Who would have thought this mix would work but its bloody brilliant. i need to try and down load this onto a loop . The best of british + the best of USA amazing
Sublime harmonies, catchy tune, great lyrics, dance rhythm, new twist. Bravo! I never was a part of the surfing/beach/cruising subculture here in CA, but I still appreciated their music. Classic.
Goodness me, this is depressing. The Beach Boys are a group with an unfortunate number of lows but seeing one of the greatest songwriters of all time in Brian Wilson hanging around in the background while the band play second fiddle to Status Bloody Quo is one to add to the list. And on an episode of "Talking Telephone Numbers" no less, the epitome of a naff 90s show remembered fondly by absolutely no-one. Yes, we have to bear in mind Brian has only recently escaped the clutches of Dr. Landy and in some ways it's a miracle he's even out of the house. Plus Carl is not in a good place at this point. But to see the greats reduced to this is enough to make you bawl your eyes out.
he has ever sang falsetto just look in concert 1980 in knewborth when they're playing Barbara Ann, it's obviusly that Al sang falsetto although not stronger or longer range like Brian do, I also saw Al Jardine sing "Wouldn't It Be Nice" in 1969... Even I think most of Falsetto voice during Beach Boys concert in 1970's till 1980's belongs to Al Jardine because i don't have any prove who sang falsetto in Beach Boys tour 1970-1980's.
Bruce probably does the falsetto on this . If you watch knebworths fun fun fun and in , 2012 in Japan and in 2015 he can still hit those notes strongly
@widdyhabb In this clip there all together. The studio recording was done as you said it. Bruce is singin the high voice in the clip but in the studio Matt sang it. Matt is the son of Al Jardine.
i didn;t understand what quo were going at this time, playing in all black suites, and playing with the beach boys, too me they were pure pop, they were doing anything to stay at the top, and too me it was all about gimmicks before then and after - 1988 after
I think early on the beach boys were all about singing and harmonies and not that good at playing instruments. In the studio it’s been said the wrecking crew was the ones recording the music. Fast forward to 2012 50th anniversary, there are about 12 musicians on stage , about 7 or 8 of them are very good at what they do..All the very early video of them playing live has been video and recording sync together , even hearing keyboard parts and no keyboard player.. I just wonder what they would have sounded like live with just the original members.
@jeroen1 I'm pretty sure they're not on the same stage. Not even in the same country. Quo recorded their part in England and sent it over to America, where the Beach Boys added their part of it. But it sounds good, anyway. By the way, who is Matt Jardine? I seriously doubt that Al Jardine ever sang any falsetto leads on any Beach Boy recordings.

Legends
I was trying to remember when my adoration for Quo declined and I have just seen it although in fairness it started in 1984.
Danke
@JDrevolver66 youre right. It is the voice of Matt Jardine that is singing the falsetto. Nice to see them all together performing.
WOW!

Not a bad cover in all fairness. I like the addition of the Clarence Clemons inspired sax solo.
i was supriised back than that american rock band knew status quo

Brian pretty much completely stopped singing falsetto after 1969
Bruce probably does the falsetto on this . If you watch knebworths fun fun fun and in , 2012 in Japan and in 2015 he can still hit those notes strongly

Pssssst
1:55 Carl missing his guitar
Ick...Im kinda doubting the Beach Boys voices are live. There's now way in hell Bruce is actually doing that falsetto.

New wave as fuck, but it's alright
does the lead singer remind anyone else of bob hoskins?
@jeroen1 I'm pretty sure they're not on the same stage. Not even in the same country. Quo recorded their part in England and sent it over to America, where the Beach Boys added their part of it. But it sounds good, anyway. By the way, who is Matt Jardine? I seriously doubt that Al Jardine ever sang any falsetto leads on any Beach Boy recordings.
Al used to sing Brian's falsetto
@@azami123 Really? When? On which recordings?
When Brian stopped singing live Al took over his falsetto. I can't remember which documentary says this but I distinctly remember it
Brian Wilson as your backing singer not a bad choice
What is this??
❤❤❤❤ hello again. See you later Sabine usw wir sind pleite und haben nix zu rauchen leider nice Weekend See you later ❤❤❤❤❤ the shiw must go on ehrli
Ch See you later ❤❤❤❤
He looks like the mob boss from the Mask
pretty life-less audience eh! haha
Crap sound balance.
what are you saing is rick parfitt dead
Don't make music like this no more
Both are great bands, but this one feels artificial and the decline with the sound of the 80's.
I hate lip syncing
Dreadful 😂
Complete lip sync absolute garbage.
well dah! of course it's mimed
Terrible terrible terrible. No one involved with this should be proud at all.
Awful
Are you having a laugh? A stage full of legends and a great song!
