something that can't be shown in a video like this is just how amazing this song feels during gameplay. those big horn drops touchdown as the match goes through the next rounds and the final drop during the final round is so satisfying. it makes just getting to the final round feel like a victorious moment in itself and no matter if you win or lose that the prospect of fighting it is its own reward. and thats pretty damn fitting for Ryu. It's been so long but alot of people have forgotten that Ryu isn't just this emotionless stoic warrior. he has a heart and he loves fighting. Just like how Rising Dragoon showed his younger brash self. This song emphasizes Ryu's fighting spirit and the joy he gets from battle and getting stronger.

Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima paved the way for dance, house and hip hop to be part of the fight in video games. 3rd Strike and KI are 2 games that really did a good job adding mixes and dynamic changes to the rounds. I like how it has some elements of Ryu's classic theme, and some bits from his Third Strike theme as well. It's a very Ryu style track. If they can do this with the whole returning cast it's going to be a heck of a soundtrack.
What I noticed the most in this song is a specific part with the trumpet section at 1:14. it sounds exactly like the trumpet progression in the song "Pick up the pieces" by Average White Band. It's very nice!
This sounds like a celebration. Ryus classic theme will always be the goat but this sounds like a man who had been struggling with something (dark hado, for those who dont know) for so long and has finally, finally, finally surmounted it. A next chapter in Ryu's Journey has begun

In context, this song fits with Ryu today, since he manifested the Satsui no Hado he never really had a break, (and on top of that Akuma harassing him to use it and having a fight to the death himself, something he longs for, Akuma practically seeks to satisfy his own ego) no matter how much it bothers some, although it is to be expected that you cannot please everyone and I have also followed this saga since the second game, he has never had a moment of true peace and calm because of that power, in SF 5 that weight was finally lifted from his shoulders and now, although he is still someone serious and stoic, he can now have a good time having fun doing something (Even Oro himself gives hints about Ryu's development) and this theme in my opinion fits with that perspective now.
2:55-3:12 is the most hypest part. This definitely gives third strike vibes somewhat and shows how far he’s come after conquering the satsui no hado. With this theme I’ll definitely enjoy playing as Ryu

Ryu wasn't struggling in 3rd Strike...nothing about him as changed so the theme doesn't land at all.
@@blackout1524 Ryu has changed he is older and much more wise, theme actually fits when whe you look at Ryu as a whole.
@@LarryBonson Gouken is older, stronger and wiser than Ryu yet his SFIV theme was serious. If they wanted to show how wise and strong Ryu is they would give him a theme that reflects that. His SF6 theme doesn't fit the character.

As a practicing musical composer, I absolutely adore when funky songs incorporate slightly detuned strings. It's such a vibe.
really didnt recognize that but yes, jiust shut up, dont tell anyone, somesecrets must be kept dude
i'd imagine the songs were made digitally so everything had intentionality. it would be unlikely (or maybe it's my inexperience talking) that they'd put together a piece then go back to adjust the "strings" or key.
I'd credit it more so to writing in dissonance which is very common in jazz, and consequently hip hop and street music.
Good concept, but this song sound nothing like ryu theme... maybe the flutes...
@@SebaSawa well because it's not trying to be previous ryu themes

Ryu the New GigaChad
Victory dance theme
Having played World Tour and maxed out Ryu's bonding, this theme suits this version of him just SO well. A man that can finally live his life to the fullest and however he wants; one that can continue his pursue of true strength without having to limit himself to not be possesed by an evil energy that makes him go mad. A Ryu that can now have a life outside of just training. A Ryu that, mentally speaking, is finally at peace
The theme of a man who hasn't just come to terms with his inner demons, but outright conquered and tamed them.
So much so that the demon (Kage) threw a fit and ran home to sulk
The idiot who composed this as a theme for Ryu is the one who needs to conquer his inner demons, I rather would say.
Ryu is like "oh yeah im feeling good" in SF6 with this theme
He’s Master Ryu now 💪🏽
Ryu: **disgusted look on face, when being referred to as "Master Ryu"**
In SFV there was a special battle you could try where you fight Ryu as ‘The Master’ he was extremely tough to beat
Thus theme is making him seem like a student not a master, its a joke
@@h4b2_k66 aren't masters just students?
@@giahuynguyenkim6389 you start off as a Student then after experience and battle proving yourself as the years go by become a Master. And right now this Deejay theme is making ryu look like a joke, they should have just remixed hip hop his older theme
This theme is much happier than most of Ryu’s, pretty fitting now that he’s conquered his (literal) inner demon.
His 2nd Impact theme comes close to this level of upbeat-ness if im bein honest

