Brings back memories. So much more fun back then. The whole thing felt more grounded with realistic prices for starters. Missions that were still GTA style (not over the top). You were an up and coming criminal, not a business owner or super advanced mercenary. Those were good times. Before the Rockstar greed and major push to over price everything and really force Shark Cards on everyone. Still glad they changed the $2000 charge every time you died though.
True now that I think of it every mission is totally over the top. Enemys take then bullets before they die and endlessly respawn if you don't move on. Even alternative attack routes are forbidden sometimes because you leave the area. This used to be a great sandbox shooter...
Sounds like someone couldn't evolve with the times. GTA Online has a legendary progression. It is pretty much a bigger badder progression of Fast and Furious. Imagine a vault car in GTA. Fucks wrong with people thinking you're supposed to be some back alley bandit for 10 years. But I bet you have something negative to say about that too.

“Everything was so buggy” - Oh? Can you name a few buggy things? I only recall the tutorial mission bug, which was fixed fairly quickly but never a real problem anyway (second attempt usually fixed it). Ofcourse, you could yeet yourself across the map using gates… but let’s be real, that was a feature
It’s that familiar saying where you wish that you could’ve known that you were in the good times before they’re gone. When GTA Online arrived it was such a cool new experience. Coming from the online experience of GTA 4 it was amazing to own house with a garage that can store your very own person vehicles. I spent so much time working toward earning enough to purchase that Eclipse Towers apartment. During the early days players spent their time showing off what they had unlocked vs now griefing and blowing everything up. It was really easy then to be placed in bad sport only lobbies. I remember micro transactions were shut off for several weeks so players had to grind for their GTA dollars vs purchase shark cards. I really miss old GTA Online before all the chaos that it has now become.
First time hopping into a lobby in 2013 I was speeding through the city and someone got a hold of a Titan. The way it came flying down towards me with sky scrapers surrounding us and me barely getting away from the explosion behind me. Everything felt so surreal at that moment. The first time playing GTA online was something else.
@@samkelly2175 He was just spinning the comments, memories of the old GTA Online came flooding back, and the dude suddenly remembered a Phil Collins song - "I Don't Care Anymore"😂
I never got to play on the old consoles, and I did feel kinda sad seeing that their online was shut down before I'd ever get a chance to play. Good to know I was wrong.
The old consoles version of gta was filled with modders who just put wind turbines in players spawn locations meaning you couldn't play the game unless you survive being flung into a building at 80mph
Mannn, I didn't realize how nostalgic this shit would've felt. I still remember getting outta middle school hopping on and just straight lovin' this game w the boys, now I'm in my damn 20s and gta 6 still ain't a thing yet! 😂😂
Back when GTA online wasn't about people on Mark 2s shooting you down. Such peaceful times back then I didn't play GTA Online PS3/Xbox360 edition mainly cause I wasn't old enough to play GTA but it sounds like it was peaceful and you didn't have to walk an inch while being scared if you'll get killed or not
The toxicity levels have always been the same. The thing that changed is you didn't have to do work in public lobbies. Everything was earned by grinding contact jobs for Martin and Lester.
I had created my character in 5 October 2013. This gave me nostalgia and left me blinded on what GTAO was eventually going to become in the next 10 years.
great memories, when i was still a child (2013-2015), i loved to watch gta online videos with my best friend on his windows 7 pc, with a square monitor. i will always miss those days :-(
I was 13 when this was released, got it day one. I was never really one of those to get games as soon as they came out but this one I shared with my brother. This game among others like the old halo games, dead island, Forza Horizon 1/2 really made my teenage years! So many memories! I literally never play games anymore. I don’t have friends to play with as I’m now 22 and we all grew up. It’s sad that one day you all just never play together again and frankly, never will.
I was also 13 when this released and remembered being mad hype to cop it day one. Still fortunate enough to have some friends from back then that I grew up with. Although most of us rarely play games together, we do still hang out and talk
This is so nostalgic I can only hope the first year of GTA VI can feel this breathing again. It probably will considering they'd be a brand new world to explore, with friends or without. New gameplay systems and innovations, gosh i can't wait for new experiences and memories to be made
One of the best memories I had from my first time playing Online was a big 8v8 match where the objective was one team had to collect a briefcase and escort it to their destination. But this happened on the very first day, so everyone was just duking it out on the streets with pistols. I remember how the briefcase somehow ended up being escorted by a Limo on one team and both sides turned into a demolition derby with cars they stole off the street trying to fight for the briefcase. By far the greatest experience I ever had with GTA Online, so I was really sad when I saw the current state of Online but seeing this really brought me back to those good ol' days.

