Yes, most Tradesmen become owners. Hard part for the Tradesmen is learning the admin part of the business instead of just relying on your hands-on talents to get you through. We've all made some dump choices. Still making them now and when we were younger. But some of us got caught and some did not get caught. I would suggest to get into personal development. Listen to Eric Thomas, Tony robins, the list goes on. But tou can get a ton of personal development free on youtube. But you have to take it further. Invest in you. Take this vary serious. That means you have to do the things you dont want to do to get where you want to be, or better yet, where you need to be. Dive in and go. Motivation is all around us. I have plenty of friends and family that are in the trade and none are licensed and tell me how they let a lot of work go because of it, I’d be mostly dealing with house buildings, from the ground up, I’m planning on starting it off the ground from my own home, I have the land and I want to build 2 units on it and rent them out or sell it depends on what looks more promising, but wich license will allow me to get this done?
I got my home study course for 750. What do you recommend to do to fill out experience sheet if I only worked for a legit company for 1 a year n the rest with different contractors bouncing around . I’m getting my c-33

I was looking at possibility of getting my license, but I am not prepared to start over, I have no provable experience, but I worked for a guy that was a general contractor, he was my best friends dad, I started in my very early teenage years, I worked all summers, & evenings after school, & while I got a normal job I continued to work for him until I was in my early 30's when he died, problem is I was paid under table, always in cash. so how do you prove you have many years of experience? all residential work though.

@@ConstructionEntrepreneurs he never got workers comp for anyone, he hired people he knew, always paid cash, & many jobs he never got building permit, until after he got caught without, & he knew building inspector, which would give him a week, & then he would get it, we built all kinds of additions to homes, built buildings, remodeled, even roofing, siding, even electrical, brick laying, just what ever needed to be done but I am also a mechanic, & majority of my life also under the table, also a auto-body man, also only worked 1 shop with paychecks, current shop I do all welding fab & sheet metal for, no paper trail, professional welding, yep same. plus primary job not in either field. for a good bad example every garage I worked at, I have done air conditioning work, never took test, but in my early training days early 1980's it wasnt needed, but never got certified. I have worked 2-3 side jobs all my life, plus primary job & now I want to walk away from my primary job, & start a new career.

Legally as a General B Contractor you can as: Primary Contractor: take on a contract only when its 3 or more trades. With one of the trades being framing. Heres my educated quess from my experience based on years in business. 1-5yrs:$30-50k, 5-10yrs:$40-60k, 10-20yrs:$100-1m. Yhe upside is so much greater once you have the experience behind you. I thought about getting my license but I don't think its worth it. for one your fees for a license that's your god giving right in the first place two the bankers need to get these houses built so let them regulate themselves out of business maybe they can lobby for lesser regulations. plus working for a builder is not usually a good thing you have to wait on pay and your deepening on others to decide your well being. these licenses are set up to screw you over and protect THEM. get a 9 to 5 and do side work on the weekends and don't go spend that extra money unless its going to make you more money.

General Building B License. The General Engineering A is not for the same type of work.

The the individual's are not listen with the board they cant do any contractual business with the license.

I would call the board. Each case is different. If you get some good news get that persons name and move forward.

Yes. The CSLB recommends 7 on felonies and 4yrs on misdemeanors.
