Rossi and parfitt are criminally underrated guitarists and musicians as a whole in the world and their songs have become rock n roll classics. When parfitt died in 2016 quo lost a major part of their sound and england lost a genuine rock God. Long live the quo
Noddy Holder the most underrated rock singer of all time. Slade don't even get mentioned on documentaries about the 70s but they had more number 1 hits than any other band.
The greatest sadness in the history of Rock is the demise of the THE FRANTIC FOUR, the greatest Rock Band in history. No matter what your bias or ignorance is, STATUS QUO are the most sincere and genuine and authentic Rock Band to plug in or hit a snare or cymbal. As the great John Lydon said in a BBC interview in 1977, the reason that THE SEX PISTOLS liked and respected STATUS QUO was because " they don't care what you think " Therefore, QUO's attitude defines what PUNK Rock is. There are some very intelligent musicologists who've drawn comparisons between The Ramones and STATUS QUO. This is due to the two bands creating their own brand and style that appears to be simple, yet is complex and unique. The demise of the Frantic Four has parallels to SPINAL TAP's. absurdity. When they reformed in 2013 and played sold out shows at Wembley Stadium, and other major venues, Francis ' Frame ' Rossi said that when they looked into the crowd they saw the toughest and hardest men and women openly and uncontrollably weeping as the greatest Rock Band of all time came on stage . For the first time since 1970, Rossi didn't say " ow are ya then, alright? " Which is his trademark intro. This was a very special and auspicious occasion in the history of the Universe and all the Gods were watching and listening. As the two greatest Guitarists and Bass player vocalists of all time conferred with the best swing/shuffle Drummer of all time, they launched into " Junior's Wailing " which knocked the first 50 rows back a metre. The Bass player and Vocalist that performed the vocals on the first 4 songs had multiple sclerosis, yet he gave the best performance of all 4 members. Within just a few seconds they launched into " Backwater/Just Take Me " a LANCASTER/PARFITT classic from their 1974 album called QUO. The crowd were exploding in rapture as the greatest Rock Band in history played the best riffs and rhythms ever heard. When Francis Rossi said " What can I say " Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan, the crowd went berserk, absolutely wild. He was talking about the Bass player and Drummer he had personally driven out of the Band in the mid-80's. Alan ' Nuff ' Lancaster on Bass / Vocals, John 'Spud ' Coghlan on Drums, Rick ' Reg ' Parfitt the best Rhythm Guitarist of all time / Vocals and Francis ' Frame ' Rossi the best Lead Guitarist of all time /Vocals otherwise known as The Frantic Four. Unbeknownst to all STATUS QUO supporters, we had no idea that when we heard " Pictures of Matchstickmen " in 1968, or " Down the Dustpipe " in 1970, that we were hearing the birth and fledgling sounds of the future No.1 Rock Band in history. if you ever want to meet the most ardent Rock Music supporters and you've got a few hours to listen, then have a chat with someone from the STATUS QUO army. Whether they are a Factory worker or a Lawyer, they'll give you the same reasons why STATUS QUO stand alone as The Greatest Rock Band of all time. RIP Alan Lancaster & Rick Parfitt
What a superb homage to this frequently underrated band. This is a "nutshell" tribute to an extraordinary rock group who proved many critics wrong. Wonderfully written! Bob Geldof knew exactly what he was doing when he chose them to front for Live Aid.
POMM by The Status Quo was my favorite 60s song, and after that, I looked for any other songs by them and didn't hear anything besides Ice In The Sun (so what?), and finally 5 years later, I heard Paper Plane on the radio. Whoa. Eventually I got all their albums. When they stopped turning up the guitars in the studio (after, Blue For (the rest of) You (it was called Status Quo in the U.S.A., only SQ album that ever charted, at #146), their albums became pedestrian. Still was my favorite band. They replaced Nazareth in 1976.
Bragg really is a pillock, isn't he? Not content to be all snobbish about the band, he also has a dig at the fans, too. And, the interviewer obviously hasn't got a clue what he's talking about, either. Only Noddy and Tom knew and understood what Quo were all about and didn't rely on the same, old tired stereotypes of what tended to be considered as what was Status Quo.
In America they DO NOT play or recognize John Fogerty for ‘rockin all over the world’ they play “CENTERFiELD” but not Rockin all over the world. That song is only a known hit in UK Europe and parts of South America. But here in USA neither version is a hit. Sadly
The panel was made up of an archetype rocker bloke in sunglasses , the proud homosexual pop singer in the middle, and the lesbian lass on the end. And they say the 80's wasn't progressive..

At least Noddy spoke some sense.
Status quo -заряд бодрящих песен для души и тела ! Батарейка , которая не садится.

He did, most notably Backwater, but some were shit. Big Man from 1+9+8+2 was possibly his worst
You gotta love Noddy!
Well done Noddy, for not mentioning that Quo used to open for Slade.
But you did.
@@wolfgangmarkusgstrein8522 Yes, but the point is HE didn't.
All Hail Sir Nodkin of Holdershire!
Bob Geldof knew exactly what he was doing when he chose them to front for Live Aid.
Noddy,Tom R, and Billy friggin Bragg gawd these were the days...luv it
Noddy Humble and benevolent, like all us brummies :)
Noddy is NOT a Brummie! He`s a Yam Yam. Born and bred in Newall street in Caldmore, Walsall.
Jeff, Noddy is a Walsall lad, NOT a Brummie! He's Black Country.
Oh no, wrong wrong and wrong. Noddy is a thoroughbred Licky, ain't he!
1982, definitely not staying on the road says Noddy. 40 years later, still on the road albeit with only Rossi left.
And some others...Tom Robinson and Billy Bragg!!
Amazing you wouldn't get a proper discussion on TV like this today.
Самая любимая группа я не вырас все маи годы
R.I.P Alan Lancaster!

Imagine if nod sang for quo now that would be good
He did on, In The Army Now, even though it wasn't the proper Quo.
Noddy is a Yam Yam not a Brummy. He is from Walsall

Billy Bragg? Fuckin' nobody!
Bragg-knob!
Good on yer Noddy!!!
Billy Bragg, you don't know what you are talking about. Bet the crowd goes crazy whilst you drone on about left wing politics.
Where’s Dave Hill…
Ha...Quo stopping....ah no.
The panel was made up of an archetype rocker bloke in sunglasses , the proud homosexual pop singer in the middle, and the lesbian lass on the end. And they say the 80's wasn't progressive..
Не плохо!!! Но до Слэйда далеко
Bragg no talent
Albums all sounded the same, what a plonker a group gets a sound and you know who they are.
This TV is trash ours is way better
Ну и где Слэйд?
