To make that last ice cave situation even funnier, ice caves are usually full of opportunities to destroy blocks in terms of UFO lasers, UFO explosions and mines. None happened to spawn up there.

'Poked' happened to me when I had 99 hearts once... It took over 3 minutes if I recall correctly.
3 minutes of the true Spelunky experience, you are one fortunate feller.
Had the same thing happen on arena mode w/ 4 people, we all got stunlocked.
I love how spelunky still plays the victory jingle at 1:14 as if you won
Now we whole-heartedly know the difference that just one bomb makes..
5:35 Well, umm...I don't know what happened, but I'm gonna take a stab at it. You know how Spelunky is supposed to always have a clear path to the exit? Well, maybe it's done *before* the Mothership shaft is placed. As I told someone else: If I had to guess, it's the Mothership's fault. Most likely, the game had a path ready for you on the right. Seeing that it was good, it then placed the Mothership shaft, and *put it on the right too*. And the Mothership shaft has a constant appearance, that the game forgot about there.
+EarthPhantomTS I think this is indeed the case every time this happens, not just with the mothership but with traps in general. The path gets calculated and verified first, then the traps get placed. The traps can totally block the viable path if you get unlucky...
You should do a funtastic kills video, like that time you telefragged that vault keeper.
I'd love to but it would take WAY more work, since I'd have to comb through the runs looking for them as opposed to just skipping straight to the end...
Dang. In all my years of watching people play spelunky and playing it myself, I've never run into a floor that you can't get past without bombs. Goes to show if you play enough spelunky, anything can and will happen lol 💀

Some explosions happened in hell, and I had received the ball n chain. Little did I know, Spelunky said "Fuck you and your shit" when I threw th ball n chain, and it hovered in midair, pulling me to my demise over a devil. I died.

The best funtastic death I've had was when I ended up stunned on the Kali Alter. There is no coming back from that.

5:35 this happened to me last night also. Luckily I had bombs. But I thought Spelunky's level generation system was supposed to draw a clear path to the exit before generating the rest of the level? If so, how could this happen?

i had a run all the way to 5-2 where the exact same thing happened as the last death ;-;
Died recently via a glitch. Was going to resurrect inside moia by jumping into the pit. A platform was falling above me. Right after I resurrected the platform pulled me back down to the pits edge and I died again.

I don't know if the option exists in Xbox, but in PC you can toggle between regular and "pro" hud in the settings.
