I'm 58 not highly educated but thirst for knowledge and art.
Not sure who I've become.
I got clean in 99 and have become someone I do not know.
How beautiful this is.
I researched everything I could get my hands on regarding the 15th 16th 17th and 18 th century.
Addicted... Going into the 19th century, I have zero desire.
It's like the world stops for me there.
Truly, I don't grasp the language, however, I know what they are saying. I grasp it all, and follow it all without grasping the language.
How is this possible?
It brings feelings to me that I can't explain. A warm feeling. Like an old friend.
I've never experienced this, but the world has changed for me.
I love it so much, I could cry. I don't know why.
So strange.. So beautiful.
Your channel has helped guide and educate me to a totally new world.
Thank you so much for the gift.

John Gielgud in the begining and Norman Wooland as Paris ❤😊👏
This is one of the best production of Romeo and Juliet that ever have I seen.
Thank you for bringing it to us
Our pleasure! Cheers!
Thanks for posting this, Shakespeare Network. I'd only seen this on this on B&W television as a child.
What a revelation to see its original color; like a Quattrocento painting come to life. While it may lack the youthful exuberance which was the hallmark of Zeffirelli's passionate 1968 effort it's has been too long neglected and forgotten. As with the overall production, the performances are largely executed with a great deal of love and care. Leonor Fini's costuming is OUTSTANDING. Give this beautiful effort all filmed authentically on-site a try!
Our Pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Suur tänu! Suurepärane, parem film! ❤
Much like the Zeffirelli version, this film is a richly colored visual treat; perhaps not on the same level of excruciating detail, but well worth the experience.
Similarly like the 1968 film, this version also seems to have been entirely dubbed in post-production, so that not one word of dialogue is lost (or even recorded on set). A minor distraction, but it's there.
Grazie a questo restauro ,ho rivisto meravigliosamente questo capolavoro di William Shakespeare in regia lui Castellani ....parere mio .... secondo come valore ,dopo Romeo e Giulietta, 1968 ,in regia lui Zeffirelli.
Grazie per il lavoro che fai!
Greetings from Pisa Italy!🌟🍀❤️

Parem film - 1954! Ideaalne.
Asukoha võtted, ilusad näitlejad, lahedad kostüümid, armas muusika, palju õhku, päike ja linnuhääli, Romeo võluv hääl! Suurepärane film, nii süütu. ❤ Tahaks balli ja pulmi tuhat korda vaadata! 1954. aasta film on tõeline Shakespeare! 🌹
Tragedy of foolish love!
Thanks :)
Our pleasure!
