What the Doco doesn't focus on is the mental implications of giving away a baby you held for 9 months , in a nation with no Social Security .
Yes they sold it, but the pain remains.
It also overcompensates the donor side while giving near no exposure tot he mother's situation after the delivery.

I feel like they need to provide the surrogate mother with some serotonin blocker for when the child is born so that she does not form the bond that naturally occurs when a mother births a child, and vise versa (as in, the genetic parents receiving a serotonin inducer so that they bond with the child)
The experience must be induced so that the sides feel towards the child as it should be. But that's just an idea, I'm not sure.

@@timthetoolmanasshole724 no, the child didn't know the mother, if my child was taken away from me at directly birth I would expect that it would still instantly assume that it's being held by its true mother, and I say mother and not parents because a baby doesn't likely know what a father is when it's born, since it didn't develop it's sensory/nervous system yet. It's the surrogate mother that usually suffers here, not the child who was wanted from the start (unless they abandoned the child as many "parents" do).

If you are so very pressed that it be genetically related than do you really want a baby for the joy of parenthood or is it just an inane desire to procreate... I mean sure try it a few ways for fertility or even an attempt or two at surrogacy but once those have failed and the obsession is still there I guess I find it an oddity that I simply must question what exactly their motivation is

People who desperately want a child choose to get pregnant (by whatever means they utilize). People who get pregnant by accident did not choose to get pregnant.
Also, we mustn't forget the "egg donor" industry. It is actually killing young women who, for money or even "altruistically" (separating mother, motherhood and child is not altruistic) donate their eggs. Indeed it is the exploitation of the less privileged. I would say India must ban this or provide tangible rights to surrogates as well as the IPs. There are lots of cases that fit right with the exploitation of human rights. Ukraine has become very advanced and well aware of the rights and laws, therefore, he has become the most sought country for surrogacy. It protects the rights of surrogates as well as the IPs.

One thing that bothers me is when my parents, or other relatives just tell me to be happy childless. They don't understand how it feels. I'm considering adoption. I cannot forsee what the outcome will be, but I'll try. Adopting a child is not a replacement for the one I lost. I want to raise an orphan so I can guide and nurture him/her.

It is clearly large profits because of the growth seen in the business. again on the backs of the poor.
what I am saying is if the money was shared more evenly and regulations with longterm studies made this can benefit everyone equally.

I oppose surrogacy process and it needless to say that surrogacy can be a very expensive affair and it is therefore not an option for those of few financial means. However, contrary to myth, many commissioning couples are not rich in the traditional sense but a middle class or upper middle class.
The surrogate mothers are typically, but not always, in the lower income range and therefore a typical argument is, "The rich are exploiting the poor!”. And I believe it is the main argument why surrogacy is prohibited in many countries. Unfortunately, there are some countries like Ukraine for example which still allow such kind of exploitation in their territory. That’s why today a number of people are going there for the surrogate baby.

I honestly don't understand why people make such a big deal out of this and call it "controversial." I don't see why it's wrong to help a couple have a child when they are unable to do so on their own. If it is a gestational surrogacy, then the child is not even genetically related to the surrogate. She just carries the baby for 9 months and do something wonderful for someone else. Some people just don't want to adopt and I don't think there is anything wrong with it. All of you who are leaving hateful comments probably can have children on your own. Imagine that you can't. Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone could help you? A mother is more than someone who carries a child. A mother is someone who brings you up and cares for you. I could see how badly those couples wanted children and they would have been great parents. The only bad thing about this is that many Indian women who are involved are doing it for the wrong reasons - Money. I hope those agencies educate these women and prepare them for this journey by giving them good health care and living conditions. It is not the most natural way to have children, but it is an amazing thing to help a couple become parents and there is nothing wrong with it.

    • @rayondesoleil661

Hasi R,but women do this for many reason the most important is to try to help their children's and family first with money which they get, and secondly they want to help others family, that's known and all surrogate women say this, the first motivation is money but it is not the only one, and the pedophile father, I talked about one famous case of surrogate mothers, its is known in all world, the Baby Gammy case, you can search her in youtube there is many videos about him, the trisomy baby abandonate by his biologic parents, they are Australians, and his father is a pedophile...that just to tell you that not all parents who ask surrogate mother to make a baby not all of them are good parents as they show us in this video.

    • @TheYasmineFlower
      @TheYasmineFlower 6 лет назад

+Hasi R What you have to remember is that the surrogacy industry works on money. And they WANT women to be surrogates "for free" - that way, they don't have to pay them anything.
Please also note that actual surrogacy-conceived individuals, as well as donor-conceived individuals, are already adults and many are opposed to surrogacy and sperm and egg donation (those often go together, because the "intended parents" can literally custom-order a baby according to their wishes with other people's eggs and sperm). It harms the children that are born through it. And it exploits women - pregnancy is a dangerous process in humans, and many surrogates face health complications from the process ranging from mild to permanently changing (including the loss of their own fertility and organs) to fatal.
And we can't even say that regulating surrogacy would change all of that, because it never does. It should be banned - and THEN debated thoroughly, so that no more women and children are harmed until lawmakers can come up with a solution.
The human rights of others can not be disregarded just because people suffer with infertility. People suffer a wide variety of issues, many of them can't be changed, but somehow, infertile people should get a pass for doing whatever they can, no matter how ethical, to change their circumstances? I'm sure cancer patients would love the option. But no, instead, infertile people pump their money into adoption, surrogacy and egg/sperm/embryo donation industries, rather than into medical research to actually cure causes of infertility. Sure, makes sense.

