Chej ter I've played all the scenarios and only played the first one on he Hard setting. After that amount of stress lol I just thought I do not want to play refugees on Hard. It would drive me nuts with all those people.
this game deserves some awards its soo good it gives some meaning that city builders can be fun and the stuido 11Bit they are amazing i think we got another CD RED projekt on our hands :)
I very much like this game, sadly though, first game I was pretty much screwed half way to the end. Started a new game on easy, everything went great until the storm hits and oh my how can anyone survive that thing? Sadly I got the dictator ending
The game I just played (my second run on A New Home) I was probably overly conservative. I had three deaths (two suicides and a duel), but I had so much of everything (ridiculous quantities of resources - started out on 65,000 coal at the beginning of the storm) I was just signing policies because I felt like I had to, not because I needed to. It might have been the pledge of loyalty/propaganda centre that did it, and I didn't take foremen as I thought that would give me a more negative ending (and I didn't need any production bonuses!). The most powerful active from the order line is undoubtedly patrol, so will probably stick with that next time. Weirdly the game finished on 695 people, though I had 699 right before the end (and I took screenshots) even though I had three deaths (the father and daughter returning took me to 699).
if these people are the last in the world, i hope they remember that we used to have freedom, democracy, happy life, etc. the world is not born to be so harsh.
the game is too demanding, in real terms given a situation like that, for 90% of the population to survive seems like an absolute victory to me, as long as you don't go Nazi, but it seems that the citizens want a perfect eden even in that situation, be thankful that your governor kept you fed, warm and did not put your children to work
It not best possible ending at all if honestly. At first amputation not a best choise (in we talking about best ending) second option is better and says "we struggle for every life". Second - prison, not survived 701 people and etc
Just sign sustain life instead, there will be no amputees besides scripted ones who don't commit suicide. Prison shouldn't be necessary, but I havent't tried that. I went faith for my hard no death no hunter trick run and got to 0 londoners without crossing the line.
1c3manBG I finished game on hard without anyone leaving, died , max refugees and without prison in first and faith keepers and great church in second. Soooo
its a imaginary political line where the society shifted too far to be recogniced as a "free" society to a rather autoritarian one, answering ur question more accurucatelly, picking up the last 3 lines on any purpose law will cause a cross of line
i found a other game sort of related to frostpunk as of its a city-building game and its set in a disaster (well its set after a disaster) its called cliff empire, its a indie game with some promise to make a good game.
No, you need at least between 20000 and 25000 people to repopulate earth and create genetic diversity. www.bbc.com/future/story/20160113-could-just-two-people-repopulate-earth
My first attempt, I only had 2 people die. I took in everyone. My next two attempts I wanted to see if I could make it out with everyone. It seems no matter what I did, one person just up and died. On the religious side its just some old man who dies of old age (How the heck did he even last long to make it here?) and the other way, its some writer who commits suicide... really?! if you were that much of a quitter, why even make the long trek here? I'm tempted to see if not taking anything in either tree might prevent this. Anyone know by any chance?
GrouchyMage the poet who commits suicide can’t be avoided however he doesn’t actually count as a citizen for some reason so technically you’ve completed it without losing anyone, congratulations.
The suicidal poet is related to the propaganda center and the old guy that dies is related to the house of healing (never mind that half the time it's actually a child). If you don't make either of those then those deaths won't occur (the steelworks/coal mine large work accident is also part of the propaganda center). It's definitely harder to keep hope up without the propaganda center but it's doable on normal difficulty using just guard stations. And obviously the house of healing is completely skippable, though it's really nice on the main campaign since you have enough space for those massive buildings (unlike Refugees where space is rather at a premium)
I came across this playing the faith side with the old man dying and was able to avoid it. At least for me, it always happened when the 3 waves of refugees hit the city and on the 3rd wave, if you don't have them all in care houses/medical facilities, after a short time you get the death. I made sure all the sick were 'off the streets' when they arrived and no deaths. Hope it helps.
I went with an order run, basically ended up being a nazi and putting kids to work. (293 survived) pretty rough ending generator shutdown people starving left and right. My big problem most of the game was lots of people, but nothing for them to do. I wish I could have had shift workers so that the mines could always be open and some would just sleep during the day. I feel like that should be a feature.
