- You should definitely try this out if you have some spare pieces of heavy & hard wood. The sound of the bullroarer is pretty unique and can produce a very powerful sound.

It’s like the sound of a car…phenomenal
Thanks for sharing. It's fun to see what you did, then hear it.
Shit yeah I need one of these to piss off my neighbors
Good sound. Thank you for sharing.
sounds great!!
sweet job
Very cool, but do I have to use wood oil? God bless you!😊
The oil is to protect.
Nice, but but vital IMO.
I already craft didgeridoo now that I see dimensions and cordage to use for a loud bullroarer I’ll have to try making a couple. Wonder if a heavier and dense wood would make for louder bullroarer? I’ve got some Honey Locust that’s nicely dried.
I sampled this sound on Koala, modified it with a couple of effects, and wow!
What makes it loud, louder than other bull roarers?
Your message was of initial distress then, I've found food then I'm on my way home
Hi, is it a toy or is it more, and I don't see it. Or is it to say, "hello, I am here" like dundee? Greetings
It's one of humanity's oldest instruments for sound, music, communication, etc. Earliest bullroarers dating from 20,000 years ago were found in Eastern Europe. They have been in use all across the globe since paleolithic times on all settled continents, their sound being used for a great variety of purposes ranging from ritual to hunting or play. There's a 'bullroarer' Wikipedia article.
@@pichan8841 Hi, thank you for information. I read the article on Wikipedia. I fear, we will never know, if there had existed a kind of bullroarer-alphatet. Greetings
Can these be made shorter? I want one that fits in my pocket. I don't need it to be very loud.
I make them. About 9.5 inches by 1.75 inches. .25 inches thick. Sounds good.
Yeah. But it also needs to have enough weight do its thing when spinning. If it's only wood it can be too light to push the air if made below a certain size, and that also depends on the type of wood used. I suppose you can try something by adding weights, but you don't want it coming apart while spinning.
Step one to making a bullroarer, get a bullroarer to trace out onto a board.
Thes sound doesn't happen because of the pieve of wood, but because of the line!
I see he left the edges flat and it is loud. This is easier to make.
I started taking off of the ground. Is that normal? 🚁
