They made several classic episodes. My favorite episode is The Ghost of a Chantz. Buddy acting scared is the highlight of this episode. LoL. Another great episode, It May Look Like a Walnut. Danny Thomas guest stars as Kolak from the planet Twilo. I love it because you couldn't tell it was all a nightmare until the end when they woke up. LoL. I'll comment some more later with more of my favorite episodes.
9:36 When Jerry opens the front door. The pouty looks on Rob and Laura's faces- they make the couple in Grant Wood's "American Gothic" look exuberant by comparison.
Yeah, I always thought that, too. There was even an episode where Rob and Laura thought Buddy and Sally were having an affair. They were together so much at work and outside of work, you had to wonder.
They don't know, that we know, that they don't know, we know. Sounds like the 'Friends' episode, where everybody but Ross knew about Chandler and Monica. Love Rob and Laura. ❤❤🤗😘🥰😊🤣🤣🤣
Long-time watchers of the show are familiar with the "doodly-doodly-doo-doo-doo" music that Buddy plays at 5:55. I always thought it was a made-up phrase, but my music major daughter recognized it as Schubert's "Der Erlkonig" (several versions available on youtube)
I'm not really a fan of this tv show, but I like it that it's so relaxing!!😊🕊 My FAVORITES are: LITB, I LOVE LUCY, THREE'S COMPANY, THE JEFFERSONS , HAZEL, THE BRADY BUNCH and THE GOLDEN GIRLS!!!😊🤗❤
Even when off the clock, Buddy and Sally entertain.. Don't they ever take a day off? To be fair, Jerry and Millie did make the dinner, it is the least they could do.
Now imagine your government doing this to citizens in their own homes and over telecommunication networks, taking that information with soundbites and providing it to others, in or out of context, to get a person's wife, family, friends, neighbors, and virtually anyone to turn on a political target to isolate that person and destroy that person's social network, rendering inoperable love and support that the target would otherwise be given when the arm of the state decides to bare down on them.
Carl Reiner, you mean. Father of the famous director Rob Reiner. Carl was very famous in his day and is still alive today. Still good friends with Dick VD as well.
@@suzycreamcheesez4371 Well the majority anyway. If you had the money people dressed up. Church was a dress up affair. Girls wore dresses to school. People dressed up to ride airplanes. I think it's more common now to wear pajamas in public. As I said on Facebook a couple of years ago I was in New Orleans and saw a bunch of naked people in a parade so pajamas would have looked good right about then. One instance where dressing up didn't work was with my cousin. His mom and grandmother put him in suits and ties and a hat to go to school. The kids made fun of him. He was glad when my mom bought him t-shirts and blue jeans.
Rob and Laura were always having parties all the time. He must had money as the head writer. On the newer espiodes Sally married Herman he was doing the cooking
suzycreamcheesez: Sectionals were HUGELY popular for several centuries....60's, 70's & even 80's. In fact, they're still pretty popular (2018). But it makes sense that both of these families have similar sectionals due to Laura & Millie having SURELY shopped & choose furniture together. If you recall, they bought their houses at the exact same time - they had been neighbors & became friends when both were newlyweds living in tiny apartments in the same apartment building....THEN Millie would go w/ Laura on house-shopping trips, as friends do. The episode telling all about how they ended up buying houses directly next to each other is HILARIOUS (it wasn't planned-happened at the last minute). Getting dressed to hang out w/ friends is a show of respect - respect for yourself & also towards the people that are going to be seeing you. Even during the 80's, I would often get dressed up (as if I were going out), even when staying at home by myself for the night. This is a good way to fend off depression, as well. It's a common remedy for people that live alone - to get dressed up & act as if you ARE going somewhere, pour yourself a drink in your good glass goblets, set your table w/ placemats & silverware (even when eating alone). It does something to your psyche, makes you feel more like a human (rather than eating off of paper plates & drinking straight from the bottle while lying around in your jammies). After all, YOU deserve to look & smell good just for your own self...YOU deserve to eat well & drink well, even when eating or drinking alone. So get yourself dressed up, set a nice table, pour yourself a nice drink in a real glass, turn up some good music & enjoy a good meal....It really does pick up your spirit - you DESERVE it! Trust me - try it some time, it really DOES make you feel better! ;-)
This episode is one of my absolute favorites. I can watch this over and over and enjoy it everytime!
Me, too.
This is one of my absolute favorite episodes. I can watch it over and over and over again...and have.
One of the best shows ever!!
Yes It was
A classic episode. One of my favorites.