I never remember playing GTAO without any dlc as I didn't have the game. But I do remember one christmas buying GTA V on the PS3 when it was on sale in the ps store, and for my surprise, my best friend bought it as well. So we spent probably hundreds of hours in the game. Such good times.
I've always missed old GTAO, and I'm so glad to hear we can play it again. Although I can't believe old GTAO is basically 10 years old already, crazy how fast time flies.
I forgot about the armored trucks. I remember the first day online came out and I got like 20 people in a selfie. Another thing I remember is the mechanic having to physically drive your vehicle to you and it was mostly just him nebulously driving away from you as you chase it around. 100% the oppressor mark II made me put up the game for years.
My god what a beautiful time it was to just chill in old GTAO, I remember when the XBOX ONE got released and I couldn't afford it so I was forced to play on XBOX 360. There was an insane amount of modders but it was so much fun, they weren't like PC modders, killing you and adding you so much money so you'll get ban, they were chill modders, they did everything to ensure that everyone had a good time during the session spawning the best cars so we can race them with eachother, teleporting us to specific locations and giving us weapons so we can all have a war, sometimes locking us in place and spawning bags of money on every player. The most remembered moment for me was when there was a full session and modder gave us snowballs and we had a snowball TDM, it might not be something special but for 11 year old me that didn't have idea snowballs were even ingame, it was everything for me. End of XBOX 360 gen was very fun on GTAO and I really miss it

I've always wanted to play GTA 5 due to it's fun and simulated criminal nature. But of course over time it began to rot. So, this gives me hope on ever playing what the young'ins used to experienced back in the day.
back then, there were less grinders and PvPers. Just a bunch of people in a bus doing chain robberies of convenience stores. Racing down steep hills and bmx stunting everywhere.
Best early GTAO memory I have is when this random guy stole a Limo, picked me up and proceeded to drive around the lobby picking up like 4 or 5 other people. He drove like a mad man & ramped a mountain with all of us inside. Guy in the back had his window down, then emoted like he was jacking off while we were in mid-air. Teenage me was in tears.
Man, first days of GTAO were super fun, regardless of how chaotic they were. Also, feels weird feeling nostalgia towards a game that's still up and running, with new DLCs coming out. Haven't played it in years though, due to toxicity and lack of people that just want to RP a little instead of blowing up everything in sight for no reason.
I remember that this was the first game I ever played online when it cane out and I was eleven years old. Just playing a mission with other people made me so happy and I still remember vividly the smile I had from ear to ear when I finished the mission. Time really flies man.

I will never understand people who prefer this boring version of gta It's like minecraft players complaining about new textures, and yet I'm a veteran myself You are no different than boomers who are like "It was better in the old days" when in reality everything was worse
Im remeber back then their was no tryhards bullying people. And if one player had a tank. People from all over the map would team up and that feeling you got when that tank finally blew up even tho you died many times taking it down, it didnt matter. Those days.

@@javascriptkiddie2718 Being a business owner, owning several smuggling businesses, an agency, a nightclub, an arcade, an auto repair place... a bikie clubhouse.. all that stuff is fine, it makes sense, if you have the overhead, you can go out and do that stuff. Form your own organized crime family or some shit.
But a full on bunker solely for producing guns? or a state of the art military facility with access to a satellite mounted kinetic cannon? or a nuclear submarine armed with cruise missiles?
Stuff like the MOC, the Avenger, the Terrorbyte, the Kosatka... that's some movie villain tier stuff.
It's not about a lack of ambition, it's more about "why the fuck do we go from being some no name thug who just flew in from god knows where, to being a fucking James Bond villain?"
Honestly, if I could sell my Bunker, my Facility, my bikie clubhouse, my yacht, and my kosatka, I would. I'd pour the capital into stuff I'm actually going to use, like the arcade, or the nightclub, or the repair shop... stuff I'm actually going to engage with.
Hell, if I could sell the bikie clubhouse and just manage the businesses from my nightclub or something, I would. Ship all my stuff straight to storage there, and sell it from there, at least the sell missions there are sane.

i remember making my character and jumping in gta online at day one. Everything was so buggy, but man was it gold. After you had done the street race with lamar, the whole word was open to you. Man it was fun.
@@renevdk4387 im just not going to respond to you because i can tell where this is going.
What was the stock market like?
The fact that at 1:38 we dont ear the missile lock sound is just beautiful
First time hopping into a lobby in 2013
I was speeding through the city and someone got a hold of a Titan. The way it came flying down towards me with sky scrapers surrounding us and me barely getting away from the explosion behind me.
Everything felt so surreal at that moment.
The first time playing GTA online was something else.
Remember when the mechanic would straight up just steal your car and drive off. Or when he would hijack you and beat you up?
I don't care
lmao I actually remember trying to do that to some people right around that time with a Titan. I wonder if our paths ever crossed if it was Xbox.

