Little tip: When feeding nectar to the pikmin you don't have to tediously throw the nectar you can just hold the nectar and feed multiple by dragging the nectar past them :)
@@Dionysos640 That REALLY depends on your envirement, and generally just, opinion? There is no one thing everyone likes, not everyone likes walking? That doesnt make them insane?
Looking at this game makes me really wish PoGO would receive a graphical update. The new skyboxes were a good start, however better grass and water textures would also be nice. Maybe see bird Pokemon fly through the air every now and then. Make it look more lively.
Agree 100% - weird because in the skybox update teaser they showed an updated ocean texture but isnt present in game. Overall, the grass, water, etc, overall game needs to be updated.
the new game is cute. my youngest daughter absolutely loves it. we must've walked for 2 hours this evening, which is a record for her. So, i'm happy with that. i still like Go and Ingress more, personally.
I was playing the Beta for Pikmin and almost lost interest. My 3 year old got a hold of it, and now we are off and racing again. Kids are definitely the best market for this game.
I do have some hope for this since I'm noticing in Pokemon go you can do 40 nominations a day for pokestops. I feel like Niantic wants Pokemon go players to map the Pikmin Bloom game like ingress did for Pokemon go.
I wish there would be those mushrooms things in Pikmin in Pikmin bloom so you have to fight them and other things too because if we could battle with our Pikmin it would give the game more purpose
As a Pikmin fan, it is my civic duty to play this game. The game is oddly vague in what to do and how to do things but I assume it's just growing pains. Got to level 8 and never knew the point was to collect costumes lol.
Niantic fanboy checking in here. Niantic uses the 'points of interest' (POI for short going forward) differently in the four games for four flavors of ARG. Ingress is a constant tug-of-war for control between the two factions over which team owns which POI (Portals) and making connections between them to create control fields for 'mind units'. Pokémon Go uses POI as pokestops to get gear or as gyms to have battles and raids at, while you can catch Pokémon even when there isn't a POI nearby. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite uses the POI as inns to recharge spell energy so you can return fragments of foundables back to the wizarding world (the plot is a calamity is threatening to expose the existence of wizards to the muggle world), greenhouses to gather potion ingredients, or as towers of wizarding challenges that function similar to Pokémon gyms. Pikmin from what I've figured out in the past day uses the POI as large flowers that when opened release large fruit for your pikmin to retrieve via expeditions. Pikmin seems to take a more relaxed approach and is more a walking encourager than the other three games. This is not a bad thing - I'm sure with time more features will be added should the game find a footing like its predecessors. Thank you Nick for posting this video, and I am glad you gave the game a fair shake and your honest opinion.
That's the thing I liked about Pikmin. I can play without having the phone in the hand or having to stop. Pokemon Go calls me to explore new places and to stop everywhere to catch pokemon, to raid, to lure in a pokestop, to meet people, etc In Pikmin, you don't need to stop for nothing
Find a footing! I think that the walking is the point and that’s nice. I notice that the flowers are far back from the road to encourage this as well but the sprouts 🌱 are currently in places where I don’t want to walk.
It doesn't really have that much content, but as a large Pikmin fan, I definitely enjoy this game. I do wish that the game kinda told you more about what to do though
There were features from Ingress I really want in POGO like being able to leave a container of items for another player of your team to pick up… I’m curious how this will compare. Always love your insights
That feature would be amazing. My first night of Ingress was a group that dropped me a bunch or resonators and other things I cant remember but it was a cool way of introducing me to the game.
OMG yes. Buuuuut there was a down side. Our city had some hardcore players, it got so bad the other team discovered where someone lived and was always dropping items on their house. Real stalker & intimidation type stuff. Things got a little dark...
I absolutely agree with this. But could you also imagine if you could use these containers to trade with other players even if they weren't in your same group. Say you have too many items, you can put them in a container and the person next to you to pick him up. It'll be just like the original Diablo game or even World of Warcraft. I absolutely love this idea.
I sort of agree with this, I've played a ton of Ingress before POGO and that feature was nifty but had some downsides like others have mentioned above. I'd rather have an Item Exchange System where you'd have to meet up in person and then trade items to the player in an enclosed in-game environment. That way, there's no problem with people discovering where you live or your path to get there and it still does the same action as dropping items.