Just over 680 people on normal settings. It gets a lot easier once you have played it through a couple of times which is what i did. It didn't unlock anything special in Steam for me though so aside from the Steam achievements i earned and the satisfaction of it no hidden achievements unlocked :( Great game though and the music is perfect.
if you did order if your doing faith have people to think the thieves fate instead of signing the public penance law to not cross the line hope that does something to help get a good ending down the faith tree
Not a bad. But if you manage to do it without any order laws then you can get a even better ending with less "bad" things. Although In retrospect. This is about the closet thing you'll get
Well... I have played the game so many times and managed to visit every location but never got more than 690 people. Many times I reach 650 or 670. I will need to record it and get back to you on this one.
1c3manBG I am not saying 690 is possible. I had 656 when I completed game (many died). I am just saying total number of people in entire map is always constant and at the same place.
It's not a constant number, some of the spots have a small % of variation, i think the total amount is between 685 and 695, every locations on the map unlocked, every refugees saved and no script death or whatever at all. But ending with less than 685 means you forgot or lost some people.
Too many would have died? The point of sustain life is that they don't. The care house is great, you don't even need an infirmary unless you need to heal lots of sick people fast. Which shouldn't happen at all unless you're taking in sick refugees and during the last storm. Otherwise, it probably means your economy sucks and you're researching too slowly, so you can't keep your people warm enough. Then you have to divert resources torwards healing that should be spent growing and it all snowballs into one huge clusterfuck later on.
Jakob Schmidt i picked radical treatment, but had no factory, because i had other researches as priority, but i have 7 clinics and 5 infirmary. I took all refugees, all heating research maxed out, all insulation and infirmary upgrade maxed out. Picked order's law book perks excet new order. I think its just cool if we can keep people's hope. But i had no generator flag without new order. Sucks Survived with 540 citizens.
I don't think the game was punishing enough, then again I played only on normal, I think 1st play is normal, it didn't allow to choose settings. Anyways in the end I got bored, like with most games and I was like fuck it, just fastforward and people survived???? Generator barely working daily. I was expecting to lose and start over. I think the game even counts it a win, even if 1 person survives,
I think you didnt read anything from the purpose tree, you just saw ah that will be benefitional so you singed it without thinking about how this changes the colony
I'm, of course, not entirely sure, but according to the information from the game there is only one Great Storm, and after it the weather will slowly improve.

I ended with 30 people...trust me you could have done worse.
I got banished a day before the storm passed with about 60 people ... even worse for me lol
@@kieranmcmahon1745 coal went out 1 day before the end of the storm but i didnt got banished because the storm ended 1 houre before the deadline...
@@lelouche25 30? How is that even possible
i just had a bad ending ( havent finished the game) i was on day 45 (i think) it was definatly during storm week and well suddenly the notification that i saw later on a recording said generator stress critical i was running out of coal i didnt make the food ration deadline 3450 around around 124 were homeless but infirmrys were doing their job well so nobody really much people died as bad as i thought so when the critical stress notification happened i didnt notice the generator exploded. now i looked up ending arks and didnt see any good ending so i thought i was all in vain the struggle until i passed youre video showing there isnt just bad endings you gave me the will to try the game again thanks :)
I cant remember the last time I felt that happy and proud after beating the game
I just genuinely love this game.
Chej ter what were you expecting, if you mind me asking?
Chej ter ah I get you. I would actually have loved the story to continue beyond that to be fair.
Chej ter I've played all the scenarios and only played the first one on he Hard setting. After that amount of stress lol I just thought I do not want to play refugees on Hard. It would drive me nuts with all those people.
Amazing, my impossible final.
Keep trying. Eventually so many things will become clearer and not all laws need to be applied.
First try, 120 souls alive, 270 deads and all the laws of faith for survive, a shame of infrastructure haha. It's really hard thanks
this game deserves some awards its soo good it gives some meaning that city builders can be fun and the stuido 11Bit they are amazing i think we got another CD RED projekt on our hands :)
I very much like this game, sadly though, first game I was pretty much screwed half way to the end.
Started a new game on easy, everything went great until the storm hits and oh my how can anyone survive that thing?
