Thanks for the video..I;m LOVING the nifty fifty, but I also have a Nikon DX 18-55mm kit lens that I have found useful
Excellent video. Great photo examples. I just found your videos and decided it was worth subscribing. Keep up the good work!
On DX, a 35mm lens is the same. Obvious, but if you want a similar perspective as a 50mm lens on film or FX - that's the focal length to use.
Great advice for anyone who’s looking for cheap and reliable setup. Canon 5D paired with this prime can do wonders.
I have a 3 word reason. Henri Cartier Bresson.
Every lens video needs to state the crop factor first, in the title, none ever do it.
Yes - 50mm is a very versatile focal length. Henri Cartier Bresson loved it too - most of his masterpieces were shot with the Leica 50mm Summicron.
But in my nature- and landscape photography I also need a super wide angle zoom, as well as a telephoto lens. But even for this kind of photography I mostly shoot with "normal" focal lengths between 35 and 90 mm.
50mm focal length is really a versatile focal length, for portraits especially over than 50mm kinda irritating to use
Love to use it at weddings as well.