I was one of the Beta testers here in Australia. Interesting to see what the start is like now. More features keep getting added and more opens up as you progress through levels. It is definitely a more passive game than Pokemon Go. I have it as my background game while doing other things. It was good having the forums to figure out the game play in beta testing. I see others have given tips on feeding nectar etc.
I think pokemon go works so well because for the most part the main gameplay feature is just collecting pokemon. When they try to incorporate other franchises it falls flat because were not attached to collecting mass amounts of things from other games
Doesnt matter. 90% of Pikmin's gameplay can be done in the background presuming your phone doesn't kill the app. The other more active gameplay is stuff you can do when you're back at base camp anyway.
Just wanted to say that I stopped watching your videos when I stopped playing pokemon GO , about 3 years ago, and now RUclips recommended this one, Its nice to see you are still making video , also, I might try this one.
I think the strength of this game is being a side app to match with GO. I just really hope that the developers add more features to the game (maybe battling creatures or exploring caves, I dunno), right now it's just a (really beautiful) step counter xD
Adding battles would make the game more faithful to the original series, tho it could also mean that they DIE (Pikmin games have a lot of the Pikmin dying, it's kinda dark)
I really like the map and how colorful the design is. I really wish the Pokémon map looked like this. The bright colors. The little flowers everywhere and even the grass has nice texture and the water too! Pokémon go needs a style like this!
Thanks for checking out this game and sharing your experience with Pikmin. I’m not sure I’ll give it a try, but then again, who knows. Maybe having it in the background while I play pogo will be the best way to level up to a point where it gets more interesting.
I think this game is superior graphically and the fact you can link your Nintendo account and see your Mii is cool. However, it is seriously lacking in purpose as you said. I played every Pikmin growing up and I was really disappointed to learn there are no enemies to battle with your Pikmin.
I think this game will work hand in hand with Pokémon Go well. If you allow it to track your steps properly, you should be able to hunt for Pokémon while you also walk your Pikmin in the background
I also tried Wizards Unite when it came out. I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, but know enough to get by. And I do love these AR games. But, with Pokemon Go, I can actually move. Like use the game to encourage walking, exercising, etc. Harry Potter didn't really have that option. There was too much to do in the game that made you stationary. Comparing my main park with Pokemon Go and Wizards Unite, Wizards Unite has so many more portals, "gyms," etc. than Pokemon Go does. So that just made us stand around and play. I like the be able to move and play option a lot better.

I am a heavy reviewer for Niantic Wayfarer. I've had to mark down what each new nomination is almost my entire time reviewing, like if this PoI is a playground, or a trail marker, or even one of tens of dozen different types of restaurants. There's a HUGE depository of things you can mark a wayspot as while reviewing. This is really interesting that those are going to be used for this, and I can't wait to see what else this can be used for.
Didn't even know the game existed. Thank you soo much for making this video. I love Pikmin and I was looking for a super casual way to gameify my walks.
I'll echo what others have said in that being able to link a Nintendo account--and thus benefit from having an avatar that looks potentially different from someone else's (in more than just a palette swap)--is nice.
I played the 3 mainline Pikmin games, it's feels a bit confusing since this isn't very much like the games, it is interesting though. I've only gone so far through it as it was raining in my area today when I downloaded it so it's nice to see there's more than planting flowers while walking to do. Also nice to know my hypothesis i had while out briefly play about how to make the points of interest bloom was right. I'll hold on to the game a little longer to "see if it sticks"
I’ve played Pokémon go since the beginning and love it but playing the pikmin beta for the past few months and I enjoy it significantly more these days. It’s super chill, really pretty and freaking adorable. Also, FYI, you can just hold or swipe the nectar around to feed your buddies and they’ll jump up to grab it. More unlocks as you level up, like planting flowers and beating up mushrooms. ETA- they’ll ask to go on an expedition to get a gift when they hit 4hearts of friendship. That gift is their decor costume and it’s determined by where you collected the original seedling. Friendship is built by feeding nectar, sending them on expeditions, planting (I think) and beating mushrooms.