Sadly I got the dictator ending
How do you survive the storm? 3 automations, 3 in advanced coalmines, and a shitton of food and heat
@@lydierayn lol, that’s how I survived (well, considering everyone almost froze to death if it was a few days longer lol)
@@lydierayn 1 automaton, 1 advanced walldrill, 4/6 charcoal kilns and enough food

Propaganda makes you "cross the line".
@@lewisdepatserlord4737 i take propaganda and still get the "we haven't crossed the line"

i had 20 000 c and 7700 food in reserves, more than 670 peoples
It’s great finding out I lost this game by two days :(
3 hours for me
2 ingame days or 2 real life days?
@@ajiprnk4821, everyone died to frostbite on the last 2 days of the storm. Not enough coal
the game is too demanding, in real terms given a situation like that, for 90% of the population to survive seems like an absolute victory to me, as long as you don't go Nazi, but it seems that the citizens want a perfect eden even in that situation, be thankful that your governor kept you fed, warm and did not put your children to work
MAN, this made me cry hen i survived
It not best possible ending at all if honestly. At first amputation not a best choise (in we talking about best ending) second option is better and says "we struggle for every life". Second - prison, not survived 701 people and etc
If you don't amputate the person will die. With prison the Londoneers numbers drop quite fast and you don't loose people.
Soooo
You can sign sustain life and have the gravely ill maintained until you can build infirmaries to treat them.
How is it the best possible ending without even having max people survive?
1c3manBG where is the line ?
its a imaginary political line where the society shifted too far to be recogniced as a "free" society to a rather autoritarian one, answering ur question more accurucatelly, picking up the last 3 lines on any purpose law will cause a cross of line
yagmir imfasalar ok thx 😄
Raahh!!! The indomitable human will to not only survive but to live in a harsh world without giving into our primitive and animalistic instincts!!!
i had 694 rescued and one guy here on YT had even 695 people rescued... maybe there are some more until 700?
i found a other game sort of related to frostpunk as of its a city-building game and its set in a disaster (well its set after a disaster) its called cliff empire, its a indie game with some promise to make a good game.
I saved 678 souls and I think that it could be better still
what if there was a route where you didn't adapt AND haven't signed any laws relating to faith/order
You can actually beat the game with no laws at all. Which also means a deathless run because a single body would kill your whole colony. Fun!
lol
The percentage of consanguinity must be pretty high
Yes, but even real humanity has high consanguinity, there was a time when all humanity could fit in a plane.
No, you need at least between 20000 and 25000 people to repopulate earth and create genetic diversity. www.bbc.com/future/story/20160113-could-just-two-people-repopulate-earth
Humans aren't very genetically diverse, that's how we discovered that we have survived near extinction.
www.scientificamerican.com/article/early-human-population-size-genetic-diversity/
Not the official carrying capacity of a plane, but fit inside the volume of a huge plane.
I did 697 while losing just a guy died of overwork , so i suppose the max ppl you can have is 700
Floww Im pretty sure the first over work death is also scrited.
sadness...........I LOVE IT I LOVE DRAMA
I went with an order run, basically ended up being a nazi and putting kids to work. (293 survived) pretty rough ending generator shutdown people starving left and right. My big problem most of the game was lots of people, but nothing for them to do. I wish I could have had shift workers so that the mines could always be open and some would just sleep during the day. I feel like that should be a feature.
I got "oppressive guards", but I didn't have the forceful persuasion law, I'm not sure what I did wrong. Catching thieves and removing the texts?
Good job for surviving, gents...
One day you'll run out of combustible
Exactly my thinking.
One day the storm will return, stronger than ever and seeking revenge
If I lived here I would go to TESLA CITY
they all died in tesla city
Just over 680 people on normal settings. It gets a lot easier once you have played it through a couple of times which is what i did. It didn't unlock anything special in Steam for me though so aside from the Steam achievements i earned and the satisfaction of it no hidden achievements unlocked :( Great game though and the music is perfect.
Then the coal supplies ran out
if you did order
if your doing faith have people to think the thieves fate instead of signing the public penance law to not cross the line hope that does something to help get a good ending down the faith tree
Not a bad. But if you manage to do it without any order laws then you can get a even better ending with less "bad" things. Although In retrospect. This is about the closet thing you'll get
The faith way is the wrong way, same as life.
Law and order is the way to go.
ROFL xD
That definitely sounds like r/Athiesm "I am euphoric" kind of stuff.