something that can't be shown in a video like this is just how amazing this song feels during gameplay. those big horn drops touchdown as the match goes through the next rounds and the final drop during the final round is so satisfying. it makes just getting to the final round feel like a victorious moment in itself and no matter if you win or lose that the prospect of fighting it is its own reward. and thats pretty damn fitting for Ryu.
Ryu is stoic and emotionless. In SF6 he has a constant scowl on his face and never shows a hint of happiness. This theme doesn't match the gameplay or his non existent personality.
@@ryokusanagi7855 spoken like someone who knows jack shot about what's he's talking about. Happiness isn't about just being goofy with a big smile. Ryu expresses his love for fighting in his way and how he speaks to others

As someone who loves hip hop and edm in fighting and beat em up games I totally love it. Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima paved the way for dance, house and hip hop to be part of the fight in video games. 3rd Strike and KI are 2 games that really did a good job adding mixes and dynamic changes to the rounds. Glad SF6 is falling in line with those before.
You can hear the OG Ryu theme in the bassline and it occasionally gets shared by the Saxes and Orchestra. Beast mode remix.
This is a banger! The old theme still exists guys! It's not gone anywhere. There will most likely be a classic pack for themes and costumes.

Ryu in a whole new state of mind after beating that Dark Hado. This theme speaks volumes in how far he's come. Every music piece gets me more and more hype for this game. I haven't felt this much goosebumps since SF3.

I am so sorry Ken. Hope everything turns out well for you

Really like this song.
35 years of the Wandering World Warrior, always good to see another SHORYUKEN from him.
"This will be a good song."
- Ryu, SF6
After so many games with Ryu so serious, giving him a theme like this feels earned.
"Let us Begin."

Ryu, I'm mainly a tekken player, but you're the best main character in fighting games
I was honestly quite skeptical when I heard that Chun Li’s theme didn’t quite sound like her own in her’s but after listening to Ryu’s I’ve come to realise. They are getting old and have grown almost past their prime and finally settling in with their new lives and journeys which are almost completely different from the ones they had before when they were younger
Given how usually the most powerful characters in Street Fighter are old AF, I wouldn't say Ryu and Chun Li are past their prime, haha.
Past their prime? They're probably the strongest they've ever been and definitely the most well adjusted they've ever been.
This kid gone be talkin less about past their prime when the shin shoryuken takes his jaw through the roof of a nearby building
@@stefanbraidwood2007 okay lol but what I mean is considering Ryu’s state in this game now, it seems that he is now at his peak better than ever but older now. He mastered the power of nothingness, cleansed the dark hado and feels like he seems really complete and fulfilled with his life as a martial artist and an individual. He will always be a warrior at heart looking for battle but this Ryu seems to have mastered it over the years. He finally feels almost complete
Or maybe Capcom realize it's getting boring of remixing SF2 music over and over again
I love how these character themes sometimes tell a story within themselves, take Sakura and Cody's themes from SFV for example.
This new theme for Ryu really represents a calm after the storm, how much he has overcome to reach this new stage in life, but regardless, the journey still continues.
THIS!!! i was tellin a friend that i REALLY like cody's theme in SFV because it represents him overcoming that "dark apathetic time in his life" and its a more upbeat version of his theme. The same can be said here!
Fantastic theme and so different from his past games.

Now he is just here to teach the young guys the ropes and the veterans a thing or two.

Every moment gives us a chance to become more than what we are - Ryu
That was good, but when the horns come in right after it get even better!

I like how the theme is more similar to street fighter 3 compared to 2,4 and 5 which signifies the fact that ryu is in a new era
Street Fighter 6 takes place after Street Fighter 3 so it make sense to have his theme be sort of an evolution of his SF 3 theme similar to what they did with 4 and 5.
This legit sounds like alot of themes in sf5 though.