I never got to play on the old consoles, and I did feel kinda sad seeing that their online was shut down before I'd ever get a chance to play. Good to know I was wrong.

You have no idea how terrifying it was to drive your zentorno around the city not knowing when the next tank will show up
The toxicity levels have always been the same. The thing that changed is you didn't have to do work in public lobbies. Everything was earned by grinding contact jobs for Martin and Lester.
@@Clint2028CODE2 zentorno was op af, c4 was hard to get and tanks too, if you were driving backwards u became immortal

I had created my character in 5 October 2013. This gave me nostalgia and left me blinded on what GTAO was eventually going to become in the next 10 years.
Oh god I miss those times
great memories, when i was still a child (2013-2015), i loved to watch gta online videos with my best friend on his windows 7 pc, with a square monitor. i will always miss those days :-(
I was 13 when this was released, got it day one.
Same. Xbox 360 party chats were just the Best, and I haven't joined a party since Now
@@CalebRemastered neither! Last I joined a party must’ve been 360 days so back in like 2015.. I do miss those days so much man!
I was also 13 when this released and remembered being mad hype to cop it day one. Still fortunate enough to have some friends from back then that I grew up with. Although most of us rarely play games together, we do still hang out and talk
Also I can relate to the old halos, dead island, and Forza's being apart of my childhood as well
This is so nostalgic
I can only hope the first year of GTA VI can feel this breathing again. It probably will considering they'd be a brand new world to explore, with friends or without. New gameplay systems and innovations, gosh i can't wait for new experiences and memories to be made
Back when "I'll bring it to ya" actually ment something lol
One of the best memories I had from my first time playing Online was a big 8v8 match where the objective was one team had to collect a briefcase and escort it to their destination. But this happened on the very first day, so everyone was just duking it out on the streets with pistols. I remember how the briefcase somehow ended up being escorted by a Limo on one team and both sides turned into a demolition derby with cars they stole off the street trying to fight for the briefcase. By far the greatest experience I ever had with GTA Online, so I was really sad when I saw the current state of Online but seeing this really brought me back to those good ol' days.
Man, this shed some light on really how long ago 2014 and OG GTAO was
No fliying bullshit bikes or cars (if not by bugs or Cargo Bobs lol)
I've already lost contact with the bf I used to play waay too much hours with due to life and work
Seeing this brings joy to my heart
I never remember playing GTAO without any dlc as I didn't have the game. But I do remember one christmas buying GTA V on the PS3 when it was on sale in the ps store, and for my surprise, my best friend bought it as well. So we spent probably hundreds of hours in the game. Such good times.
Great old days
End of XBOX 360 gen was very fun on GTAO and I really miss it
A few months ago a friend of mine played GTA Online for the first time (he only played the story mode.), I admit that I was about to cry because he wanted to play like the players in the first few weeks of GTA Online, it made me feel incredibly nostalgic.
only thing missing is jumping into zancudo for that lazer

well i mean we can still do that
@@fortheloveofnoise we can. But its not as relevant nowadays. Since you can buy the zancudo hangar. Own a lazer. Own an oppressor mk2. And many more op stuff so its basically useless doing that now

Thanks for making a video on this, next time you can enable the strict rendering mode though! It will fix the vertex explosions you were running into, but it may or may not degrade your performance a bit.

No kids, no overpriced cars, no flying bikes, no griefers, no tryhards, no toxic people.
This is where… Drama wasn’t involved in 2013 since GTA online started.
Oh there was plenty of drama. Like online straight up not working for the first 3-4 weeks lmao and then even then, the first few months was unbelievably laggy and full of bugs
^^^^^ this was a real thing. I ended up beating story mode twice before I got serious playing online in 2014. Now, 5 purchases of GTA later, on PS5, it's amazing, but we need less of the vehicles from 2018.
