I have always wanted center shafted putters but as a lefty, I could never find them. But all they did was take the 3 most popular putters they have and put the shaft in the center.
My question about this low torque stuff. To get any benifet to this wouldnt you need to hold the putter light as a feather? Otherwise if your gripping it with a normally tigh grip how would this low torque even play a roll since at this point your wrist rotation woould conroll the clubface. The torque of a putter is not nearly enough to force your wrist to hold it in place.
Does anyone know where the forward press comes from ie is it in the grip ? Apologies if this doesn't make sense . Thinking if you change frip would you lose the forward press ?
I’m curious to know how much a fitter can dial one of these in to a player. If a zero torque model is the best fit for a stroke what else can you fit without throwing off the main function of the club?
it would have nice to see a comparison of the same style putter that wasn't the square to square version to see how Mike's stroke looked compared to the square to square.

I get the impression all the other manufacturers have not put the same effort into innovation as L.A.B. They have simply copied L.A.B and given it a different tagline. Their putters look the same, claim to achieve the same result and are just looking to grab market share. It’s a free market so you can buy what you want but let’s look at L.A.B as the specialist until something or someone comes along with something truly different.
The more new models that are in this ”low torque” category the more I am siding with LAB. Nobody can replicate what LAB does and therefore I feel like it’s defeating the purpose of the design they are creating and now selling. On the other hand I like that they Odyssey aren’t directly trying to compete with LAB but instead offer a option that looks better behind the ball but still providing some similar feels to what LAB has, just obviously not the the extent of what a LAB can . I know people aren’t a fan of the revealer and tech that LAB claims in all of their posts, videos, ads…. But to me, that is where the value of the brand is and where they really set themselves apart from every other equipment brand. I think a few people will get these but I can’t imagine its enough to continue to put out new models every 1-2 years compared to the rest of the “standard” lineup.
100%. Odyssey can't go full-on with the LAB concept for a few reasons: 1. LAB's patents, and 2. Not mass producible (which has been a problem for LAB). LAB hand-balances every putter they make. These send the shaft through the head's COG so it LOOKS the same but they don't have the weight positions to make it truly balanced unless you order standard loft, lie, and grip.
My buddies all say I should have gotten the jailbird over the 7 but I tell them the lines on the 7 make it so damn easy to aim and return to square the stripes on the jailbird do nothing for me alignment wise. As far as the whole torque free trend.. you guys ever think about just using the center of the face?
I've ordered the Jailbird one (actually gaming a 7 o'works) and i can't stop asking me if i must change my order to a 7 :|. Jailbird: cons : missing alignment as you say regarding the 7 and cannot "easily" pick up the ball pro: bigger MOI should help on lag putting (tested with the cruiser)
If Odyssey is confident their Square 2 Square technology is that good at hitting the target line, it can be reasonably assumed that Odyssey will stand by their marketing hype and now discontinue their traditional putters (relying on face balance and toe hang misinformation). The Square 2 Square physics either works or it doesn’t, but you can’t have it both ways without making fools of the public.
I disagree. The square to square will only benefit a player with a fairly square stroke. I don’t think someone who putts with a very arc-y stroke would use these with a lot of success. But that’s just a guess. You can use your logic to reason that if zero torque is king every professional and high level amateur would use it. Yet they don’t.
That’s all good, but that data is near on useless from a Validation & Verification testing or comparison perspective. The three models of Square to Square putters need to tested, and the data analysed against the three equivalent Odyssey standard non Square to Square putters
I feel like Callaway goes out of their way to treat customers like we are dumb, just slapping labels like AI and Square onto things that don’t make sense

Actually, square 2 square performs just like a LAB in the revealer. There is already videos out with it.
@@fredrikwessmen7652 where
I rolled the 7 and it beat my LAB at a fraction of the price.
Did you order the 7?!
@@caseyvansanten2103 yep
@@robertn3121awesome! I’m
Thinking about it!
The 7 is what 300... Which LAB do you have?
@ DF3
My buddies all say I should have gotten the jailbird over the 7 but I tell them the lines on the 7 make it so damn easy to aim and return to square the stripes on the jailbird do nothing for me alignment wise.
As far as the whole torque free trend.. you guys ever think about just using the center of the face?
I don't think you understand the torque free concept.
I think the Jailbird looks sick, but completely agree. I’m getting the #7 for alignment too
I've ordered the Jailbird one (actually gaming a 7 o'works) and i can't stop asking me if i must change my order to a 7 :|.
Jailbird:
cons : missing alignment as you say regarding the 7 and cannot "easily" pick up the ball
pro: bigger MOI should help on lag putting (tested with the cruiser)
Suprised Sam isn’t on here trying to debunk these
Has to be a grove in the floor lol
It comes down to the golfer. If it helps ya, go for it. If not, find what works best.
When did Ryan Reynolds start working for Odyssey?
Wait what!!! ???
That’s all good, but that data is near on useless from a Validation & Verification testing or comparison perspective. The three models of Square to Square putters need to tested, and the data analysed against the three equivalent Odyssey standard non Square to Square putters
Still isn’t Lie Angle Balanced though. It twists in the revealer. Not a LAB. Not customisable to your stroke. Not taking my dollars.
it doesn't, there's video of it in the revealer
i wanted a new putter this year and wanted the 7 shape. i would have bought this, they should have leaked these early. too bad.
I feel like Callaway goes out of their way to treat customers like we are dumb, just slapping labels like AI and Square onto things that don’t make sense
Why settle for second best, get LABed
no one uses a lab
Wait wait … WHY the glasses?? Lol.
QW
Someone has to activate his Windows license ;)
Bringing in all the money and cant pay for a windows license lol
Lmao
Justice for lefties
And I am assuming length and lie aren’t available except through a qualified fitter…. Pointless!
Maybe test WITHOUT the guy who is in the mix?
I do not like the look of a center shafted putter … not for me
If you’re talking or wanting stable you have only one brand to think about …….Cobra. ( sorry )
So ugly 🤢
All this tech just to push a ball. Just get good sucka.
