So should I wire the yellow wire or no? If no, then red to reverse lights and black to ground Right? Because my instruction manual says to connect the yellow to the reverse lights
@TheMamo8 Because this is a Wireless camera, it doesn't matter if you put the red wire to constant +12V or the Reversing Light but if your using it as a reversing camera then not having the camera powered up constantly is going to cause long connection delays if wired up to the Reversing Light so for that reason I would put the red wire to Switched +12V Ignition instead so the camera is powered up all the time when the Ignition is On. And yes black goes to ground, you can just ignore the yellow wire if your camera is the same one as in this video, i cannot comment on other brands I have not tested or installed
Great, but wish you’d show how to wire it up. The one I bought has the yellow wire labeled “do not use” so I’m assuming I just wire up the red and black to the backup light. Was thinking of connecting to the rear running light so I could use it while the car is running, not just in reverse. Any comments on this?
You are exactly correct: RED - goes to Reversing Light Switch which is +12V when engaged BLACK - goes to Ground YELLOW - Is video signal which is labeled 'do not use' because this camera is WiFi and so the cameras video signal communicates with your phone wirelessly. Yeh you can wire it up to the rear running light, reversing switch, a manual switch or anything else you want to that is +12v when engaged, it doesn't have to be the reversing switch. Hope that helps you out
Hello, quick question, could I use this as an external video camera for WhatsApp? I have it installed on my head unit and I'd like to be able to do video calls on long journeys
Is there a way to have two cameras connected to my android tablet? I bought two, one for front and one for back. I’d like to be able to switch between the two without having to go into the WiFi settings on my tablet and switching the WiFi networks.
Hi. Unfortunately not because these would be 2 completely different Wifi connections. The other problem in doing this is the frustration of the wireless connection and the time it would take to connect between them would drive you crazy (ive tried it and hated it). Having front and rear cameras is a great idea though and one that I personally also setup in my car and here's the video I made when doing it ruclips.net/video/6FMGkpwtsqU/видео.htmlsi=HGu0vOrHx4G9Uded It's not Wifi but it's an amazing product which I can highly recommend and unlike wireless, the connection is instant. Hope that helps you
That does look like an interesting product but that will not work for my application. I am using the cameras on a side by side, I am just going to use my Samsung tablet for a one camera and my phone for the other camera. That way I can view them simultaneously. I would have preferred to control them from a be device but the switching back and forth takes too long. Thanks for help.
@marvinralph3330 my only other suggestion to switch between 2 cameras would of been this ruclips.net/video/wZ1JGTMttoI/видео.htmlsi=xGgpH7u3i4i1RGGh but I don't think that's want you want either, and again it's not wireless so can't be used with your tablet or phone
I bought another model but very similar to this one. The problem is that it doesn't remember the flip position after power of and on. Does yours remember the horizontal flip position?
Never had that problem with this one, but I can imagine it would be incredibly frustrating to have. Do you have the app running constantly in the background on your phone? I ask you that because this problem is to do with the app (or your phone settings) and not the camera. Have you tried to use another compatible app?
I'm thinking about using an IP camera connected to my cell phone's hotspot as a front camera so I don't lose internet connection while I see the camera's image live. Have you ever thought about that? I've been looking for wireless outdoor security cameras but it's not easy to find something small and discreet that works this way.
Hi, no I have not tried doing that. From my experience so far, for Automotive use, wired camera's are still the best way to go, im currently using this ruclips.net/video/6FMGkpwtsqU/видео.htmlsi=ZfZna2ofcX2CH1j6 and although it's alot more work to setup, it's well worth it. This Wifi camera is good but at times the wireless connection is to slow to connect so using it as a reversing camera can be very frustrating at times
@@SHORTwithTECHyou are so wrong, I have installed this wireless cam and it's works perfectly without any video delay. The camera connect INSTANTLY. Just need to decide where you want to fix it. Maximum time to get all done is about 10 minutes once you've read the instructions.....
No the parking lines don't move at all, just permanently straight ahead at all times. I bought mine on aliexpress.com but you can get them from lots of other places aswell like Amazon, ebay etc....
@masoumeh7908 you don't charge it man. Only the video signal is wireless. For the power you wire it up to the reversing switch of the car or you can put it on a switch if you want to, it lasts forever and never runs out of power
No it wont, none of the Car Wifi cameras can do that. If you want to be able to do that and you want wireless then I would recommend this ruclips.net/video/HYmXaGZxjis/видео.htmlsi=E76MHvQ73qTNGUFG For a reversing camera this is a better solution as it does not have the connection delay problem that you get with the Car Wifi cameras

@@SHORTwithTECH It looks good although i did want to just use an old ipad. I might end up just doing the same as you, using a cheap screen and wired camera.
@LegendLength You can still use an Ipad and install the Waze app or Google maps but you will still have the problem of the camera not connecting straight away when you go into reverse at times. As far as I know there's no way to do that with this device
