Bro early access Subnautica is a fever dream
Chillll with the likey likies
Facts
I'm curious, have you tried getting interviews with the original dev's to talk to them about this stuff? It would be cool.
I have interviewed Charlie about something similar before actually!
Best memory I have with early access Subnautica was using the terraformer to tunnel my way from the cove tree directly upwards to see where I ended up on the surface, then build a vertical shaft to connect my base for quick transport. My game would not stop lagging for the rest of the time I had that map. I'm happy the terraformer no long is a thing, but man it really was so fun to just break the terrain with it.
Still in the game files, but inaccessible, and if I remember right, it doesnt work on the terrain anymore.
@@daviddragonheart6798i tried it a while ago and it still worked, just completely reset the terrain changes when you close the game
I remember being able to dig and maybe place terrain? I once built a cave with no exits or sunlight (basically a prison) and put a sandshark egg in it. I was devestated when the sandshark later attacked me :(
One of the things I really miss from early access was when the crystalline resources had their old textures. I think it was just a part of not being finished yet, but they'd shine brightly at night and would become easier to find, especially quartz hidden among sea grass. There aren't really any incentives to go out specifically at night anymore, and I'd love something like night hunts to show up again.
I cant believe we canonically crashed with a PNG of a spaceship
Considering the main protag canonically doesn't have a head , I sure can lol
@@shadowkhan422wdym canonically
@@Kaizaku-edits If you go 3rd person with mods, your character is headless . Its a thing lol
@@shadowkhan422 ik but by saying canonically i thought u meant ppl in the story acknowledge that
@@Kaizaku-edits I figured . The dude was joking about Aurora been canonically PNG so I joked back about the no head thing . Just a bunch of dumb things in the game.
My biggest wish for Subnautica 2 is that I will find a cliff edge that appears to be the void but then I will find out that its just a huge empty space that I have to swim through or drive through to get to another part of the map.
I miss the concept of the genetics system they were toying around with. I remember that they had a Transfuser tool and a Centrifuge base part. These were even in the game, just locked behind console commands. And i think the idea was that you could modify yourself or other creatures temporarily by using another creature’s dna. I think it would have been cool to make yourself giant and fist fight a reaper using its own dna or something. But it also seems way too unrealistic as a mechanic, even for Subnautica standards 😅
2 things I want most from Subnautica 2 is MUCH better base building capabilities, and useful creatures from hatching eggs. It would be so cool to chase after special creature eggs all game long to get 'the one' egg that lets you do something really cool with that creature. For example, what if we had a 1/100 chance that a Mesmer egg would hatch and be domesticated, and you could use that to calm any creature for a time, like a leviathan trying to eat your submarine...
Imagine if there were creatures who were passive until you stole their eggs, and then the hatchlings were very beneficial? It’d make for a unique challenge and reward
@@RandonPersom542 What if the Eggs were beneficial but the creature only became aggressive towards after you stole their babies. So, imagine vengeful John Wick Gasopods and Rabbit rays chasing you down all game long!!!
I prefer the handcrafted map, way more fun to explore when there is thought behind it
Procedural map gamemode might be insane ! Or even a mapmaker for challenge !
Aci is definitely my fav Subnautica RUclipsr................AND I'M SO DAMN EXCITED FOR CALL OF THE VOID
Brings back so many memories, the journey through subnautica 1's development was such an amazing experience. There was a sense of mystery and wonder that other games just don't give me.
An idea I really think Subnautica should have is on the islands some kind of tribal like alien species (I got the idea from the scavengers from rain world) that on the floating island, there is a tribe of aliens that they could find and if you got too close to attack you, but if you give them different resources, they will trade you stuff and will gain more of your trust. (Idk this is my idea, but it would be pretty cool)
Something I always thought would be cool is mobile bases. Like pop an engine and a steering wheel on your standard base and detaches from the ground and you could pilot it around like a sub.
i wouldnt mind them doing a pure survival mode using a procedurally generated map.
I honestly hope that they bring back the jukebox
Love to see this. Makes it easy to compare my progress to where Subnautica was in its early days. I forgot about the knife durability!
I've got underwater currents working in my game so I can see them bringing that back in some form. The 2d Aurora I just didn't know about, that's an interesting choice. I suppose I should be doing that for planning beyond the blockout stage. Good video Aci.
