Would it have been due to Union / ToTP BBC rules that vocalists had to be as per the record? I remember reading that bands had to 'record' a live version on the day of the broadcast on the charade that it was to be used, everyone got paid but most of the time the BBC just used the official track on the show.

The vocals are hers, though (and not the woman in the video, who was - I later found out - a page 3 model of the time).
Weirdly, there is a TV performance where the vocals are mimed by the woman from the video.