What a great show. This ep is my favorite.
"You didn't give them the house?" haha

"On the street where you live". LOL.
RIP mary thanks for the laughs
One of my favorite episodes. The charade scene made the whole show. 😃
My favorite to. Glad I found it
Why was this episode cut in half?
@@markcadieux3445 right after it ended the rest of the episode was under it.
@@aprilsunflower7440 I know, they did this with this one and another one too. I just wondered why.
@@markcadieux3445 I wonder if it's for copyright reasons
I always wanting to be just like Laura Petrie when I grew up but I never found a guy like Rob Petrie.
Rob Petrie was pure fiction. An almost ideal husband. Not to be found in the realms of the real world.
No one's gonna mention Avocado, Peanut Butter, & Mustard...together??? Ummmm...Yick@@!!
a great, great episode. Treachery, malicious accusery... sounds like the place I used to work!!
Stephanie Stanley love that line.
Rob and Laura, what a gorgeous couple.
I really like the line from Laura: "We wouldn't be on the moon today...."
Rob says: "We aren't on the moon."
Apollo 11 hadn't happened yet
And we still haven't been on the moon..now that we know truth...
And this is a great episode 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏😃
I always used to think it was weird that Buddy used to go to parties and other social gatherings with Sally, rather than with his wife Pickles.
Yeah. That was wierd
agree completely
Yeah, I always thought that, too. There was even an episode where Rob and Laura thought Buddy and Sally were having an affair. They were together so much at work and outside of work, you had to wonder.
Haha!
She was his work wife and vice versa
RIP Ann Morgan Guilbert, who was a big part of this episode
No way! She died?! Awwwww. :(
I love that lady. She had a small part on Seinfeld in the 90s as Jerry's parent's neighbor in Del Boca Vista
RIP Mary Tyler Moore and Rose Marie
I loved her on the Nanny too!
Jerry Paris went on to be a very successful television director. He practically directed every episode of Happy Days
I love the way Laura snatches the paper out of Gerry's hand.
Originaly telecast on October 23, 1963.
"There's a good sentence in there somewhere"......lol
Mary Tyler Moore was just simply off the chart HOT in her day!
I had a serious crush on her all thru my adolescence and after.......
And a great comedic actress. You rarely see a combination like that.
@@gregh7400 - Did you ever watch Richard Diamond, Private Detective? She played his secretary, and all you saw were her legs (and hands).
@@Entertainlaw Sorry to say I never heard of that show.
@@gregh7400 I got over crushing on Laura Petrie when I met Mary Richards!
RIP Sally, Buddy, Mel, Mary, and a lot of the other cast except for Dick and Richie who are still alive.
Devon Walter Carl Reiner, the creator of the show & also played the part of Alan Brady, is also still living.
Rob Reiner
The genius Jerry Paris. Ann Morgan Gilbert now too.
He was in All in the Family not this
Not Rob Reiner. Carl Reiner.
Brilliant episode!!😃😁👍
Another great episode
Malicious accusery!!! Grounds for impeachment???
@R M I will I need a favor though.....

BOI THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL ASHTRAY
"They don't know that we know that they know!" Phoebe on Friends!😁👍
Wow! They actually got the county right. New Rochelle is in Westchester Co.
You all heard it. “Rob’s no Albert Schweitzer”
Love this episode! (I think it's actually called "All about Evesdropping")
Tammy Sinclair renaming it may hide it from deletion

That's a huge kettle sitting on the bookshelf.
Are YOU invading someone's privacy???
And believe they are doing YOU wrong???
You may owe them an apology
And who would ever eat avocado/peanut butter dip? Mustard? Blech!
@7:10 we wouldnt be on the moon!!!--pretty premonitious of laura to say that!!!
Even when off the clock, Buddy and Sally entertain.. Don't they ever take a day off? To be fair, Jerry and Millie did make the dinner, it is the least they could do.
We wouldn't be on the moon today...
In the show Rob was from danville. In real life dick van dyke was from danville illinois
Aw I want to watch the end...
They DID send a woman into space and we did her to the moon!! Early 1960's comments!

Only half an episode?
Minor quibble really but the title is "All About Eavesdropping".

I read once that Rob would have had a salary of about $25,000. That was a lot back in those days.
I think that it is strange that buddy goes to parties with sally instead of his wife !
Why did you cut it off...
Whose glass of beer is sitting on the piano?
This is a great episode--- but having a cell-phone-- stinks... If you know what I mean...
that third opening intro sequence they filmed was not as good as the other two.
Sometimes it seems like Buddy and Sally are behaving like a married couple, and not like co-workers. Just no sex, either way.

Did you ever wonder why Rob and Laura only had one child. The reason that buddy and Sally were always together they hardly show his wife pickes.
"Did you ever wonder why Rob and Laura only had one child. " No; Richie was a monster.

the women used to always wear short pearls