The video they put out about the game looks like at some point you unlock mushrooms that you send off pikmin to destroy. And that seems to be where the different types of pikmin comes into play. On the plus the game seems a bit more passive so potentially easier to play and not have the wife complaining about me hunting pokemon if we are out and about
I agree. Niantic should have brought the poi infrastructure, while another company (like tencent from unite doing a great job) should have handled the gameplay and graphics.
I think the Pikmin game needs more of a purpose - what about having a tree house house to decorate with furniture you buy with the stuff you get from growing the flowers?
I loved the pikmin games, you have to strategically use the different pikmin to collect fruit and kill beasts. I'll try Bloom a bit more, but so far it doesn't seem like there will be any strategy or problem solving. I'm not sure this will be that fun.
I love the support team feature in the settings they actually reply fast and listen to fans everyone share ur idea to support team in setting because they listen
Get more Pikmin in your squad by doing the tasks More Pikmin more things you can do & more flowers can plant Fun to send to send them off on expeditions
When you reach level 6, you can send your Pikmin on expeditions to get good pieces of fruit or different seedlings and such. This will help to get way more nectar to feed your Pikmin. So you can stock up your flowerpetals very fast. I’m almost level 8 at the moment, but I guess you can do more when leveling up. When you grow a bigger flower it can cause rare items such as special fruits or so, to appear.
Huge fan of the mainline Pikmin games. And I’m really enjoying Bloom. Very passive game to help keep track of steps with some interactivity. I just love Pikmin man.
Thanks for the review. My family which includes 3 children 16 and under are all playing Pikman Bloom together. We have always been walkers and we like to geocache. None of us have ever been involved with Pokemon. The first three weeks have been fun with this so far. Funny little “jealousy” when one person gets a type of Pikman no else does even when we walk the same route. I do hope that the game expands more. I would like to be able to add new points of interest just as a Pikman player. Just have to see what happens.
Lots more content shows up as you level up.. There are giant mushrooms to attack at other Pokestop locations (ones not used for flowers ) once you get to level 15. These can be multilayer, like raids. Also, different types of Pikmin with different properties. Please keep playing and making more videos.
I've been wondering what Pikmin would be like as an AR game. I've played the original game and wonder if they'd incorporate the creatures that pray on the Pikmin in some way. I might pick up up along with PoGo and HPWU if it can be played relatively passively
Thank you for making this vid. Best one I've found on looking at and experimenting with the new game. Seems to be super low key. I've never played a Pikmin game either. But I want to try this!
I love Pikmin Bloom! I'm guessing that in the future they'll add bosses to defeat like in the actual Pikmin games. I think there's mushrooms to beat, but I haven't gotten to that level yet. You can also send postcards that your Pikmin will collect during expeditions. While you don't get anything out of the postcard other than the postcard, it's funny to see what places your Pikmin visit while they're out and about. I'm personally super excited for what they'll implement later on!
I really like the Pikmin games and think the Pikmin series is very underrated, so I'm happy it gets some attention :) I guess many people just don't know much about it and never tried it out, but if they actually gave it a try, I'm sure most people's reaction would be positive and they'd enjoy it. Pikmin Bloom still looks a bit simple, but the collecting might be fun. So far it looks like a good game you can play in the background while actively playing Pokemon GO or just while taking a walk, which is not a bad thing. Right now it's not out in Germany yet, but I'll surely give it a try when it is :)
I really think you should've checked out the shop. The most important information before starting a game with microtransactions is how tight the monetization screws will get in the long run. Especially if it's from current day Niantic.
I thought my Pikmin were broken when they stopped eating (drinking?) nectar! I must have missed the max 6petals explanation somewhere! Thank you for the walkthrough!
You need to get pikmin on lots of expeditions to get heart's and then they'll eventually want to go on a expedition for a gift witch gift depends on where you get the pikmin when you pluck them they give you a location on the map and that's where you can get the hats/costumes from
I really like it to be honest. It’s simple. And there’s not much to do unless you’re walking. As an active person it makes me wanna go out on hikes even more than I do right now. Plus, it makes you think of different places to walk around. Not bad at all.
