Great video Tim. Been watching your stuff for a while now. As an agency owner this is the stuff no one seems to talk about. Solid advice and no BS, awesome!!
I love all your content Tim, it provides so much value. I've been wanting to ask you a question for some time: I use fiverr to outsource some of my agency work. The price, quality and timings I'm getting from some of the fiverr providers is OUTSTANDING. This scares me, because: How will I compete with people in other countries who provide services at a fraction of the cost that I provide? I feel like they're slowly catching up in all aspects, including service and project management. Thanks for your valuable input
The internet started the trend of global competition for small businesses almost 30 years ago. You have a few choices: 1. get really good at marketing to build THE recognizable brand in your space, 2. Sell more than labor by providing training and “thinking”, and 3. Develop unique intellectual property from the work your company does. You should pick option 4... All of the above.
You have a few videos I come back to every so often for reference. I can tell this is going to be one of them. Also, it has been inspiring to watch your continually push your boundaries on the production side of your videos. Your set looks professionally designed. All around great stuff.
I appreciate the help you gave me with my camera settings and lighting setup. I’ve been improving a bit. My next lighting goal is to have a light mode in addition to my dark mode scene.
I've had the final edit since Monday, but didn't have time to do the thumbnail and title until today. Rushed the description, though. Thanks for watching.
I totally agree with all of this. Only issue is, how do you charge these aggressive rates as a new agency when you have little social proof, little sales experience, few case studies, etc? You'll be losing leads left and right. Thoughts??
This video isn't for people new to the agency game. It is applicable to a new agency with experienced people in it. I don't recommend building an agency for those who don't have experience -- only gurus do that. I would say start with freelancing gigs to get the sales reps in, build a portfolio of successful case studies then work on scaling an agency. Or get a job in an agency and learn the ins and outs of the business before striking out on your own.
@@TimConley Ah I see, I thought this may be the case. Thanks for all the videos Tim! I've watched to many to count! Really been working on a USP & niche - great tips. Tyler.
@@motivatedmentality1 Thanks for watching and asking questions. As you gain experience, you can client stack your way into an agency. Have you watched the Client Stacking video and the How to become an expert in 90 days? If not, those will expand on our chat.
@@TimConley I actually have and I really appreciated both videos. I run a start-up agency right now based on a lot of the principles you teach. We're at 8k MRR in 3 months with 40kgross so far. What's most impressive is the foundation that's being laid right now. Only thing I'm lacking is a mentor in the space which I am actively and aggressively searching for. Have a coffee on Friday with a VP at premier agency in Canada to try and gain a mentor! Wish me luck haha ! Thanks again
