As I drove across the Bridge of the Gods in howling winds over the Columbia River, I saw hundreds of sails and kites soaring up and down the water. Pulling into the parking area, I could hear the excited chatter of the locals. They were buzzing with excitement, saying this to be the windiest day of the year so far! As I walked out to the river bank, the gusts nearly knocked me off balance. The wind was roaring at 30 to 50 knots! Talking with some locals, including a former Olympic kitesurfer, I learned that this was turning into a truly epic day, with many notable riders out on the water. I was stoked to be there with my camera in hand! Hope you enjoy the clips, and thanks for watching!