I really enjoyed PoGo for a couple of years, but definitely felt burned out by the excessive repetiveness of it. The game was only enjoyable when you dedicated 100% of your attention to it while in city areas. It was especially conflicting for me when I arrived at a new city... should I walk around and discover my surroundings, or should I walk staring at my phone looking for mons? Pikmin Bloom takes a very awesome approach that addressed my issues with PoGo. You are able to enjoy the game while staying in one spot, and it encourages you to walk without having to be looking at ur phone constantly. It shows huge respect for your time. And ever since it came out, I have returned to my routine of exercising by running outside... Something i couldnt truly execute with PoGo due to FOMO on mons.
Was happy to hear your thoughts on this. 9:50 : yeah that was the big question. I grew the big flower. I planted all 300 flowers at 1. I got one "rare" fruit and felt super dissatisfied that it didn't seem to drop more things dureing that 24 hour period it was blooming. A lot of work for so little reward. Everyone, did I miss something here? If I did I would love to learn!
My goal for November is to start walking again and I was looking for an app to make it more enjoyable, so for me this is perfect. Thanks for the review!
Just like pokemon go, i just hope it'll still have people playing with you in real life, walking, instead of everyone with multiple accounts and faking GPS
I don’t know why people get so confused about the purpose of this game but the idea of this game it’s not collecting pickimins or anything like that (that’s just a plus) the idea of this game it’s to go out side and enjoy a walk with your Pikmin besides you while you are planting flowers around the world
The « game » is a bit empty for now but I like the « diary » feature. And… the pikmins eating on our fingers are way too cute ! And when you send them on mission it’s fun to see them walk on the map. I kinda hope they add that is Pokémon xD
Pikmin Bloom is a nice supplement to exercise. Pokémon Go is a distraction from exercise, as you have to stop and catch the Pokémon or Battle. With pikmin you can turn on the flower planting for 20 mins and then start jogging.
Didn’t realise it was in the US yet I tested the game months ago Found it s bit boring feeding Pikmin and plucking petals and then planting flowers I got to level 31 Niantic didn’t include my suggestions of feed all and pluck all It gets repetitive A game more for children I think There are more things included on he PoI are active now and there are unblock challenges they have now but over all it’s just planting flowers to make the world prettier
I started playing Pikmin Bloom this past week, and coincidentally had finally uninstalled Pokemon Go a few days before. (A relative had encouraged me to try Pikmin Bloom.) I'm not sold on the new Niantic game yet, but it definitely has a bit more to do than you discovered in your first run through. But it is almost more of a life tracker than a game though, and strangely enough that aspect is one of the main appealing parts for me - for now. I do appreciate it that it is more of a background exercise motivator, and doesn't compete with the real world when you take walks. I'll see how long I stick with it.
Little tip: When feeding nectar to the pikmin you don't have to tediously throw the nectar you can just hold the nectar and feed multiple by dragging the nectar past them :)
Thank you for this tip. Throwing/aiming the nectar was super annoying.
Thank you!!! I've been struggling with this so much XD

The video they put out about the game looks like at some point you unlock mushrooms that you send off pikmin to destroy. And that seems to be where the different types of pikmin comes into play.
On the plus the game seems a bit more passive so potentially easier to play and not have the wife complaining about me hunting pokemon if we are out and about
Almost to a million! I remember you first video how to play Pokémon go, of course I was much younger then
Niantic is a technology company that make AR applications. They have no idea what makes good gameplay.
I agree. Niantic should have brought the poi infrastructure, while another company (like tencent from unite doing a great job) should have handled the gameplay and graphics.
tHAT'S ThE pOiNT
As a player in Japan, I’m so far behind everyone because we got it late.
I feel like if this takes off, we have a better chance at getting Pikmin 4.
Let's pray for the damn Pikmin 4 we're been waiting for so long
@@antusFireNova it comes out this year
I'm pretty sure Pikmin Bloom is more of a glorified step-counter
which I'm A-OK with
I think the Pikmin game needs more of a purpose - what about having a tree house house to decorate with furniture you buy with the stuff you get from growing the flowers?
I personally love it counting steps instead of KM
I loved the pikmin games, you have to strategically use the different pikmin to collect fruit and kill beasts. I'll try Bloom a bit more, but so far it doesn't seem like there will be any strategy or problem solving. I'm not sure this will be that fun.
I love the support team feature in the settings they actually reply fast and listen to fans everyone share ur idea to support team in setting because they listen
Amazing video nick
Get more Pikmin in your squad by doing the tasks More Pikmin more things you can do & more flowers can plant Fun to send to send them off on expeditions
The way I see it, the endgame is to have the entire world covered in flowers.
