Hello! Nice to see you and the cats again! Your fabric is beautiful! I must admit I was skeptical about the plans, but the binding really brought it all together. The blotchiness can happen when it's not stirred enough, which makes the heat hit some parts of the fabric more than others, but it can also happen when you put dry material into the pot. In dye class in college we always soaked things in water first (sometimes overnight for wools) because then the dye will soak into the fibres much more quickly. If it all goes in as a big dry wad then there will be air pockets where the dye liquid takes a while to soak in, and the parts that hit the dye first will have a head start so they'll turn out darker. This one still looks pretty even to me though!
Woot! That fabric is soo awesome! Very fun cozy vest! Glad to see you! ❤ And the Big Boi is epic! I recently had my iron go out, but it was just a bad bit of the wire at a connection point. My dad is electrically savvy and clipped & redid the wire connection for me! We were also ready for it to be a thermal fuse after that was something he had to replace in their rice cooker. Hope yours can be revived too!
I have a sweatshirt with no sleeves that I upcycled-- it is navy, and I appliqued a red velvet anarchist symbol on it, as well as matching armsceye bias and hood. However, I never have a good time to wear it. When is it sweatshirt weather, but aso sleeveless garment weather? lol. love yours tho!
That is an extremely relevant point! I like a lot of layers so for me it's not so bad to sort of treat it like a sweater vest which is my plan 🙂 the anarchist applique sounds fabulous! I hope you find an opportunity to wear it a lot in the future.
Hello! You have been missed and so glad to see you back! Beautiful weaving. You are a natural and have a great eye. Thanks for another interesting video.
Yay!!! The sweatshirt turned out great! Also, I had a weird idea for the loom name (please feel free to ignore): I really like Big Boi as a name, but if you wanted them to have a more formal name, you could say that Big Boi is short for Bigginston Boi Loomshire III (or something of that nature) 😊
@@BeQueerMakeStuff it was my fault too, because if I thought ahead I'd have sewn it with cotton. Newbie error. Also I thought I wasn't going to like it enough to bother dyeing it....
It has great hobbity vibes
Yassss cozyyyy :D

Ohh that thing with the stitching happened when I sewed my banyan with polyester thread and then decided to dye it blue...
OOOffff :( sorry it's a relatable experience. Durned polyester!
