- So I thought I'd document the first week of owning a Mniarogekko Chahoua, a reptilian resident of New Caledonia. If you've ever owned a Crested Gecko or Gargoyle Gecko you may find this one interesting.

One eternaty later..LOLROFLOL>..you have great humour!!!LOL And I really do love the way you add to your vids!! Where does one find one of these? I would love one...but not sure they are here in Canada. Looks like it has both crested food and live too. Anyway, I thought I would tell you I now have 2 babies from my leopard gecko pair. And they are SO CUTE!! They look alike, even though from 2 different egg batches. So daddy is dominant:) I took pictures, so will try to post them for you. It is all I will try to hatch for now. I am keeping the first baby, and will find a GOOD home for the second one. Maybe keep both!:) I love critters...especially those that don't make me have asthma attacks. . Oh, my crestie lost his tail....oh NO! But, he is doing fine. I do find he does not climb as well anymore however. Darn. Was a very strange experience seeing that happen! I was working around the tank and suddenly crestie just freeked out. awwww, I felt SO bad...Thanks for showing us how to do this the right way.:) LOVE IT! As usual
aw thank you so much :D haha im not sure, they seem easier to get hold of in america lol, lots of breeders there Aww how cute! :') I'd love to own an egg and wait for it to hatch out, would be amazing, just waiting on one of my geckos to miraculously lay a fertile egg haha. Sorry to hear about your cresties tail, maybe if you introduce wider cork branches if may be able to get around a bit easier? Maybe worth a try haha :)

Where did you get it from? My crested gecko is attracted to movement more than scent when live food is involved, so maybe try using tongs to hold a mealworm of something that will wriggle or feed in a box where the crickets can run everywhere. Let me know how you get on!

Is this a Mainland or PI type? Looks Mainland to me. We have a PI and it's currently 43 grams. Will not eat anything but crickets which worries us. Have tried all flavors and brands of MRP. Another lizard you might want to try is a Leachie. We have 2 and just loves them to pieces.........Thanks for the video.
Im getting my first lizard on christmas :D Certainly a crested gecko and if it's a boy then I would name her Zazu and if it's a girl then I would name her Nala, Lion King vibe xD
from google searching this gecko, i was a little skeptical on its looks, thinking it looked kinda ugly... but now seeing it in action, its actually really cute!
haha when i first showed my family a pic of a chahoua they were like :S ew why? but actually yeah they're really sweet, and although their skin can make them look rough, they're really soft like a crested gecko :)
Can you possibly recommend a reputable channel(s) for advice on house lizards in pet settings. Florida has non native but also non invasive Mexican, Mediterranean, and Asian house lizards... but with slightly different coloring as I understand it. We also have several day lizards. Maybe I am having hard luck lol but I seem to be finding the worst obviously misinformed videos lol 😂 I'm pretty sure even house geckos should never be on sand lol 😂
Does anyone know if it is possible to house two blue azures poison dart frogs, a red eyed crocodile stink, and a crested gecko in an 80-gallon tank. If size is the issue what would you recommend and if it's not possible I just wanted to know. Sorry if this is the dumbest question ever. Thanks

I had a qs, do you give him the cgd and take the food away and feed insects twice a week? The food has the vitamins they need, but is it necessary to dust the insects with calcium with D3 and vitamins like rep-cal herptitive or just dust them with the multivitamin?

Leopard geckos aren't crepuscular. They are Cathemeral, meaning they are awake during random intervals of the day when it's beneficial to them. There was a paper done on Leopard geckos that has evidence that supports this; as well as those in the military seeing Leopard geckos out and active during the daytime.
Do the chewies require a tall tank? I have a 20 gallon long tank that is vacant. Thanks!

My chahoua does the same thing, he sleeps but stays out in the open, he hides like 50% of the time though
what about naming it Chacha. it itilizes the first part of its species name and can work for either gender.

Leopard geckos are honestly the best for begginier reptile owners. They're the least expensive to maintain, they're super docile and are very low maintence. I really recomend you start with one of these... but personally I just think anoles arent that cool, though its probably because I'm a floridian and they're everywhere here xD.

leopard geckos are great! there cheaper to care for than bearded dragons and they are just the greatest beginner lizards to own.
Ive heard anoles are actually pretty tricky, if you maybe want something a huggy lizard. Go for a blue tounge skink. They eat quite a bit but otherwise they're very docile and love handling

A quick question: does your new gecko have a possibility of carrying a desease the leos could get? if so, what deseases?
well any new pet should be kept in quarantine for 9-12 weeks. But it will never interact with my other geckos so as long as i keep my hands clean, and the area around the tank clean, everyone should be fine.