I’m liking it so far. Only been playing a few days but it’s not a bad way to track your activity and collect some pikmin ☺️❤️
Both games at once?! RIP battery life
I'd love for you to make More videos on Pikmin Bloon! 😄
thanks Nick! great to have you back. I agree with your evaluation here. Thanks for the tips
Damn bro you still Killin it.
Almost at a mill!
P.S. You have the best Pokemon Go videos ever and I watched many. Thanks for helping the Pikmin nubbies out there too!
Huge fan of the mainline Pikmin games. And I’m really enjoying Bloom. Very passive game to help keep track of steps with some interactivity. I just love Pikmin man.
sending pikmin out to get things is quite addicting
I really like the Pikmin games and think the Pikmin series is very underrated, so I'm happy it gets some attention :)
I guess many people just don't know much about it and never tried it out, but if they actually gave it a try, I'm sure most people's reaction would be positive and they'd enjoy it.
I wish you could play both at the same time planting flowers in the background while catching Pokémon
I just might pick this up. It looks interesting, and less stressful than PoGo.
If u don’t name ur first red Pikmin Steve, ur doing it wrong
Pikmin Bloom is more or less an interactive step counter. 😊
I really think you should've checked out the shop. The most important information before starting a game with microtransactions is how tight the monetization screws will get in the long run. Especially if it's from current day Niantic.
Nick I'm honored you named that pikmin after me
You don't throw the nectar to them; instead just slide your finger and "hold" until the Pikmin gets it! (:
Thanks for making this video! As Pokemon Go player, I was curious. Keep up the great work! 👍
You should definitely play pikmin 3 on the switch! Such a beautiful and charming game. I love the pikmin series.
I thought my Pikmin were broken when they stopped eating (drinking?) nectar! I must have missed the max 6petals explanation somewhere! Thank you for the walkthrough!
You need to get pikmin on lots of expeditions to get heart's and then they'll eventually want to go on a expedition for a gift witch gift depends on where you get the pikmin when you pluck them they give you a location on the map and that's where you can get the hats/costumes from
Would like see more pikin video’s, I love our Pogo ones informative and unlike others not obsessed with spending loads of money to get everything
That Mappy shirt looks sick 👌
Also getting postcards from your pikmin is also quite entertaining to see what they do at them..
Yooo! long beach! yes the Pike was packed when PoGO first came out
Was happy to hear your thoughts on this.
Just found out about this this morning, I’m surprised how many flowers were already planted in my city
My goal for November is to start walking again and I was looking for an app to make it more enjoyable, so for me this is perfect. Thanks for the review!
This video has made me curious about Pikmin too...might give it a try....thanks for showing it off to us 👍😁
Just like pokemon go, i just hope it'll still have people playing with you in real life, walking, instead of everyone with multiple accounts and faking GPS
Couldn't stop watching your Mappy shirt.
The Pikmin games are based I recommend y’all to play them
Sublime vibes. Too stressful for me but I'm always tempted to go back. I probably will
This is a brand new game, so I get the feeling this game will eventually have way more mechanics in the future
Pikmin Bloom is a nice supplement to exercise. Pokémon Go is a distraction from exercise, as you have to stop and catch the Pokémon or Battle. With pikmin you can turn on the flower planting for 20 mins and then start jogging.
"The Origins of Robert"
I actually really like this game, it’s not too complex and it gets me out and going for walks now, I hope people start picking it up soon in my area
I appreciate you taking the time to show us the pikmin universe.. not sure I can commit to two games though, that was the problem with wizards unite
I was hoping making the big flowers bloom would at least give you more nectar or something.
Pikmin Bloom does have an analog to raids. Giant mushrooms that you can send your pikmin to fight.
I wish it was easier to get stops to bloom and you got more from it. Other than that I think it’s really cute and has a lot of potential
Nice great run threw I will try this game out as well. thanks bro
This game fits your hairstyle perfectly
I got to say it. The game gets cooking around level 15, you get these mushroom raids and they're pretty neat. It's a scoring system.
Dope Mappy shirt
One element not in Pokémon Go is the flower trails showing popular tracks. May add a bit more community in a different way.
