    I absolutely love the potf line with it's kenner retro packaging, the amount of details and information on the box. The vehicles are fantastic as well reminiscing the vintage line. That hole in the cockpit console was an attachment cockpit control which came with the darth vader tie fighter Gunner station.

    The old one was away to cut costs use the same body as standard tie saves a lot of design and manufacturing cost

    I had this one. But I also had the original model. They don't make that mold anymore.

    I remember having this as a kid. I didn't care that it was Vader's, I just wanted more TIE's, cause I was an Imp kid lol. (Always bugged me that I could never find an Interceptor, it's one of my favorite grunt fighters in any franchise)

    I had the original vaders tie wish it was more like the POTPF version my model kit was more like the movie version than the toy version of the day

    I never owned any Darth Vader TIE in the action figure scale so this was cool to see up close. Is his cup holder deep enough to hold his lightsaber in, by chance?

    • @j.s.connolly8579
      @j.s.connolly8579 5 лет назад

      YES! That is EXACTLY What it is for! I too found the "Cup Holder" funny until I realized it was for his Lightsaber!

      I have one too and I lmfao at why he has a cup holder I. His tie fighter. He can’t take his mask off in his tie so I doubt he’s flying around chugging a Dr Pepper while hes shooting down rebels

      It would be nice to see Vader’s ship get another release. It’s been a while.

    I managed to snag one from a local K-Mart for TEN BUCKS Before all the K-Marts went out of business. I have the Re-Pop of this with the Florescent Green Missiles. I have since torn it apart to make it "Screen Accurate" using many different sources,
    My finished "Re-Build" will have Lights AND sounds and will have an accurate Cockpit AND still take the Action Figure.
    I also have the TIE X-1 and X-Wing from the "Death Star Trench Run" that I bought for my Grand sons several years ago for a Christmas present. When they out grew them I managed to selvedge all of the parts and figures and save them. I will do a similar "UP-GRADE" to the X-Wing and once I get a Second Regular Standard Issues TIE Fighter I will display all THREE like in the Movie.

    @toyshelfreview How did you accomplish the camera moving left and right between the two TIEs? Looks so smooth! Another super useful review 👏🏼👏🏼😃

    • @toyshelfreview
      @toyshelfreview  4 года назад +1

      I keep my camera mounted on a slider. Handy for such shots as you’re asking about and also I don’t need to deal with moving a tripod around. Unless I’m dealing with larger toys.

    Why does it look have a cup holder? he can’t take his mask off in his fighter and drink so it’s not like he’s chugging a soda while he’s shooting down x wings!

  • @anthonyreed3682
    @anthonyreed3682 4 года назад +2

    Quick question how did you get the wings to stay on your original Darth Vader tie fighter? Mine popped off months after I got it. And to this day 40 years later I can't get them to stay on the mounts.

      Maybe the spring mechanism inside has worn out. Either a clip might’ve snapped off or there’s a stress joint on plastic. It’s actually normal for a lot of Kenner TIE-Fighter molds to have something of a problem like that.

  • @blakr243

    I don’t know if you will see this but on mine the two blaster turrets below the glass are removable and feel like they have a spring as they would shoot but I can’t find anything that will shoot them, if you could check it out that would be great

    • @toyshelfreview
      @toyshelfreview  3 года назад

      Those bottom two don’t shoot out. Mine have some wiggle to them but don’t seem to be meant to be removed.

    do you have a power of the force at-at? If you have one loose please review it

  • @grandmasteryoda3598
    @grandmasteryoda3598 6 лет назад +6

    I don’t know why people don’t like the power of the force line. Aside from the reused vehicles the steroid look was short lived

      Grand Master Yoda i like them besides the vehicles they are too small and not real scale. When you can have han solo stand higher then the falcon somethings wrong

      Sorry for such late reply, I know yours is an old comment, but I feel the same way.
      Besides the reasons you and jdl mentioned, the collector in me knows massive production left some who think only about value and rareness jaded.
      But not me. How can I shun the very thing that made my favorite ❤️ toyline so affordable and available?

      Yup! And that flat top catch always bothered me. Also, I would've liked a leaner, more narrow Vader's ship. Never bothered anyone else though, it seems. :}