  • @deeramires1485
    @deeramires1485 5 лет назад +1

I'm so tired of people who write about adoption under videos about surrogacy. Why don't you just go and adopt a baby instead of teaching infertile people how to live their lives? I think it's wrong to even compare surrogacy and adoption. As was said so many times already, surrogacy is a way of infertility treatment. I had cancer of the uterus so I can't carry a baby by myself. I chose surrogacy to have children, is it a crime? It is my baby and sm just helped us to carry our son. I don't consider surrogacy as something bad and wrong. This procedure gives people hope and happiness to infertile couples. Thanks to surrogacy we have our son and I have family I've been dreaming about.

I completely agree with many commentators. India was the worst variant for infertile couples. But I understand that people who used surrogacy there. For many of them it was the last chance to have children. They can`t afford to use surrogacy in other countries. In the US one need to have more than $100 000 to do it. It`s impossible to get such money for ordinary people. I work in one of the clinics in CA. We deal with surrogacy and ART as a whole. We advise many our patients to go abroad. About a year ago Argentina was a perfect variant. Bu now Zika is widespread there. So I can`t recommend South America as a surrogacy destination. Now many of our patients go to Georgia, some prefer to go to Ukraine. They offer good programs for small money. Everybody was satisfied with their work.

I hate the idea of basically incarcerating women for surrogacy until the baby is born. No baby farms. If a woman is a surrogate and doesn not have a home then funding should be provided for her to independently find a place. If there is a legit medical need and no proper hospitals near where the woman is staying then an entire apartment should be provided for the family. There are women in a freaking hall way on cots renting their wombs as though they were cattle. That disgusts me. They should be provided for during and after their pregnancy. Her husband and other kids should also be there in a nice place not a gd hallway. I consider it immoral to keep women in hallways and on site at a baby farm. But have no issue with surrogacy and considered it myself. But the offer for me way quite different. And there was absolutely no staying on premises at a glorified stall

Hi everyone. Dear it is really a very nice video. Actually the problem is that many people want their own baby who adopt their own characteristics. It is only possible with surrogacy. In surrogacy the eggs are placed in the healthy womb of surrogate mother. The surrogate mother then fertilizes the eggs and delivers the baby. As the eggs are of the couples so the produced offspring adopt the characteristics of the couple itself. This is the main reason that people choose surrogacy over adoption. Surrogacy indeed is a blessing for such couples. I really respect your point of view but what the fact is fact and we can't change people's perception. Thanks!

This is discrimination at the highest form, so just because some people have ‘disability’ and cannot conceive they by default are forced to adopt??? And this enforcement is not exploitation? Exploitation is forcing anything on anyone who is not willing to do it. All you self righteous people crying for the rights of orphan children are will fully exploiting the infertile couple by shoving adoption down their throats!

its not quite the same for some people. The baby can be made up of you and your wife instead of just a random adults offspring

aConcernedHuman it's not selfish just because they're infertile. Loads of people have biological children everyday.

Surrogates women carry only the baby produced by the male egg and her own ovule so it is not their own baby but it is the baby of the surrogate woman with the DNA of the other man.

It just blows my mid that people would spend so much time and money on IVF and surrogacy when there are babies-a-plenty to be adopted. Why does it matter so much that your baby looks like you?

There's actually NOT a lot of babies to be adopted. The adoption industry has to resort to more and more deceit, lies and illegalities in order to make any money.
Also, not everyone is fit to raise someone else's child. Being raised by people you are not related to requires extra care and understanding.
That said, surrogacy doesn't help, since it harms the surrogate as well as the child.

But a donor egg baby is not your baby. I don't think I could have a baby that belonged to my husband but not me. So sad women are faced with having to make that choice. That's heart wrenching.

This is the ultimate solution to the problem of infertility. But sadly there is no clinic in India you can trust. I better prefer the clinic in Ukraine for the treatment of infertility. Sometimes it's easy to get rid of this problem and sometimes it's tough to deal with this situation. It's good to have your surrogacy or IVF treatment from the experienced staff. This can help you out in many ways. Nowadays I am visiting the clinic situated in Ukraine for my treatment and I am having a great experience .

A very insightful video how surrogacy has been exploited in India and considered a blessing in another part of the world. However, in India, the legal laws must be established in order to keep the exploitation at bay. These women who know, get the proper medical attention after the delivery and do they retain their pre-pregnancy health? I would say, none should exploit other for a personal aim. The legal laws must be established to limit this pregnancy bazaar in India and given proper medical care and ensure the fertility clinics are well equipped providing skilled medical care.

Why is adoption only suggested to infertile people? There are more fertile people than infertile. Why shouldn't they be asked to adopt vs have biological children?

As if the tangled web of emotions that come along with surrogacy weren't complicated enough, legal issues can make the process even more of a struggle for mothers and families. While there's no doubt that carrying a baby for nine months and giving birth creates an emotional attachment, additional problems can arise if the surrogate has the legal option to keep the baby. Surrogacy is not equally enforceable in all states. This may mean that the intended parents have no legal right to claim the baby as their own. That may complicate the decision-making process for a surrogate who can't bear the thought of giving up the infant. For some women facing such challenges, reliance on a surrogate mother may be an option. Like the women whom they help, surrogate mothers may experience a host of emotional issues. I have been through surrogacy in Bio tex and I know the pain. There has also been stories of surrogate exploitation in some countries which is something bad.

They delivered the baby on a whole platter tho🤣. But frfr the gift of life is an amazing thing and being able to be a blessing to someone who can’t carry a baby for themselves is great when done the right way for the right reasons is amazing.
