They were Samana Kings examplary of what Tamizh ethos should be...
Kannagi and kovalan from poompahar and then they move to maduri
It's not poompuhar it happens in Madurai ,Pandiya s court. Kindly correct or re edit this video
She should describe from Silapathikaram not other stories.
There is lot of mistakes in the narration. The internal gem stones are rubies and not diamonds. They migrated to Madurai which was the Pandya capital and there the Kovalan is accused
silapadhigaram happened around 1-3 CE
why this lady is blabbering about silapathikaram and tamil culture. nowhere it is mentioned as dravidian culture.
She has done justice to the extent that she has brought it to the notice of our northern brothers!! But however she is not accurate in all aspects!
Kovalan was executed.. lady open the book and read it properly . Don't mislead this Poor Northie😂
Did u read the epic plzvread it's in Google
She lost me at aryan migration
They lived in pukar..
I only learned kannagi cursed to burn the city not the other thing ..... But other one gone to over but also its ruby not diamond
Ranveer u can't know everything, india is so vast
As a south Indian I feel the story was not recited as it actually is!! seriously not justified... the power this story holds up and the importance could have been expressed better ... disappointed big time !!!
The couple Kannagi & Kovalan were from the place called Poompuhar which was part of Chola Kingdom,
they travelled from here to MADURAI to start their new Life , MADURAI which was ruled by THE PANDIAYANS
and story goes as kovalan tries to sell his wife's anklets to start a business and people there holds him captive for the theft and thus Kovalan was produced in-front of the pandiyan king.... the Majesty - without much interrogation .. just seeing the anklets which had similar appearance to the one that was of his Queen's.. punishes kovalan and orders for execution.... the kings orders were intstantly followed ... and KOVALAN was DEAD!!!!!!!! (the speaker here did not mention this !!)
Knowing this Fact ... with full of Anger, immense pain and sorrow ... Kannagi rushes to the court confronting the King for Justice and the Wrong that he Did...!!
She stands tall and fights against the King.
The King asks her to Prove if those Anklets are hers!
Kannagi Asks the king what was inside his Queen's anklets ?? MUTHU ( Pearls) replies - the King
she laughs and says ... mine has MANIKYAM ( The Red Rubies - not diamonds !!! dont know why the speaker giving wrong reference)
saying that ... Kannagi asks the king to break his Queen's recently found anklets to prove the truth... when he throws the same on the floor
the RED rubies splatter ..... Proving Kannagi and Kovalan's Innocence
the King immediately realizes his mistake and seeks forgiveness from kannagi ... but she says nothing can bring back her innocent husband and the life she has Lost!!!
Thus Burning down the Whole CITY of MADURAI of her pain and angerr
she did not burn the whole city without a reason !!!
Sad that ... this could have told clearly.
pandiya king died on the spot due to cardiac arrest after knowing the truth when kannaki proved it. he didnt commit suicide. why the channel ask abt tamizh literatures to outsider
Instead of saying anklet u should say silambu… those are not like which we wear in the modern days…. The rubys are inside the silambu… it is not made up of diamonds… if u don’t know anything
y r u saying the story madam… Ranveer we Tamilians are feeling bad about this false podcast of urs… how ridiculous this is… how can u spread such wrong information in the entire podcast
Correct.. Anklet is entirely different jewellery. Silambu is important word to convey. That's why it is called silapathikaram
This guy is a half baked...he will interview the half baked one
She didn’t explain about Manimegalai
Pls don't say shilapathikaram it's silapathikaram, thamizh not tamil ,senthamizh not chentamil😢
Why is she pronuncing it as 'shilapatikaram'?? Its 'silapadhikaram'
I don't know why TRS always brings half baked persons who doesn't know about Tamil history. TRS should do more research before inviting a person to the show.
Many wrong descriptions. He should have talked to a tamil person.
Also the way she pronounces 'queen' is incorrect. Theres no two different versions if you had studied the real literature.
Cant trs hire people who know stuff tot alk about it?
Atleast, the narrator should read the story before telling it. Kovalan is not a drunkard and it's Madurai. Kovalan and Kannagi not belonging to Jainism and more things are not true according to the real silapathikaram
No real version , thousand of it
