I've struggled with an eating disorder since around July of 2017 and I'm still kindof on and off with it but I really hope that it gets better and I'm here if you need to talk :)
My mother put food in front of me but I didnt like it so she took it away and reheated it the next day, as I went half the week without eating as soon as I had money to buy my own food (aged 16) I started hoarding food in the wardrobe and binge eating. I'm 28 now and still bingeing.

I’m always shocked at how much parents would rather hold their children back than teach them necessary life skills. These people don’t want children, they just want babies.
They want to HAVE babies. They don't want to BE parents. The kids are expected to be adornments, and it's so frustrating to them when they don't fulfill that role.
If your kid can't hear the word no at age 5, imagine when he's 35. The junk food, the babying, the lack of discipline; These parents are literally doing everything wrong. The 5 year old is huge because he's been given loads of calories. He's tall, but also overweight, that's easy to see.

No. Mama has too much personal baggage. She's more about validating her own feelings than teaching these kids to be grown ups. I think she's threatened by the idea of them being individuals who make their own decisions.

Yeah like for example that quiz show was really cool & had 29 questions total but they only showed like 3 questions! That would’ve actually been really fun to watch, idk why they cut it so much :/ we didn’t even have enough time to get into it in order to start rooting for one of them to win, bc it only lasted like 30 seconds total!
I was shocked with the lack of common sense and parenting skills that this couple had before Jo came to help them out! 😱🙊 No discipline, rewarding bad behavior with sweets and bribes, taking the kids to the gym to play until after their bedtime, babying their eldest son, etc.

Yup. My just turned 3 year old dresses herself and we have some crazy outfits; the only thing I do is help her turn things right side out if they are inside out because she really struggles with that. Kids can frequently do much more than adults think they can.
They’ve actually had 3 more since this aired even!! They have 6 total now! Lmao 5 boys & 1 girl. The girl was born not long after the show probably bc she’s a young teen now, Dominic looks like an adult actually, he’s way taller than the dad even (& still overweight).
This made me think of late step brother. He had asthma and was bribed and appeased with food until he was 700 pounds and died at 40 of an asthma attack. He was always angry, even at 5.

Mom had her priorities with the food & snacks wrong. 5 year old eating constantly is bad for his health. Snack jars were quick thinking on Jo Jo’s part. She doesn’t play she gets to the point like an army Sargent. Mom finally got it together.
