This was a life-long dream for Floor, she saw "Phantom of the Opera" when she was 11 with Henk Poort as the Phantom, and it was her dream to sing a duet with him of this song. Alittle background, as popular as Floor is worldwide in the metal scene, she was an unknow in her own country, ony Tim Akkerman (Winner) had seen her preform when she was with After Forever, and Hank Poort had heard of her briefly, but none of the others knew her, well this show changed everything for her, she and Nightwish are now one of the most listened to artist in Holland,, and Floor announced a solo tour of 10 dates and they all sold out within a mere 3 hours, and Henk will be joining her as a special quest. Also Henk will be performing wih Nightwish on some of their European dates.
Nightwish fans knew she was awesome. Beste Zangers just showed the rest of the world what we already knew. Thank God she said yes when they called and asked her to come help them finish that tour in 2012.🤘👍
The perfect duet, you swear that Webber wrote this for them and they had a ball doing it. Floor sings with one of her idols and nailed it!! Put the costumes on and the dark cavern set and you are looking at the stage production. Floor goes from Valkyrie Goddess of Metal to Musical Goddess that we her die-heart fans are happy to share but you have catching up to do!!! Check out the other songs on this great show with different genres and in different languages!!!

Henk Poort is a Baritone Opera singer who can alsoo sing as a Tenor. He is born in Amsterdam and didn't start his classical education untill he was 26. But he sang as a non-proffesional way before that and stood out amongst the rest. He first did a schooling in crafting Biljarts-tables 👀 According to himself he has done 30 Opera's (many in Germany)m 28 Opperettas and about 10 Musicals and some acting. He is a long time Idol of Floor Jansen since she heared Henk sing in the dutch Phantom. Yes Floor is a fangirl 😜😁😍 She said to him that even though she now knows him personnaly, he will always be "THE" Henk Poort to her 😎🎶👍

*When, where & who* : episode was recorded on a rainy April day 2019, outdoors at resort Atzaró on Ibiza Island. Not only Jansen & Poort sang live, also the MF Band performed live! during this TV show Best Singers. So, also credits to the *MF Band* with: Marcel Fisser (bandleader & lead guitar) - Gregor Hamilton (keyboards) - Marijn van den Berg (drums) - Serge Bredewold ( *bass* guitar) - Martijn de Laat (trumpet) - Arno Slijper (piano / keyboards) - Edwin de Groot (guitar / backing vocals) - Lesley van der Aa (backing vocals) and multi-instrumentalist Hubert Heeringa (the headscarfed saxofonist, violinist, etc.)
Info on the tv show Best Singers: “Every one of those people on the couches were other Dutch vocalists. They took turns each week essentially serenading one of the other artists. They each would take songs from the catalog of the singer "on the couch" or that influenced them somewhere in their life and they would perform it with their own spin. Floor being from Nightwish, After Forever, Revamp, Ayreon, Star One, etc did amazing jobs. The week she was on the couch it is worth noting that ONLY the guy you referred to as the "Ramones t-shirt guy" flipping his hair did a Nightwish song (his remake of Nemo). Though Henk Poort did disturbed's version of "The Sound of Silence" in that episode. This performance here is from duets for the last episode (#12). It is also interesting that Floor is in what is with no contest the largest act any Netherlands born vocalist is in, but she was virtually unknown to the people of the Netherlands. Until this show. Nightwish is from Finland and they are the most popular act from that country and they get a lot of regular radio play. Nightwish is the popular music for Finnish people. :) Yet until now Floor was lesser known to the Dutch people. No more. There are a ton of reactions to this and pretty much everything she DID (and the other singers)...”

For setting the record straight: Everybody knows the history with Tarja and Nightwish, but Tarja and Floor are friends and performed live together. There's certainly no competition between them going on.

I've only been watching Nightwish and Floor since June . She and the band rock and they have light and dark songs and she growls in some of them. She is a 6 ft. Valkaryrie and down to earth. There is a song she does solo that is in the operatic aria.

Welcome to Floor Jansen(I pronounce it Fleur Yansen)and her band Nightwish. Many fans like 'Ghost Love Score' from their 2013 Wacken Open Air concert but I prefer 'Storytime' which the band leader/keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen loosely based on Peter Pan. But there are lots of great songs on that video.
Floor is the third singer on Nightwish. Finnish mezzo Soprano Tarja Turunen was the first and she was also the co-founder in 1996 with Tuomas. She was dismissed from the band in 2006 as a result of serious disagreements with the other band members. Anette Olzon was the second singer but her voice was just not compatible with the band's Symphonic Metal music.
Floor had suffered a serious mental breakdown after she left her last band. She had previously worked with Nightwish and when Tuomas heard she was not working he invited her to sing with Nightwish before their Wacken concert. She had to learn the setlist(all their Wacken songs)in TWO DAYS! Which she did.
Now comes Floor's introduction to the Dutch people(even though she herself is Dutch) through Beste Zangers and it could not happen to a more talented, wonderful, intelligent and gentle person. Nightwish is booked at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam next November and she will sing POTO with Henk Poort. Henk is the top opera singer in Holland and has also been invited to sing on tour with Nightwish(at the request from Floor).
BTW you see how much taller Floor is than Henk? She is 6'1"-6'2" and 200lbs. She was a professional bodybuilder in her late teens and 20s but now at almost 40 she has retired from that activity. She still has big arms and legs though!

@@MatsuPatty check also other vids from the show beste zangers 2019 (12th season). I recommend Henk singing with Emma Vivo Per Lei. Floor and Tim singing Shallow. Emma's version of Strong is very emotional (original from Floor's former band After Forever). Also Floor's other solo performances on this show are great.
