I DON’T HAVE SUCH A HIGH END SEWING MACHINE, BUT I LOVE TO LEARN NEW TECHNIQUES SUCH AS THE BLIND HEM. I HAVE A TON OF THINGS I’D LIKE TO ALTER & PLAY AROUND WITH SO I WILL DEFINITELY USE THIS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. 🌸✌🏼🙂
I often wondered what this stitch was for. My sewing machine does this stitch but I never could figure out exactly how and what to use it for. But now I know, and I will use it from now on! Thankyou so much. 💐😊
I used it to make curtains once. I just wanted to try it. Loved it! The tip about sewing the raw edge is something I didn't know, and the inch-and-a-quarter dimension. thanks!
That dress is so cute! I think it would look even better with a 3/4 length (or bracelet length) sleeve. I have an older machine so I don't think it has this stitch, but it was fun to watch either way! :)
Wow this was an awesome explanation! Thanks for showing how to use the blindhem foot, too. My machine came with one but I've yet to try it, but after seeing this I am ready to play around and make some samples using this technique! Question: Would I be able to do this technique (where the 3/8 is folded out to make the blind hem) when using horsehair braid? I have a finished solid white dress and want to add horsehair braid to the hem, so I was wondering how I can make the alteration as invisible as possible. on the outside given the color Thank you and have a wonderful day! Subbed and notis on for your videos because they're excellent, I love how you instruct. :)
My girlfriend bought a sundress that is too long for her. She wants me to alter the length and I will use this stitch to do it. Thank you for the clear, easy to understand vid. This will be my first time using blind stitch on my Singer Heavy Duty machine. The fabric on the garment is lightweight, almost crepe material. What size needle should I use for this? Thanks and keep up the good work!
Yes & no. Yes but you will have small pleats or gathers in the part that is turned up. It will look smooth on the outside though. What you can do for a smooth application inside & out is create a facing for your hem to blind hem or create a bias facing & blind hem that.
The dress turned out so cute on you💜
Thank you 😊
Best explanation of blind hem. Thank you for sharing.
Very welcome 🤗 thank you for watching.
Oh my. Awesome tutorial. Awesome dress on you.
Thanks so much 😊 So sweet of you :) Thank you for watching.
That dress 😍 very stylish. Well done!
Thank you 😊

Glad it was helpful! I love knowing people are getting something out of the tutorials even if they know how to sew. Thank you for watching.
Please do a tutorial where the dress is too short, please. I’m practicing the invisible zipper, love everything you sew!
I’ll add it to the list. Thank you for watching :)

Great idea!! I think I will shorten the sleeves! Thank you for watching.
Thanks for sharing. Just what I needed to know. 🥰

How do you apply this to a horsehair braid?
The same way. Just fold back your horsehair. You have to first sew it on to your hem then do the blind hem. Hope that helps.

I would use a 70 or 80 fine point
Does this work on circle skirts?
Yes & no. Yes but you will have small pleats or gathers in the part that is turned up. It will look smooth on the outside though. What you can do for a smooth application inside & out is create a facing for your hem to blind hem or create a bias facing & blind hem that.
@@SewAnastasia thank you so much!!

I just had to walk away from my machine, after bungling lace hem tape.. 😔 so watching you see in the meantime.
Oh no! We’ll I hope your getting inspired again! I also have a video on lace hem tape. If you haven’t seen it, take a look. Maybe it will help.
I didnt know what that stitch was for
