BestBot has mastered the strategy of drawing bingos right out of the bag.
Hey it's a good strategy! Can't really blame it haha
15:56 ALGICI(D)E, ACTINI(D)E, and RATICI(D)E all triple-triple from that pool with CE.
Ah true! If I'd hit one of those I guess I'd have had to do the opposite of storm out of the room, whatever that is haha
@@mackmelleryou'd have to calmly walk out and storm right back inside!
Welp
i think at the start, Woogles accidentally gave you Bestbot’s luck, but it had it sorted by the end of the match

Mack just showing off he has decimal 1/7 memorized 😂
couldn't help but make this reference, spoiler below
the bot used its power herb after bingoing and bingoed again with (G)EOMANCY. swept mack's entire team after getting +2 special attack, special defense, and speed. unfortunate game 😔
You don't see a turncount like this too often wow
24:18 you could have dropped the c on f4
Ah sneaky, good call! Tbh it probably never works since BB can just play through the E in GENNED, but it can't hurt to try
Wow, that series of events after AW... how many times have we seen that by now?
Amazing game ! Thank you for all these great videos
For the first time ever I saw a play way before Mack ended up playing it in GRAFT around 2 minutes before. It then immediately got hit by a 101 bingo 😆
Yeah I saw OFFBEAT right away, then when Mack started talking about trying to play on top of FINISHES instead I thought "yeah, there's probably something better there, I'm way too quick to not look for overlaps". Was so happy when he came around to OFFBEAT.
You can drop just the C with DANCE.
Yeah totally missed that, nice spotting --- in fairness I think BB can just block any triple tirple I might draw with a play through the E in GENNED, but it can't hurt to give it a shot
I haven’t been keeping track of this but 18:13 left for the bot has to be among the lowest amounts of time used?
Good question, not sure off the top of my head but it's gotta be close
Can't quite believe what I just watched. Crazy game !
Why does this remind me so much of a lot of my own games (I mean the luck, not the skill)? Have a great bingo on my rack, opponent blocks the bingo spot with own bingo, forced to dump my rack to open, opponent bingos again with the seven completely random tiles they've just all drawn or hits the newly made opening hard... story of my Scrabble life lol...
can we do an analysis of how often bestbot bingos twice in a row it feels like it happens so often and it's completely luck dependent
REF isn't crazy, that situation you were in after UTERINE was really dire. I've played various Scrabble bots, including many of Woogles bots (I generally stay away from HastyBot or BestBot), and I don't get as flustered any more because when the bot just has an amazing game it just has an amazing game and that's it. The bot is not going to miss bingoes, so in that situation just not going to have a real chance and it's better not to grouse but to just move on.
Hey Mack! What was the highest scoring non-bingo play you ever played?
On the GRAFT turn: maybe AG C6 for 10, drawing to ENTER…it gets hit hard by Z plays, but opens a new line for sevens and draws fewer tiles from the ugly pool. I’m not sure it’s right, but I think it’s worth considering.
It's not a bad idea, but I really think I need to score more than 10 points (assuming I'm not making a big setup of sorts) given how much I'm already down
15:21 did Mack seriously just do that calculation by head? That fast??
That's insane, it's ten digits in like 4 seconds
Yep I promise no calculator used! Anything when divided by 7 has a repeating decimal (1/7 = 0.142857 repeating) so if you have that memorized it's not as hard as it looks :)
13:29 🙀
Brutal💀
one of the closest games so far
Mack, how many games out of 100 should you win based on your current ratings?
Hard to say exactly, but I feel like mid-40s would be reasonable?
Could you not have Q-stuck the bot by playing Y(O) at D1? Or is it just that getting the points from the X is more worth it?
Yeah exactly, I can Q stick it but I'm much better off going out first so I get the points from the X (and the bot doesn't get to score with the X). With only 3 tiles there isn't so much upside to playing one at a time as there would be with a more full rack
You'd need to score more than 40 extra points in two turns for that to be worth it, and even more if you're going to spend three moves. That's just not happening.
Does anyone have a single clip of Mack missing a Bingo. Ive never seen it happen once.
It's definitely happened, don't worry
20:02 You can see definitions on Woogles by clicking the word on the board during analysis
The problem is it might not tell you if a word takes an S if you do that, because the version of the word with an S might have a different definition.
@@JDHinten Yeah but he was also wondering about the definition
Ah right I always forget that... thanks!
I think ovenlike was the better play, as your opponent is better you want more variance, you aren't much less likely than bestbot to draw the x and BB might even sacrifice some points to block it.
I really think you'd have better results overall this series if you played more aggressive, sometimes play for setups that you don't yet have the letter for etc
Yeah I hear you, it's possible, though there have also been times I feel like where I open and I get hammered by a huge bingo or Z play... I've definitely been trying to play more aggressively as a whole than the first series though
My experience comes from professional poker play, if players worse than me play timid their chance to win is far far lower than if they play aggressive with bigger bets.
I can't guarantee it translates 100% to scrabble but I reckon it would increase your win %.