A little off topic but wouldn't it be amazing if somehow the dev team could make subnautica infinite? I guess the void does that for us, but maybe a feature where the game will procedurally generate biomes the more you explore, while making leviathans more common the further you do explore? It would also add the feeling of being truly stuck on 4546B.
weird facts i remember about early days subnautica. the observatory was its own submarine that you would spawn in and it would sink to the floor, creepvine used to harm you if you ate too much, if I'm not mistaken the rock puncher was added and removed at some point (during the adding in of the quarantine enforcement platform when its area was just a hole in the ground), there was a weird glitch where cyclopes would just die and you'd have to make new ones, the removed resources like emery, aluminum oxide crystals ,ect, nuclear and bio reactors were outside peaceables, and that one removed seamoth voice line, there's a lot more i could think of but that's what came to mind at first
I love games with theoretically infinite maps made of tiles in various sizes. Those ironically feel the most like real environments. Probably because it's a middle ground between two extremes. A designed environment feels designed. There'll be places that look like people use it but the only way to reach it is with an ability that only the player has, there'll be walled in comunities completely cut off from the outside world so that the player never experiences an invisible wall... No matter how pretty they make the space, the player will want to know what exists just beyond. A procedural environment feels procedural and empty. Everything is just placed to fill space. Nothing means anything. The tileset apreach gives the best parts of both.
I’d love to see you cover the Red Plague Subnautica mod
1:27 dude I’d use these things to show me the way out of a cave, especially what me and my sis call the “great deku tree” in the mushroom forest lol
I totally forgot about the diamond knife upgrade!
Yes, i remember that, they gotten rid of it because people preferred the hand crafted landscape of the demo much more.
Although, having played a lot of drg, if done right, it could work well
I remember the safe depth on the seamoth and cyclops
Pretty sick fanart
i remember pretty much all of these except for those signal items
the hellhole and the thing that looked like it's from a childerens playground on the small piece of land before the aurora come to mind. but I'm a fan since BZ early acess so I can't really talk here I only know the storys.
I remember watching subnautica when I couldn't play it mysefl and I saw a video where a guy made garage for seamoth with terraformer before moonpool existed
I know you can find some older items in time capsules
Yo, something I saw in the gameplay of ur video : AN AUTOPILOT FOR CYCLOP ? Would be very cool to get it on subnautica 2 :
- Concept for the decriptation station (the thing for signal) : it would give a disk, that u could use in an other machine, to shows the ping on your screen, but you could use the disk on an other station : A station in the cyclop. When you enable the auto pilot, it brings you itself to the location !!!
- A autopilot would be great for cyclop, bc honestly, when I played the game, I felt like the cyclop was to big, and to much parts were useless, making cyclop (in my opinion) kinda useless from the moment you get a good Prawn :/
Btw sorry for my english, I'm from France ! 🥖🥐
Fun fact theirs one sideways crash stuck into the ground thats stuck and you have to knife it to collect sulfer
Pc
Hm...
By combining all the environment styles from 1, Below Zero, and the upcoming game, I could see them putting out a stand-alone spin-off/DLC add-on that's a procedural generation mode.
Bruh, I didn't expect a God of War picture edit.
My early access memories = lag and lots of digging
Sup aci im back! I still watch all your videos and please tell me in the sock mod if you guys did the body because it would really cool and ive watched your videos since 900 subs but still love u!!
Oh look at that a aci upload Here in 34 seconds
What's the news about call of the void?
4:38 yo make it like Minecraft where u can just vibe in the game for however long u want
i feel like procedural terrain could work for dead zone type thing
Wow i dident even know there was a current generator in the early game * i just started watching the video but i know sea to sea or ecocean i cant remember which one added them in some caves
Right off the bat, a lambent Stalker?
I have a question. When the call of void mod is done will it be free? Btw love your videos
(Video idea) get to the void backrooms in survival, it's possible in survival I do it all time and currently building a base that leads there
3:30 I thought it had that💀
We need a mod that makes the map into procedural generation asap
Hello Aci❤
Hi!
will call of the void be able to work on switch
Subnautica + procedurally generated terrain = subcraft 💀
i think the procedural terrain would be great for replayablillty
Ohhhhh yesssss submarines
grate vid you are the best
You should make a video on subnautica adaptations like subnautica in Roblox and in Minecraft!
I like history lessons, for games that interests me 😂also, I like, nah, love call of the void. I even let a streamer download it without him knowing what it is😂
I liked the terraformer tool a lot
I hope to god that sn2 beta is similar to the first one
How is the mod progress going?
I would like 3B to be in the game
Didn't the bladder fish change names like 3 times
hear me out my man this is for that call of the void
have a fish that uses the bones of other fish as armor
the bone theft
I actually wouldn't be against durability tbh. It adds to immersion
Subnautica early access is weird
Big fish go brrrrrr
Hydra sub? 6:31
please tell me call of the void will work on mac
no subnautica mods work on macos
What about the terraformer?
These features are hella weird
I like big fishes
Weird fact ? The strange noise when you go deeeeeeeeeeeep in the void in creative (I mean more than 800 000 meters, wich is aproximately where the depht indicator stop working.
ello love
hi :)
Wasn't your user name literally subnuatica spelled backwards? or am I misremembering things
We need to start a revolt against schooling the reason is all old people had already gone to school and done the hard work for us to do the easy stuff not doing school but just learning how to write properly straightly
