability to play offline.
It looks like it's overly ambitious and will underperform. I hope I'm wrong of course, but the too good to be true talk around the franchise is really making me doubt what kind of fate it has in store for itself.

They're also trying their best to not be generic in story/gameplay aswell so that's exciting

The only thing I didn't like about Drive was that I felt like they took out hacker way too early to the point where I was left thinking he was going to come back and I hated that the main character wasn't actually some special person because in the first couple episodes they would somewhere allude to something special about her mind the way that they would portray her making split decisions
I'm honestly super excited to see what Kodaka and his team could whip up! The variety of story types in Tribe Nine honestly makes me really hyped for it!
Now after watching anime, really disappointed with the character outlook, hope the game at least have beautiful sprite like in the game trailer

In a mobile game? I doubt it, mobile games are always awfull and Im sad this game its gonna be mobile, its gonna damage its potential
I didn't really like Akudama Drive, and I didn't really like World's End Club, and I didn't really like Death Come True. I like probably half of the things Kodaka has written for, being the mainline DR games. I don't really like Ultra Despair Girl's writing, or the DR3 anime either. I'm not that kind of entitled fan that would demand a creator only make what I enjoy from them, so I'm glad that Kodaka is exploring his passions and such, but I'm probably more doubtful than hopeful that I'll really latch onto much in this new thing they're doing.
It kind of reminds me of Sakaguchi back at Square with Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, where Sakaguchi, a creator who had only tasted massive success with Final Fantasy, and a guy who valued creation and innovation more than anything, became extremely overconfident in his idea of the "virtual actress". He felt like he was going to launch a whole new industry where the future would be full of animated movies that casted established animated actors and actresses that could be licensed out for other films. It sounded ambitious and cutting edge, but it was just weird and not a good idea and it just faltered and died and cost the company millions. The idea of launching a whole universe all at once where you're trying to create a cinematic universe from scratch already sounds like a "in over your head" kind of project, that could easily fall apart from hubris. I think Kodaka is very talented but I think he's talented at certain things, and not all creators know what it is they're actually really good at, they just keep exploring their ideas and better understanding the medium and themselves. I don't know, I hope I love it, but I feel like I've been swindled into expecting everything from Kodaka to be great, when a lot of it just isn't that memorable. I could easily see this failing to actually have charming and novel characters by failing to strike the right tone or pacing. I think Kodaka's writing style works best in Danganronpa because the story takes place over multiple days, and most of it isn't that urgent, it's aimless and low tension during daily life, but in something like Akudama Drive, everything feels rushed and underdeveloped and they act like you care about things you feel next to no attachment to.
In any case, I'll always support a creator doing what he or she wants to do, and this could end up being really fun and interesting. I just can't escape the seed of doubt, and I of course feel a little sad that everything I've gotten from Kodaka after V3 has been pretty underwhelming, but that was my fault for internally placing those expectations upon him in the first place when of course he's just a guy like any other, trying to explore and make good art.

@@Siphyr why you ask? because the number of people that play mobile games in more places than the bathroom while theya re taking a shit are like 1 out of 500. there are contries where mobile games are big but to the rest of the world they are a waste of time. why play on mobile when you can play on a switch or a ds? not only that but having it be a mobile game heavily limits how the game can look and the controlls the game will have, it also gives less way for people to notice details as the screen of a phone is smaller than that of a computer or tv.