Nah faith is op
600 people? I had like 690 by the end of it. You failed to save a lot of dudes man xB
Not everytime you will get to find all refugees.
1c3manBG well all scout location have same RSS/refugee everyone. They are not randomly generated
My computer couldn't render the compressed time progression. It just ... crashed. Sucks.
This game is fucking hard yo
how would you guys try to survive everyone says dome but id dig
Could've maybe gone for sustain life instead of radical treatment to get a slightly better ending
Too many would have died. And way too many people would be in care house. Better choise is amputation and put them back to work.
It's a long road from amputation to prosthesis. By the time i had those, i had already 10+ automaton running most of my work buildings.
You can easily get an infirmary before you even get one amputee (or gravely ill person)
Sucks
Survived with 540 citizens.
Do you want to enact child labour law ?
I didn't even reach the storm ending too much riot and discontent
On my first playthrough I still only had tents when the storm hit me xD
Only 20-40 survived it from the 600
i bought the game like 5 days ago, and failed like 5 times, but when i mannaged to pass the storm only 140 people of 670 survived lol
I got this ending in my first try, W
what are the ways to get ether [choice] gave us strength
for both faith and order?
Teach me master...
I think the game even counts it a win, even if 1 person survives,
How did you get the "we havent crossed the line" ? I played like.. 5-6 times and couldn't get that
Don't sign all the laws (or the bad ones)
I think you didnt read anything from the purpose tree, you just saw ah that will be benefitional so you singed it without thinking about how this changes the colony
Watching you pointing your cursor is like watching slow motion of your ego crawling up my head
Still waiting for new dlc...
Seeing this I don't even want to complete the game now
Great ending but the world still frozen n that just only one storm from many2 storms to come...
I'm, of course, not entirely sure, but according to the information from the game there is only one Great Storm, and after it the weather will slowly improve.
it's possible to save more (689 personal one and I'm not even a pro at this)
Chill.
How can I get this ending?
you do realise the reson it says "we didn't cross the line" is becuse the game looks into your good and bad desicion and valuates them over 50/50?
My god. I get the fact that you're using GFN to record. I do that myself. But please just PLEASE check your audio. It sounds like it's recorded on a microwave!
Personally i finished the game with 697 ppl , 13 automatons , more than 10000 coal and 10000 food ( in easy mode of course)
i had 626 how?
lol bad ending when everyone is dying . poor
What does the game consider cross the line?
Wait. Did i accidentaly just won the main scenario with the best ending on my 1st try? Wow.
Prove it, or it didn't happen.
how long it took for just this game
thats not the best ending...still not bad
How did vou get so mano steam hubs early on?
Get the Steelworks and their upgrades from the Tech tree asap
I got the we have gone too far ending that aint good is it
Damn... and I abused faith even though i think religion is dumb
omg men i just realize im die before win :(
I think faith is the best ending, not this
Don't ey both have the same outcome?
I love the communist style of frostpunk.
THE CITY MY F£$KING SURVIVE!!!!
Purposefully held back the more evil (forceful persuasion but still got 'we went too far'. grrrrr
Wonder what's the threshold? Can you pick any 5 or picking the ones too close to 'new order' triggers it? I mean I never used violence towards any political enemies or disgruntled folks. Let the londoneer leave peacefully. C'mon I'm a good guy. :P I got discountent all the time because I was to soft on people. Booooo
Loyalty Oath i figured are like citizenship pledge, I mean it's not a bad idea with strangers joining all the time. Having bumped into Americans that killed Telsa now going to my city... I thought they might cause trouble if they are not reminded to behave. I built a Prison but never sent anyone in it... but each time I was offer to punish someone the only option was 'banish'... Why don't they let me use my prison for vandalism or street harassment???? I mean sure I had a propaganda office... but that was just a branch office of the BBC. :P
For Order:
Pledge of Loyalty, Forceful Persuasion and New Order;
For Faith:
Righteous Denunciation, Public Penance, Protector of the Truth and New Faith.
i had better end
prove it...
Order all the way - 1945 Style ftw.
80 people, best ending? Really? Are kidding me? kkkk
Can't relate
lol, of course this is NOT the best possible ending. Going for ORDER is already the wrong way. Using prisions only makes it worst
