Man! Gorgeous sunset! Like a painting! That action 5 is really good! What a beautiful evening you caught! It would be fun to see what that GoPro got. I love GoPro but I know the action 5 footage is way better at night. I bet you’d get a lot of views if you did a direct comparison.
@@babyboy1971 for the comparison, what would be the most sense like a side by side where you can see both views or like I switch from one camera to another ? I have the GoPro footage so I can do that.
@@MotorcycleWithMatt I just think it would be interesting! Maybe back and forth? May I also ask, for your night / sunset rides, did you dial in the exposure to anything specific on the action 5? I like that it’s so perfectly exposed. You deserve more views. Consider dropping “DJI Action 5 vs. Go Pro” etc this is very trending right now. You could go viral! lol. PS: No one talks about SPORT mode but I remember you mentioning it. What is it for? Do you always use it?
@@babyboy1971 haha I love that! Thanks for the enthusiasm and support! I just got back from a ride. Recorded the GoPro and dji action 5, so I’ll do just that! The GoPro and dji are both set to -1 exposure, auto shutter.
@@babyboy1971 sport mode eliminates motion blurr , some people like it some don’t. Basically, in all “10bit d log “ footage the camera will be set to daily, it has sport grey’d out, can’t select it.
@@pyro_chip8287 hey check out my night video, it shows a bunch of good settings, basically don’t use night mode at all, use normal video mode with iso 100-25600
Matt! Don’t sell the A5 Pro. I did EXTENSIVE testing today. The camera (till they update firmware) is shooting in HDR and it looks soft. This is something that the ace pro had in its first iteration until they updated the firmware. My guess is that DJI is going to do the same exact thing. Take a look at how insanely good this footage looks vs this video that you shot on the ride to Mt. Baker (not Dlog) I would recommend keeping the camera and waiting to see if they update the firmware and also just shooting DLOG all the time. Also, I’m finding that if you set the white balance manually to a slightly warmer temperature like 5500K, or even 6000 (especially at sunset) it looks better in non DLOG. And turn texture to 0 and NR to -1 and it’s bit less muddy. EV -0.7. Keep trying my friend. The camera in DLOG isn’t muddy. Look at this video for proof. I am praying that DJI releases a firmware update before the Ace pro two comes in swinging hard. They need to allow a non HDR option in normal color mode, fix super night and up bit rate. Alternatively, for less HDR effects, you can set ISO low. But DLOG is king here for now. BTW, the pocket 3 (which I have and love) had similar issues upon release. They (mostly) fixed it. They’ll fix this. 🤞
@@babyboy1971 I’ll try this tomorrow ! I still have the action 5 so I’ll give that a try! Thanks! Have yesterday’s video uploading for this morning (action 3) and after that I’ll try the action 5 commute in d log mode! Thanks again! I hope the mountain ride doesn’t look bad, it was a 4 hour journey haha! But I suppose I could refilm in Dlog. You’re right about the settings I filmed in normal to show how it would look fresh out of the box, for the regular user etc.
@@babyboy1971 hi, I did some tests with the action 5 today. The 10bit dlog still produced the blown hdr effect. Though the lut color profile added made the colors crystal clear. I also tried the HLG profile, this DID eliminate the hdr effect but made the color very flat. Even when I enabled hdr on my tv and monitor.
@@MotorcycleWithMatt DJI is on the case. They replied to two of my comments. They are aware. I can’t wait to see your footage. Knock back NR and texture to -1 and EV to -0.3. You shouldn’t see HDR in Dlog. Also, I heard from an expert and evidently, bit rate isn’t the only issue. The HDR is the issue and they’ll fix it. I hope. They fixed it on my pocket 3 and on the GoPro 12 and Insta fixed it on the ace pro 1. It was real bad on the Ace, now fixed. DJI will fix it. Hopefully before the 22nd, when the Ace Pro 2 debuts. That’s a good thing. DJI is racing to beat that one, because the Ace Pro 2 is going to be a serious winner on IQ. But…heavy and clunky.
Great video :-)
